| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Zelothtith sat among the ruins of this forgotten city. He had spent almost a month regenerating in this place after another run in with the dead spirit of the mage who had sealed him. He had found it quite annoying that a mage dead so long that even the vaguest of legends about him were long forgot could still leave traps for him to this day. He knew he would win against that cursed mage eventually, but how long until he could free his own power and take back what was his. ‘Patience is everything no matter how long it takes. They never could kill me forever and they never will. Hmm…. I think it is about time.’ He got up taking up his sword getting ready to meet his ‘master’. ‘Ha I will kill that fool after I have his power for my own. Still more time is needed. I sent a clear enough message of my location. He should find me soon enough. I want to begin this training or whatever being an apprentice entailed.’ It didn’t matter really what happened as long as that demon let him stay close enough to leech some energy. His sword was hungry for blood as well, but all it had to drink this week was animals and one skinny bandit. His sword craved the blood of the strong, but it enjoyed the taste of the innocent too. He could feel the demon Chaos come closer and waited. He stood in the middle of what once must have been a great hall and now was only a single wall covered in dead vines. A few other plants struggled for life, but most were dying. He enjoyed spots like this. It held the power of decay and that he could feed off of that a bit so he had stayed here to wait for Chaos. The night was rather pleasent, considering the situation the demon had been in lately. The dark sky, illuminated by the soft glow of the full moon. Bats fluttered through the air overhead, creating odd shadows on the glare of the moon. The night sounds made the place seem even creepier than it already was, deep mist and smoke covered the ground, night sounds such as owls and wolves echoed out in the back ground. No oen in their right mind would trespass in this area. A great ancient city now lost to nature and the elements. Over grown brush, deep weathered ruins, it was as if a god itself was brought down. The red demon step heavily, his demon armor clanking in the night air. He was here to meet Zel, one of servents he had met a while back in the lantern. After searching for apprentices he had found one who showed great promise, and even enjoyed blood shed almost as much as he did. But with the many things going on they had not meet in a while. The young demon had contacted chaos, asking to meet him here in the ruins. It was a perfect setting, two demons meeting in a place of ruin and death. But Chaos alos felt betrayle. maybe cause Zel was after something else, or becuase he was just paranoid. But he was going to watch himself non the less, having many people turn on him he would not let it happen again. As he got closer to the meeting spot, he could feel the slow flicker of a evil prescence, the feeling of his friend Zel. It was not a strong feeling, but was there non the less. A crooked smile spread over his face as he stepped up the rubbled stairs. Been awhile? i thought you had gotten scared of the Beast. Haha good to see you.Chaos let out a chuckle, a deep evil laugh that would have scared small weak people. He welcomed his comrade as if they were friends since birth. |

Zelothtith smiled and greet Chaos in an equally friendly matter. After all he wanted to gain this man’s power first and then kill the guy off. Chaos would stay alive as long as he was useful, but Zelothtith knew he had to be careful too. He didn’t want to spend another month or more recovering a new body. With all this in mind he greeted his so called master. “Ah good to see you too and who would ever get scared with so much to gain. I just had a few errands to run and then there was this tasty little thing I could not pass up.” Shrugging his shoulders a bit. “Though unfortunately the little thing got lucky and managed to run away with most of its limbs intact. Then I met an old acquaintance and we had a spirited discussion. After that I felt I need to see you. You and I have a deal and I expect to get something out of it, so why don’t we start what we agreed to. I am sure you have a good number of plans that I can be useful in and I can learn a bit at the same time.” His words were mostly true. He had been on an errand to gather his power fragments and he had met that tasty little morsel. He would have eaten her too if it wasn’t for that mage and what else would you call defeating a spirit other than a spirited discussion. A violent one of course, but then Zelothtith wasn’t one for any other type of discussion. He managed to keep his smile just respectful enough, but his eyes showed there ambition. He could have hidden that ambition, but he wanted Chaos to underestimate him for now. Thus if he showed parts of his ambition he would be taken as more a novice in the demon ranks than he truly was. His sword was always at the ready and clearly eager for something to kill or at least a good fight, but he held it back. He was curious as to what training or tasks Chaos would come up for him. He doubted it would be anything he couldn’t handle. Still you had to be careful in demon games, those who weren’t were dead and he was sure he would be the last one standing. |

