Ah, warm sunny days were probably some of the best that existed. A break from the biting cold of the winter, it seemed. A tall man walked the art-strewn streets of Cascadia, his eyes, red as the still-beating hearts of all the joyous artists. It didn’t take much for the citizens to figure out what he most likely was, accompanied by the smiling suit-wearing imp. He was a fiend, though his aura a pleasant one, it could be seen he was more than a simple demon… he was a demon, one without the intent to kill, to gamble away the lives of innocent bystanders. He was here to purchase art. Moments passed after each of the people saw him before their fears seemed to be put to rest as he looked around. His eyes caught the attention of most, however. Two where most would expect, and then a third above those, turned sideways, it almost seemed sleepy… almost hypnotic. His two parallel eyes, however, showed a great deal of interest, so many different forms of art, so many works of wondrous design. His fingers dealt generously to poets and bards as he passed, tossing them coin for their art… Ah, the devil was a sentimental, it was one of his more favored features to his mischievous personality. His imp, though a faithful companion, was not quite as thrilled with the works of art as was his master, cursing out the so-called artists in the black tongue which graced his every word. The words might have fallen flat upon the ears of their victims, but the meaning dug deep beneath to their souls, momentarily stopping a good deal of artists at the darkly-woven insults. “Now, now, Ornias. You’re far too wound tight. Relax, see sights without destroying them… or paying somebody to burn it for you.” Lu spoke with calm words as he stopped, leaning closer to a piece of framed art, examining the brush-strokes which made up a ship on high-waters. It seemed a common theme, though the ship’s design was what particularly intrigued him. An iron-clad vessel with designs of a turtle and a party of a large crew dancing on top. It seemed rather intriguing… well, at least to the devil. The imp merely stole the smile from the artist’s face with dark comments, which brought a sigh to the devil’s lips. “Rather uncalled for. Taking a common theme and making it a deal more intriguing is a rather difficult task, after all.” The smile on the artist’s face returned for a moment longer before once again being destroyed by the imp’s obvious displeasure. The devil stood tall, shaking his mostly-black hair a bit, shrugging and purchasing the portrait from the artist, “Somebody will be by before too long to deliver this portrait to my home, fine work…. Hush, Ornias.” He reacted quickly to silence the imp’s black tongue before turning and merrily making his way down the street. With Ornias along, not even that foul attitude would besmirch the devil’s bright day. |

Cassiel, her shiny blond hair glowing bright in the light of a sun, was in quite a good mood. First, she happened upon the flying city, high in the sky. Her mind was filled with wonder and excitement, and not long after she was able to pay her fair to go into the city on the back of a winged horse. It had been a fun flight, the Pegasus was a beautiful creature and the destination was not disappointing either. Exploring the markets and the Artist Alley's had brought to her many wondrous sights of fantastic arts and crafts she could never dream of making. Listening to the music of street bards was a bliss to her ears, she could hardly believe there was so much talent in one city. She did however notice some artists seemed to have stopped in their tracks, a disheartened expression on their face. It wasn't just one or two, but as she went onward, she discovered a few more. What could have darkened their moods on such a wonderful day? Much as she always liked to ease pain, that of the emotional kind she knew was none of her business and so she moved on. One other thing about her journeys was all the different races to see. Even now she thought she saw someone with three red eyes. Much like Cassiel, he seemed to be enjoying the day to it's fullest. But then his companion caught her eyes. Cassiel had never seen an imp before. She had been blessed in only having met a couple of the more evil creatures of the world, but they had yet to taint her view of the world as a place goodness and kindness. Much as she should have been repulsed by the natural evil looks of the creature, Cassiel did not quite see it like that. She saw the creature as 'unique', and though she would hate to be rude, she wanted a closer look. Moving towards the pair, she studied the creature more, it's bright red skin, little horns and tail. Such an interesting creature. |

