| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

She sat on the edge of a fountain, happaly eating a meat pie snagged from a shop about five blocks away. She was crosslegged and more then a bit grungy looking. She was dressed in an ill fitting blue shirt and loose green paints. Under both she wore black tight fighting clothing that she used to stay invisable at night. However, the brighter clothing worked better here in the open. Everyone had bright colors on. There was singing and danceing and all sorts of performers. She watched one with half intrest and she finished her food. The city wasn't a bad place, but she was not sure what else was out there. CUriosity was tempting her to leave this place and look to see what other cities had to offer. - - - - - - - - - About five weeks ago, Aether Draka had been working on a spell. Something she had hoped would grant her better control over her celestial and demonic blood. However, there was an error and the potion was never made. The entire thing exploded. In a panic, the guild leader of the Divshatten decided it was best to shadow jump out of there. She didn't move fast enough and instead of finding herself safely away from the foul magic, she was discovered by an old lady wandering allyways in a daze. She was taken to a medic and they could find nothing wrong with her beyond the fact she had no memory. The healers informed the old woman that it was not really that unusual and aassured her that Aether Draka (no, tey didn't know her name any more then she did) had probably witnessed a terable event and so it had be blocked form her mind. Feeling sorry for the girl, the old woman took her in. However, AD could not stand to stay "home" for long though and soon took to wandering again. Until today... |

So many colorful people and colorful....thingies! There was more color in this place now then the little boy had seen in his entier life, and that was much had had seen in all his years. That was not....well much at all since his life had just started and it was not all to long ago since he actually began to talk correct. Azreal was skipping though the crowd, his green hair was standing out from the fact that the bright color was not his clothes, but his....hair. He was holding a bag with candy in one hand and a small flower in the other, the candy was from mama and the flower he found in someones yard, no one had told Azreal it was wrong to take flowers from other peoples yards. Azreal stopped from time to time when something captured his attention, it was so many things he had never seen before! Good thing the master was not there, that boring man would never have enjoyed this. But maybe he could bring the man a gift? That could cheer him up a little. But because Azreal was so small accidents was not impossible. An adult bumped right into the little boy and the impact caused him to fall backwards, he dropped the bag with candy and the small round candies was spreading out, quickly being crushed under peoples feet. Azreal sat on the street, he looked around....and the eyes looked at the ruined candy, then he looked to his other hand....the flower was....ruined. Why was it sooo mean!? Tears gathered in his eyes, it was just a matter of time before....and he began to cry, it was a sharp sound that pierced though the crowd like a knife. Rivers of tears was moving over the little boys cheeks. |

Hollis was traveling... again. She never stayed to long in one spot, and she knew that. She wanted to get this place explored before she saw her sister again. And that was only a matter of time! Hollis walked through the portal, and into the bright colorful place that was... "Cascadia..." Hollis frowned as she walked on through the portal. She had hopped that she wouldn't get a repeat of the last time she was in this city. What a nightmare! Hollis fit into this city just fine. She was wearing her normal, bright clothes. Her skirt-dress was a bright pink. And, this time, she wasn't wearing shoes. This was something that Hollis had never done before and wanted to see if it would work the way that she hopped it would! Her feet hurt, though, and she had no shoes to put on. So, Hollis walked on the grass. Many people looked at her for a second, as though they wanted to protest, but thought against it... Hollis turned down another street to see a familiar figure sitting, eating a sandwich. Hollis couldn't be sure until she got closer, but she was sure that she saw the demon guild's Leader, Aether Draka. Hollis started to get a little worried. But, when she got closer, the women didn't really look like her...??? Hollis thought. The women had the same hair-do, and had the same color of skin... but she was dressed, just so... Not AD! Hollis walked up to the women, and looked at her for a moment. She didn't know what to say. "....i....i.... Are you... You couldn't be.... could you?!?" Hollis spilled everything out. She wanted to know if this was the sister that she had left. The one that, at the time, was in good conditions. She fine, healthy, ya know. But, this women... Could she really be Hollis' sister? Hollis restarted herself. She got her thoughts straight, then said "...Who, who are you?" She had said this in a nice even tone. She didn't want to give to much away, if anything had happened, and this wasn't her sister! |

