Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Shalia shot the dragon a murderous look. If looks could kill…this dragon would indeed be dead. His jokes were not making her mood any better. Then to top it all off she then found out she was going to be stuck like this for a week! The fur and the tail were annoying enough…but the angel wings irritated her to no end. What in the nine hells did she have to pick those things up?!

“A week?” she hissed. “How in the nine hells do you mix up an hour with a week? Does it run in the family to be a complete fool? Or is it only in the males?”

She honestly did not know how much more she could take from these two. A father who loved jokes. The son who was a complete fool. She wondered what kind of woman could ever have mothered Kaess. And seeing these two made her pray that Kaess would never produce offspring.

Even through her fur, her dragon scales could be seen. Kaess had only seen her scales once before when she had tried to kill him at their first meeting. She desperately wanted to hit something. Ka may be the source of much of her anger, but she knew better than to attack a dragon. Instead she went for the next best thing…Kaess.

In a flash her sword was drawn and she charged at the half-dragon swinging her sword in both hands mustering all the strength she could…

A part of her knew she would likely miss. The half-dragon was very fast. But she was determined to get a good hit on him. As she started to swing he blade at him, she also brought one knee up in an attempt to hit him in the groin. She was hoping that at least one of her two attacks would hit him.

Kaess listened to Shalia and understood her a bit. His dad was a bit hard to understand. Then again his dad never paid attention to the years like other people did. It was some odd dragon perception of time. Still he did wish his dad made more of an effort to learn some basic things. He noted his dad was looking with interest as Shalia turned and charged Kaess.

Kaess sighed as the expected attack came. He moved to the side with a smooth motion staying just out of range of either attack. He still was ready to guard just in case. He was always ready to protect himself, but he found himself going a bit farther. His instincts said there was something dangerous about being hit this time even in the slightest way. “Oh come on I know I was expecting it, but seriously I am not even at fault here.” He knew his pleas would go un-heard. ‘Nothing to do, but wait until she wears out.’

He father spoke while this was going on. “Oh my well that is certainly a bit much. Seriously just a little mistake sets you off. I can see why you like her son. She does have some passion in her. Almost reminds me of your mother. She was a kind enough woman, but she could nearly kill me when she felt like it….” Ka seemed to lapse into thought about his now deceased wife. He looked nostalgic if just a bit sad.

Shalia did not heed what Kaess way saying. True he was not at fault for this, but she still wanted to hit him. There were plenty of other reasons why she wanted to cause him pain. It came to no surprise to her that he dodged her blade. But what happened next did.

Her sword smashed against a rock and then broke into several shards. Her eyes went wide at this. Before this moment she did not realize she had the strength to break a weapon made of steal. Then she realized it must have something to do with what happened when Ka touched her. He must have awakened some sort of power with in her.

But now she had a broken weapon, and still had not hit Kaess. She tossed aside the hilt
of her shattered blade. She would get a new one, it was not like she had any attachments to that blade. In fact she was somewhat glad to get rid of it. It had been a sword she had been given during her time as a slave.

Still enraged she looked at Kaess again. Now she just went to attack him with fists and knees. She really did not care where her blows were aimed, she just wanted to hit him. Hitting him would make her feel a lot better. Especially if she could hit him with this new found strength.

Kaess wasn’t sure what he could do, but decided it was best just to let Shalia burn this off. He didn’t move to dodge everything, but deflected and redirected her blows the best he could. It wasn’t difficult to stop her blows as she wasn’t that good at hand to hand combat. It was clear she also wasn’t used to her new strength. He expected that she would adapt over time, but it wasn’t something you could just learn in one fight. Even so she was now strong enough that he probably would get a few bruises.

‘As if she wasn’t dangerous enough? How long will she keep this up. Oh well nothing to do for now, still dad is going to pay for this latter.’ “Jeez dad I don’t know why you always have to do this. Couldn’t you just make a door that people could actually just walk through without …” Block another blow. “pranking and getting them angry all the time. It really isn’t easy on me dad.”

“Oh come on you can handle it. You seemed to be doing alright to me. A good sparing match always warms the blood. Honestly your mother was one feisty woman. Could hold her own longer than any other woman I have ever known. Oh and after….”

“DAD” He blocked another blow, just barely.

“Sigh what did I do this time? I really just don’t get all these rules you have about things. Saying things one way is alright, but others it not. Oh whatever you kids enjoy and be sure to close the door on your way out.”

Kaess just sighed as he continued to defend himself. Would he ever get his dad to act even a bit better… probably not. Still he was his dad and what could you do?\

Edit: Opps wrong account moved the gold.