While his master might have seemed rather caught-up in the painted canvases that lines either side of the cobblestone street, the imp, Ornias, was much less caring for such works. The imp saw art more as a way to kill somebody, finding ways to make each end unique, to bring bloodshed and splatter to the surrounding area in a cascade of splotches and sprays… The current thought of the imp particularly was applying itself to the girl that had just neared it, reeking of holiness, the small demon turned its head to the girl with a sneer, quickly spitting out a rather nasty set of insults and complaints in the demonic tongue. The meaning of the words brought about the devil’s own attention as he spun around on a heel, sharply taking note of the girl before him and slapping his imp rather harshly on the back of his red bald head. “Now, now, Ornias; there’s no need to be rude, particularly to such a beautiful girl.” The imp turned back to his master, rubbing the back of his head as he spouted out more insults, mainly at the girl’s expense though a good portion was reserved to his master who seemed to simply shrug off the words. They both realized that loyalty had nothing to do with manners or kind words, much to Lu’s chagrin. It didn’t take but a moment after the imp had at last silenced that the three-eyed devil turned his attention once again to the girl, “My humblest apologies for my travelling companion’s harsh words, I do so hope that you can forgive him, or at the very least, not hold ill will towards me for choosing to travel with him. Ornias isn’t particularly too kind to other beings, and has quite a… violent streak.” Morningstar spoke with a kind and gentle tone as he spoke. “Oh, and I seem to be rather rude myself, my name is Lu Morningstar, but you can feel free to call me Lu, Luci, or anything else that might particularly come to mind.” He said, introducing himself as he gave a low sweeping bow that held with it an air of somehow modest nobility, one that had been rather absence in the moments before, and then were once again absent as he stood to his full height, looking down at the girl before him, “And might I inquire as to what your name is, m’lady?” |

The little imp had noticed her and began sneering at her, speaking in a language she did not know. There was something sinister in that language, and Cassiel, much as she was ignorant to obvious evils, seemed to naturally pick up on it. It made her very curious what he was saying, as well as not really wanting to know. However, it's companion seemed to have noticed and did not seemed pleased with the imp's cursings. The man's words were flattering even as he lightly punished his servant, causing Cassiel to instantly give her bright smile and bringing her attention back to the man. He apologized for his servant. "Oh, it's quite alright," she said. Her mind only glazed over the mention of a violent streak, as though simply to ignore that anything could be violent. Instead she was taken in by the man's gentle voice. The man gave a great, noble bow, once more making Cassiel feel rather flattered. His name was nice. Lu. However, a question came to her mind when he said it would be fine to call him Luci. That name sounded more feminine, and she figured both must be short for something. She was curious what that could be but did not wish to pry when she had just met him. When he stood back up, Cassiel gave the best curtsy she could muster. "My name is Cassiel Aila. It is a pleasure to meet you, Lu." |

“Cassiel Aila, quite the beautiful name, rather appropriate for its owner, then, hmm? A pleasure it is to meet you, Lovely Lady Cass, even if though the reason was a rather rude, short, red, and horny one.” Despite his red eyes, Lu’s red eyes seemed rather sincere and kind as he spoke, even though slipping in a slight joke at the imp’s expense, the devil was not particularly one to be much less that joyous. Perhaps at worst he could be a bit vengeful, but particularly that happened in more extreme cases of betrayal. The imp spat out a low insult or more rather a rude comment at both the expense of his master and the blonde-haired girl which had only a moment ago been staring at him. The tri-eyed demon merely shrugged at the comment dismissing it without denying the words, though he also didn’t give way into any confirmation of them either, “You do realize that if you are going to be grumpy and rude as such, you can go ahead and leave at any moment, right? After all, it’s not like I’m even attempting to hold you by any chain of obligation or anything.” Lu spoke, as if surely reminding the imp of this fact, an angered response from the small red demon came quickly, to which the devil replied with an equal haste in his own words, “I never said you were to come with me, I simply stated that I was going to Cascadia to look at some artwork, it was your choice to follow me. Now either shoo or hush, either way I’d much rather be talking with this beautiful woman rather than arguing with you over petty semantics.” The imp paused a moment, gripping a few more insults at the two before walking away, slouching slightly and kicking a random citizen in the shin as he passed, invoking a sigh from Morningstar’s lips. “Again, I am terribly sorry for Ornias’ attitude… Might I ask two questions, though? Firstly, what brings you to Cascadia this fine day? And secondly, would you care to accompany me in gazing at the artwork?” The demon inquired, his words still remained kind as he ignored the fact his impish companion had ever accompanied him in the first place. After all, that seemed as it might be the best action to take. |