Colors swirled everywhere she looked. Performers, singers, dancers, everyone wore bright colors. Except Ainsley. She was there on a chore, but at the moment, the reason had escaped her mind, run out by the sight of so many bright shades around her. She looked around with wide hazel eyes, taking in the streets of this beautiful city, Cascadia. She didn't come here often, only when it was absolutely necessary. The overly-gorgeousness of it made her head hurt. She strolled through the streets and all of a sudden heard a wail coming from about 20 yards away. It sounded as if it came from a very small child, the result of disappointment. She pushed through the crowd, making her way toward the source of the lament. When she broke the crowd, she saw a small boy sitting in the street. Tears were streaming down its face and its lips were quivering with the rest of its body. She noticed the ground surrounding the child. It was covered with crunched pieces of candy and flower petals. She looked back at the crying boy and saw that he was still clinging to a wilted stem, void of petals, and an empty bag that was recently filled with candies. She hated the sight of the little kid crying and decided to do something about it. Her motherly instinct always kicked in in these situations. Even though she had no family of her own, especially not kids, this tendency was always in her, from the day she was born. She cautiously approached him and said in a comforting tone, Hey, little guy. Are you okay? Let's get you outta the way of the other people on this street so you won't get hurt. She didn't wait for a response, just slid her arms underneath his and hauled him onto her hip. He was not a baby and was kind of heavy but she held him securely. They walked over to the fountain and sat down, with him on her lap. So why don't you tell me what happened? Then I'll buy you some more candy and we can go look for an even prettier flower. she said with a smile. She could feel that they were sitting next to someone. She smelled meat, was repulsed. She, herself, was a vegetarian, but she wasn't one to judge. She blocked out these thoughts and focused her mind on the matter at hand: keeping this little boy from crying. She smoothed his soft bright green hair out of his clear eyes and said, So, let's have it. |

Azreal stopped crying at the moment the woman picked him up from the ground, it was not that he was not sad...but he was just more surprised when he was picked up like that. The boy was not heavy, even if he was not a baby he was surprisinly light. Also the small point at his ears revealed that he was partly elf...if not the weird color on his hair told that already. His large eyes looked up at her and his mouth was a little open, making him look surprised and curious at the same time. Azreal was not shy to strangers, he was as outgoing and easy to take contact as his mother. The little boy murmured something lowly and looked down at the ruined flower, he sighed and then he looked back up at Ainsley. His cheeks was still red from the tears and a few of them was still left in the corners of his eyes. "I walked and a bad person walked into me, they ruined my candy and the flower I was going to give mama" he explained. Azreal examined the woman, he watched her face and one of his hands reached to grasp her hair. "Who are you?" |

I walked and a bad person walked into me, they ruined my candy and the flower I was going to give mama said the little boy in response to Ainsley's question. Who are you? he asked as he reached to tug on her hair. She gently took his hand and placed it back in his lap as she let out a little giggle. Aww. I'm sorry, honey. My name is Ainsley. When you tell me yours, why don't we go try to find another flower and I'll go in this shop to buy you some more candy. What do you say to that? she said. She pushed his lime hair back behind his ears, his slightly pointed ears. Hmm. He must be an elf, or part-elf at least. she thought. She looked around to see if maybe this little one's mother was anywhere to be found. Surely no one would let their child roam Cascadia alone. She focused back on the boy's eyes, set above cheeks that were still stained with tears but the red was dissipating quickly. As she waited for an answer, she wondered. She wondered a lot of things: where had this little boy come from? where was she going to get that candy she kept promising? where was his mother? All these thoughts sped through her mind in mere seconds. |

