| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Ulfr approached the gravestones of his parents, Maliq and Veronica. He had brought twelve red roses to place on their graves. Kneeling, he placed four on his father's grave, four on his mother's grave, and he planted four in between their graves. The wolfish grin of his was present on his face, as was a single tear that fell from his right eye. Hey mom, hey dad. How have you been? Things have been okay for me i guess. For the most part, I have been able to resist Sithis and his persistent antics. Though it is getting tiresome, and sometimes I'm scared that I won't be able to stand firm against him. I had to give in once just to give myself some relief from him. I went to where the larger part of the bandit population in Iymthess reside, and I slaughtered a good amount. Another demon actually came and began to kill some too, but he left soon after arriving. I think I may have freaked him out. Imagine that; I freaked a demon out. I don't know, I hope you two aren't disappointed in me. But I guess the bandits had it coming, and that is why I chose them to kill. Those that had taken innocent lives. Ulfr sat for a few more moments, just sitting contently next to his parents and their graves. He looked down and smiled a sad smile. I love you... |

Dante began to walk down the rows of the many graves. Reading the names and seeing in his mind the many faces that had attached themselves to the name. Suddenly reading over the name of another name caused him to stop dead in his tracks. He was unable to tell the feelings that had dropped upon himself. Here lie his best friend. Dear friend, I can't believe our paths cross again. This meeting is not one of fortune but one of sorrow. I did not venture to this place to meet you here but I suppose I would be disgracing you if I had not fulfilled the promise I once relieved upon this grave. The promise of... Dante was cut short as he heard another voice in the presumed desolent cemetery. He began to scan with his eyes if any other life was around. He for now didn't see anyone but he knew that there was someone around. He intended to find them before they found Dante. He let down Shroud to allow him to find the other person in the garden of the dead. He knew that Shroud, the cunning musfa, could easily do the task at hand since that was what he was trained to do. |

As Ulfr sat, lost in his thoughts, he heard some small creature scurrying around. As he looked, it was indeed something small. It looked like a squirrel, but it was larger. Not liking the sad and somber mood, he was in, Ulfr felt like living up his attitude. So, by employing one of the many benefits of shadowdancing, he decided to mess with the creature. It was dark under the new moon, so practically everywhere was a shadow. Much to his benefit. With a mere thought and a flick of a finger, he produced a loud illusion of a screech about ten feet to the creature's right. |

He then sat down feeling the grief in his heart from his old friends. This was the moment he had hoped would never come. Dante began to feel tears run down his face and when Shroud came down his shoulder, he stopped but not trying to be quiet he knew he was making noise but he couldn't stop he finally huffed in alot of air and became silent. He was afraid of being found so he readied himself for a fight. |

The creature freaked out! It was Ulfr could do to stifle a laugh. Luckily, he managed it. As for the creature, it scampered back to its master, which Ulfr just noticed. With that wolfish grin of his on his face, he flicked his fingers once more, conjuring the illusion of twelve voices surrounding the area they where in. Who dares to disturb our domain!? What foolish mortal has done this!? the voices shrieked, half of them sounding deep, male, and demonic, while the other half was female, high, and sounded like a siren. I wonder what he will do? Ulfr thought to himself. Toying with them eh? Why not kill them afterward Ulfr? Hmm? Sithis suggested, with malevolence in his voice. Because I'm not a bloodthristy demon like you, Ulfr retorted. Ah, but you are bloodthristy! |

Dante heard the many assortment of voices. He knew them to be demon of nature by the voices they were. He was paranoid, not knowing where the voices originated. So he began to crept into the crypt that was standing close by and opening the door he smelled the smell of death and decay, what a memorable smell. Dante crept into the side corner and waited to see if any creature would try and join him inside. He drew his stilleto so to stab the enemy and not give him a chance. |

Ulfr continued the illusion, amused by the man's reaction. This night had become quite entertaining, and somehow Ulfr knew that if his parents knew this was happening and could see it themselves, they would be amused too. Foolish mortal! Begone from this place, begone! The likes of your kind do not belong here! If you value your life run you pitiful creature! Who will kill him if he doesn't leave, hmm? You Ulfr? Ahaha! Shutup Sithis, before you ruin my mood. |

Dante knew not what to do but he knew if he left he would die. This made him certain that he would just stay and wait for one of the foes to walk inside of the tomb. He was going to die trying. He knew he had to be sneaky but there was no where to hide. He looked around and notice a large stone coffin in the corner. He moved it just barely enough so that he could crawl inside of it but yet not be instantly seen by those who walk in. He sat and waited in the inside to see what those outside would do. |

A large grating noise echoed out from the tomb the man had entered. Ulfr wondered what he was up to. Surely he was no graverobber? That wouldn't be very smart if the illusions Ulfr had created were real. This person had to be completely idiotic. Creeping silently over to the tomb, he wouldn't be seen unless there was a light shining down on him. Peering in the tomb, he didn't see anyone to begin with, and he frowned. That man was in here somewhere, but where eluded him at the moment. Well, there was always a way to flush out burrowed creatures. Focusing his energy, he prepared to cast a particular spell he had come across by accident. It was actually from Sithis's mind, and how he had managed to acquire it from him, Ulfr didn't know; he just woke up one day with it. "Flood!" he shouted, and immediately sea water filled the tomb. It may have been fairly large for a tomb, but it would be filled to the brim with sea water. The fact that he had successfully cast this particular magic surprised him, but he hadn't been to doubtful of succeeding. After all, he did know how to use it in theory. Now, he knew that he could actually cast it. The water reached the top of the room in less than a second, and began to pour out of the tomb. Thinking quickly, he closed the door to the tomb. With the outpoured water taken into account, there was about a foot of air left. If the guy could swim, he could get to the top. If he didn't figure out how to get out fast enough, he'd run out of air soon enough. Ulfr's guess was ten to fifteen minutes. He did tell him to leave. |