Lu was an absolutely charming man, and though the red eyes should look vicious they instead appeared kind and sincere. The smile on Cassiel's face brightened with almost every word. He just had a way about him that was charming, Cassiel could not quite put her finger on what it was. So far it seemed to be his manners, and he had very astonishing manners. Almost every word about her made her feel better about herself. Lu began arguing with his imp companion, and it would end in the Imp stomping away. Cassiel looked back at Lu who asked her a couple of questions after once more apologizing for his companion. "I'm a bit of a wonder healer," came the answer to his first question. "I just sort of happened upon this wonderful city in my travels." She looked around the city. "And it is such an amazing place. Maybe one day I could settle down in a city like this." On his offer to go with him as he looked at the art, she nodded. "I would love to," she said. After all, there was still so much to see, and it was always nice to have a companion. "After all, this day is too nice to spend it alone, isn't it?" She looked around the artist alley. "Where to first?" |

“Oh truly things always seem rather a great deal more interesting when in the accompaniment of others, particularly of lovely beings.” Lu said with a slight chuckle in response to Cassiel’s words as he looked about. “Hmm, perhaps we could go this way? I’m not entirely too particular about where we might go, after all, the artists here put out rather exemplary works, hmm?” He chuckled again, gesturing to the way he was headed, but accompanying the slight movement with a rather reluctant shrug. Planning things wasn’t in his particular area of expertise, even simple ones as to which direction to go. The devil lived more in the moment than of excessive forethought. Unbeknownst, at least it seemed, to Morningstar’s knowledge, his small red imp, Ornias, he not seen fit to leave his master be with the golden-haired woman. After vanishing around the corner of a building the imp flew to the top of a building, making sure his small suit was not too ruffled before moving across the roofs of the buildings that were occasionally gapped with alleyways, cluttered with more art, silently cursing the painted canvases in his favored demonic tongue. Whether it was the woman or the master to whom the small demon was loyal to, the small fiend knew only that he did not trust one of them. Perhaps it was both of them and for several various reasons. The three-eyed devil was rather whimsical and care-free, a weakness. And the golden-haired girl was a mystery, but with a vaguely familiar scent, and the feel of holier magics surrounding her, stained from earlier practices of the relative spells. Hidden away above the heads of citizens and guards alike, the imp spied the actions of the two, fully prepared to aid Lucifer if the need were to arise. |

Cassiel nodded to his suggestion and accompanied him. Her eyes gazed at the beautiful pieces of arts. One painting that caught her eye was of a beautiful meadow, and within it were two peaceful dear, and a happy little bunny. The details were superb and the imagery delightfully cute. Cassiel could swear if she just put her hands toward it she would fall in and be in that meadow. It was fun to imagine, but perhaps a little childish so she kept her imagination in her head where it belonged. "I never knew how much talent there could be in one place," she remarked. Some of the paintings that didn't catch her eye were those of combat, legendary battles, or any such thing. She did not like the thought of violence at all, and thus whenever her eyes went over such a thing she had to blank it out. One such image was so realistically brutal that she gasped and had to turn away from it. Perhaps it was a weakness, but she simply could not stand to see even the imitated expression of pain. To get it out, she had to quickly find a more calm and peaceful image to settle her mind a bit. There was then another image that caught her eye of an angelic warrior. It kind of reminded her of her mother, though the image in the picture had silvery hair, a shining sword and bright armor. It was quite beautiful, but the picture beside it almost ruined it for Cassiel, as it was a picture of the same angel fighting some large, grotesque thing, both rather injured. "So much... violence in some of these, isn't there? |