AD was almost finished eating whe some stranger came up to her and starting jabbering at her. She was ignoring the strange girl much like she had the odd inkeeper who had gone on and on about her and some moon elf. If this odd person kept this up, she was going to have to leave. Before she could respond though, a sound of crying reached her ears. She frowned. Then the girl standing in front of her finally manages to get a sentance out. A rather demanding one at that. "I have no idea what you are going on about, but to answer your question, I don't know." She shrugged and stuck the last bit of food in her mouth and got up, putting out and hand to let the stranger know she was not interested in the conversation. At least there was someone else there to distract her. It was not hard to overhear the conversation between a woman and a child next to her. She had no memorry of her own parents, but the old lady had been kind to her. She probablly should give the woman some sort of thank you gift before she left the city. "Excuse me, do you mind if I come with you? I am looking for a gift for my grandmother and I am lacking some insperation..." She offered a smile, hoping that this would at least be helpful in stopping the strange girl from asking her odd questions. |

Hollis stared, baffled, at AD. "You... don't know who you are?!?" Hollis went to seat down when the women stood up. She was just as tall as Hollis' sister was. But... Could this really be AD?!?She thought. Hollis shrugged it off for the moment when a women came and sat down with a little boy with bright green hair and looked as though had just been crying. Then, the first women asked if Hollis would mind helping her. She wanted to get something for her grandmother. Prefect time! thought Hollis as she thought how to explain to this women who she was. Hollis looked around to see that there was a bunch of candy all over the ground and bag laying on the ground. It looked as though this was why the little kid with green hair was crying. Awww, poor kid! Hollis felt around her clothes to see if she had any candy. She pulled out the last piece from her bag, and handed it to the little boy. "There you go little fella'! I hope that helps." Hollis said the last part to the other women. Hollis thought that she looked a little confused to be the mother. But, hey, ya never know! Hollis looked back at AD and said, "...You're..." Hollis stopped and got her thoughts in the right order. Them, she said "So, what would you like to get your 'grandma'?" You could almost, almost, hear the quotes around "Grandma". Hollis was almost 100% sure that it wasn't really AD's grandma, but, she wasn't about to tell her that. If, AD really did lose her mind, then she might not remember anything at all! |

Azreal examined what happened, he did not have time to reply to the things Ainsely said before the others began to talk to them to. The little boy looked at them all and his sadness had mostly been replaced by curiosity. "My name is Azreal A Silver" he replied and sounded a little proud about his name. "I like that idea, I think new candy is good and a new flower for mama" he nodded as that was decided, then he slowly began to crawl down from the womans lap on his own. Back on the ground the child brushed some dirt of his shorts, then he looked at them all. He examined the hand that was holding out a piece of candy towards him, he slowly reached out and took it. "Thank you miss" he commented happily. |

As she was trying to calm the child, Ainsley noticed the pair at her side: two women, one obviously misunderstanding the identity of the second but refusing to back down. After a little while, they agreed on going to find a gift for a grandmother. That's when the stubborn one turned to Ainsley and Azreal, fished around in her pocket, and pulled out a single piece of candy. She handed it to the little guy with a smile, then looked up at her and said, "I hope that helps." Ainsley was grateful of the stranger's kind gesture. She had been wondering how she was going to obtain a bag of candy for this kid. Azreal had climbed down to the ground during the transaction, no longer on Ainsley's lap. Now she didn't know where to place her hands. So she stood up and put them down by her side. The other two women standing there towered above her but she wasn't intimidated. She carried herself with loads of self-confidence and poise. She turned to adress them directly. I couldn't help but overhear that you were looking for a gift for your grandmother. I had just promised little Azreal here a new flower for his mother. Do you think we could maybe work together to find these gifts for our respective recipients? I'm sure with four looking instead of two, we would get done a lot faster. What do ya say? |