It was good to see Zel, and when the young apprentice began to rant on about his life, Chaos couldnt help but choke down a chuckle, he was apparently excited to be meeting Chaos again. The first time the pair had met they were in the purple lantern in Balefire, and had a rather interesting battle. This boy was clearly a powerful demon, just held back by limits like he had been before. But Chaos was now at full power, one of the reasons he was glad to meet up with Zel again. Well it sounds like you have had a fun time wiht out me. Haha things have been just as action packed on my end. A few deaths, me and soem friends threw a party in Kellen, that was a blast. But things have slowed down, just trying to rebuild myself you know. He sighed a little as they stood there. With a motion he moved over to a destroyed pillar, taking a seat on its cold stone surface. His armor rattled as the deadly cutter on sih back hung from its perch, scraping the stone. Chaos lifted a hand to his face and scracted at his chin. Im glad you came to see me. I have a very important job for you, that will also prove as a great test. There is a man who goes by the name of Zion, he has fled from me and needs to die. He is a very awkward man who has very low social standings and should be very weak. However this man may posses some of my power, and will be full of surprises. As far as i know he was last seen in balefire, running amock naked in the woods. He sighed again, thinking about the mission he had just assigned to Zel. He was sending him to kill the man he had lived with, shared a body with for seventeen years. Why he didnt do it himself, he did not know. |

Zelothtith grin grew wider as he listened. The fool was actually going to give a chance to feed off his own energy. If he played this right he might find a source that he could safely leach energy from without having to fight Chaos himself. Still he would need more information. Obviously this man had been some contractor or host for Chaos, but why he hadn’t been killed? Something held Chaos back and he would have to find out if this was a weakness. “Very well then I would be happy to take care of such a simple problem. You don’t have any particular way this Zion needs to be killed or will that pleasure be left up to my own choices? Oh and what sort of powers do you think this poor creature may hold. I always like to hunt prepared. Still if you don’t know I will just improvise. Or maybe you have something you can teach me to help me in hunting him. I am eager to learn.” His sword twitched a bit eager to be on the hunt for what promised to be a lovely meal, but he had to wait for now. He wanted to see how much he could get out of Chaos. Training or learning any technique Chaos had would help him. A cold wind blew between the too, but he didn’t care it was only this human shell that felt the cold, not his true self. He had little care for his current body, except for the fact that he needed it to move around the world and release his true self. He could also feel several more of the few plants still struggling start to die. He was sure that the added presence of Chaos was to blame for the sudden increase in decay. Of course this just gave him a little more to feed on, though Chaos probably fed on the death hanging in these ruins too. |

The demon fiend was happy to see this man eager, ready to kill. He had given the task out and was going to expect none less that the completion. The way Zel acted, he was ready to finish the job tonight. This was a good sign, he would need Zel in the upcoming war, and if Zion had prepared like his father, then the battle had already begun. This task was actually a ruse, a spy mission disguised as a murder. If zion had run off and stayed in his current state, then his apprentice would have no problem killing the boy. But he held promise, just like his father before him. And only the gods knew what was in store. Just kill him, any means you find usefull. Torture him if you desire, or poison him, maybe set a cleaver trap. I don’t care, as long as you return with your life and his head. Chaos just wanted to end things before they got to far. Giving the boy a chance to grow would only make his job in the future harder, and if this young student wanted to help him, then slaying the child would be the easiest way. The last I saw him he was naked, no money or belongings to his name. He should be no match at all for you. As far as training gos, we shall see when you return, a reward perhaps.A light chuckle was let out from the demon, I will stay here, growing in strength and preparing myself. So when you are complete return here and I will be happy. I trust you will not fail me Zel! As those words left his lips, Chaos turned to head deeper into the ruins, to find a nice place to sleep. All he could do now was wait and see, hopeful of his new student. |

Zelothtith smiled as his ‘master’ left him. “Of course I won’t fail. As if I would ever let my targets get away alive. I shall look forward to our next meeting, enjoy your time here.” He wasn’t sure where Chaos would sit down, but he didn’t care he felt his sword crying out for more blood. Perhaps he would kill some travelers along the way. He didn’t like the idea of Chaos gaining more power, but then that happened all the time. Your enemies would not stay still for you and you just had to gather more power than they could. He was sure that he would be able to do this, just how long it took would be the question. He would have to investigate this target a bit more too. This target was a potential source of energy and a being with potentially unknown abilities. Who knew leaving the person partially alive, but hidden might have some benefits. There were many ways to prove a fake death and he had a few contacts that could help with that, but first he would have to see if there was even a benefit to even starting to plan out such a thing. He turned around to leave and pulled as much energy from the area as he could. A few nearly dead weeds crumbled away into dust as he pulled energy from them. It still wasn’t much, but every little bit he took, chaos would not absorb. Leaving the crumbling ruins, wasn’t hard and there was excitement to moving on a hunt again. He would carve a path of blood as he followed his target and gain more power. Most of all he would make sure this Zion felt fear when he died. Fear and despair were the ultimate flavoring to any meal, especially when you were dining on a soul. His smile widened at the thought of the good meal and his sword pulled a bit as he picked up the pace eager to kill again. |