The devil walked next to the Cassiel with a light smile on his face as they examined the various art lining the streets. Truly there were many that showed an exemplary amount of skill with the brush, but few particularly caught his eye. There were so many different pictures which would make one wonder the intentions of the artist, but did little to grab the three-eyed man’s attention. “Yes, this place is particularly artistic, which is why it’s one of my favored places to frequently visit. A good place to find some decorations for my home.” Lu commented with a chuckle as he stopped to look at a picture of a frightening looking red-skinned satyr. The expression on his face dropped for a moment before shaking his head, he knew the being portrayed in the picture, he could collect the money he was owed at a later time. “It’s rather intriguing how a good deal of them seem to spark memories, though I highly doubt that that was the artist’s intention when they worked on the piece.” He chuckled again, before stopping as his companion did to examine a picture of an angelic figure. As Cassiel’s attention drifted off to the picture next to it, the devil leaned in closer to the picture of the angel with a cock of his head, “Reminds me of my sister in her armor.” He commented with a bit of an approving nod before his attention was caught by his new friend’s words as well as the picture of which hers was taken. This piece was the kind he was looking for. “Yes, violence is a very realistic thing, almost frighteningly so, the amount of skill put into drawing a yochlol is amazing.” Though the three-eyed devil did not believe for an instant that the artist could even comprehend how truly disgusting the handmaidens of Lolth, the drow’s goddess known as the spider queen, looked like. That was incentive enough to purchase the portrait, it meant it could very likely hold a seal within it, and be prison to one of the yochlols. A gamble as to whether or not it may give itself to his will upon being freed, but Lucifer was more than willing to take that bet. “However, it is also the scenes like this that prove themselves to particularly be a great imagery akin to that of heroic stature.” He spoke with an almost narrative tone as he carefully picked the canvas from its display, looking it over once more, “the scene of a brave and bold angelic warrior as she strikes down a fearsome creature that even the drow fear!” Before imprisoning the creature in a portrait. He chuckled a bit at the thought as he placed it back upon its display, handing the seller a bag of gold as well, “Dear Lady Cass, would you like the one of the angel’s portrait? It’s of little cost to me.” He said, offering to purchase the… less graphic image for hi companion. |

Lu made a remark about the picture of the angel that got Cassiel's attention. "Your sister?" she asked. If Lu had a sister like that, did that make him an angel? If so he had a rather unique looks for an angel. The possibility made Cassiel wonder, as she herself was the descendant of such a celestial being, not that she went around bragging about it too often. Cassiel thought her companion was disturbingly intrigued by the more violent picture, but she new not everyone was as squeamish as she was when it came to that kind of thing. He even new which creature the angel was fighting within the painting. Yochlol's looked quite disgusting, but she did not thin it deserved to be killed on it's looks alone. In Cassiel's innocent opinion, nothing deserved to be killed. But after marveling over the piece, Lu offered her the other painting of the angel. Cassiel was not used to being offered gifts from new friends. "Oh, thank you, but I couldn't possibly ask it of you," she said, her eyes on the painting of the beautiful painting. It was such a wonderful painting, and as she stared she could feel herself wanting it more. But she could not ask it of him. "Besides, I would have no place to put it." This was both to Lu, and to convince herself away from even thinking of getting it. OOC: My apologies on taking so long. Had a small period of "I don't wanna post"ism >.< |

“Oh, but you’re not asking me, are you?” Lucifer chuckled, “No, I’m offering it to you.” He reasoned. However upon hearing her words, he shrugged, but quickly replief without even so much as a moment’s hesitation, “Then I shall keep it for you until you find a place to put it, if you do not have any particular home, then when you find one, I can give this to you as a housewarming gift.” He said with a light smile on his face, “Besides, I already paid for this painting, the bag I just handed the artist was filled with gold, not silver. It seems a worthy enough price for such exquisitely crafted works of art.” He complimented the artist on the painting of the angelic woman by herself, and let it slide that the picture of the yochlol wasn’t done by the same person. To Lu, at least, it seemed that the heroic posture of the angelic woman was inspired by the enchanted one. “If you would like, Lady Cass, we can resume our browsing of the other fine arts that this city has to offer.” Morningstar suggested with a warm smile. Meanwhile, Ornias, the imp who had been watching the two from the rooftops scowled. He didn’t trust either of them, his master not to do something stupid, or the blonde-haired girl which just reeked of healing magic. To the imp, this all seemed nothing more than a trap set by the good-aligned which hunted all hell spawn, and when Lucifer would be captured due to his own incompetence, it would be Ornias to the rescue… The red imp was very misguided in that thought process, even thinking that the devil hadn’t seen him standing so boldly atop where most would not think to look. Lucifer was more than capable of dealing with such plots, but he saw no ill-intent in this girl. The very girl who didn't seem too interested in a scene of evil being vanquished. |