Dante felt water burst inside of the stone coffin, actually lifting the lid a foot up off the coffin allowing Dante to burst up. He swam towards the door and noticed a figure bathed in the moonlight but he couldn't tell any details. He saw the door shut and he knew his only hope was to to swim to the top for air. Dante made it to the top of the tomb with no problems though the water was salty and somewhat murky. Dante couldn't see and he was disoriented. He tried hitting the walls but he had no luck they were made of pure stone. He hoped that his beating would be heard and someone would take pity. Whether it is those of the living or those of the dead. Dante with all his desperation let out a scream for help. He couldn't believe what he had been reduced to, a small baby crying for help. He could only hope but to get someone to open the door. Even though when he is released he will get payback on the foes outside of the door that awaited him. |

Ulfr didn't have to wait long before he heard banging and screaming on the inside of the tomb. "It's about time you screamed, I was close to getting disappointed. Wonder if I should let him out?" he muttered to himself as he leaned against the tomb. The banging persisted and Sithis was pleased and upset at the same time. So why aren't you entirely happy about this? he asked Sithis in his thoughts. You didn't rip him to pieces, throw his blood all over the ground. We didn't get to feel his blood on our claws! Ulfr cleared his throat. My claws you mean, and I still don't know if I'll leave him in there. Either way, I would have expected you to at least be happy at the fact that I am closer to killing someone without provocation on my own than I have ever been. Sithis simply comtemplated this response as the screams and banging persisted. If the guy kept that up, he'd run out of air sooner. Must be in a panic. |

Dante continued to beat and pound at the stone siding of the walls. The hard solid stone of the walls began to make Dantes bones feel as though he had hit them with giant mallets but he had to continue to beat on the wall and hope that someone would let him out.Dante at one point in his desperate time even swam down and tried to make a small hole in the door by pushing it but it would not budge. If I am not relieved of this pressure soon I will die... No! That is not an option I must escape. Dante did this and with all of his last effort hit the wall with all of his might. The blow to the wall was sure to be heard on the other side by someone close to the crypt. |

Particularly loud smack against the door sounded. Figuring he had better let the man out now, Ulfr walked over to the door of the tomb. He flexed his hands, and positioned himself, getting ready for what he was about to do. He began to change into his werewolf form, sliver fur growing out of him, his clothes seemingly melding with him. Powerful fangs grew from his mouth, which was now his snout. Viciously sharp claws spawned from the tips of his fingers and toes. Standing 9 feet 9 inches, he raised his head to the night sky and howled. It was loud and eerie, echoeing in the cemetary. Prepared in his stance, he grasped the door of the tomb, and yanked it back so hard he broke the stone door off. Instantly, water rushed out, spilling everywhere. The man came flying out of the tomb, spiraling in the water. Whether or not he was unconscious, Ulfr didn't know. What are you going to do with him Ulfr? Hmm? Humor me perhaps? Ulfr snarled at Sithis' comment, unsure exactly himself. It was... fun and entertaining, but should this man be killed? As far as Ulfr knew, he hadn't done anything evil. But who said he had to have done something evil to be killed? |

Dante fatigued and almost exhausted he waited for help hoping and praying to the gods that he didn't even believe in. He couldn't panic, Dante didn't have enough energy to survive. He tried to keep himself afloat with the last of his energy but he could not even accomplish the simple task he tried again and again to keep himself afloat and breathing but with all of his strength used on trying to bash the walls and get help he had failed himself. Ha! A fitting place to die, a tomb. This crypt will be my resting place but even if I have to fight the dead I will come back. This isn't the final chapter of a book of my life. Dante said this to himself as he felt dizzy feeling his consciousness slip. As he dazed off he felt the water moving. |

As the salty sea water finally managed to spill completely out, Ulfr approached the man, who was on his back, not moving what-so-ever. It appeared he was unconcious, and if he had been left in there another minute or so, it seemed that he would be dead. Grabbing the man, Ulfr picked him up and stepped toward a gravestone. Placing the man in front of it, he took off the man's cloak, and tied his hands behind the gravestone with it. Ulfr sniffed him, disturbing the hair on his head as he did. Catalouging his scent, he began to pace back and forth, eyeing the unconcious man. If he didn't have any water in his lungs, Ulfr knew he would wake eventually. However, if he did, well, sleep tight mister. Not wanting him dead, Ulfr raised his right leg and kicked him where the diaphram would, forcing anything in the man's lungs out. The kick would most likely wake him up as well, not to mention hurt like heck and bruise in a few minutes. Ulfr wouldn't be surprised if he cracked a rib or two. Leaning forward, Ulfr planted his claws in the man's shoulders, rendering them useless. This one was completely at his mercy, or lack there of. With Sithis encouraging him, and Ulfr actually enjoying himself, it seemed Stihis would be humored tonight. |
