Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

She had heard rumour that this place was amazing for herbs and other plants that were really good for healing potions and natural treatments, so she had travelled here to see what she could find. It wasn’t like she had any idea what she was looking for, but basically anything that smelled good or didn’t have thorns on it, she picked up and put into her small bag. She gathered plants in the Norwood Forest as well, and those ones seemed to serve her well, so she could only hope that these plants were just as good, if not better. Her search of a mage that was talented in the natural remedies still continued, so her own tests to figure it out herself also continued.

Her usual attire could be seen from nearly anywhere in the ruins. Her large, feathery wings clashed in this dark, ruined environment, but there wasn’t much she could do about that. Her really long silvery blue hair and her light blue dress complimented her wings, though. Her feet were covered in thick slippers because that was all she could afford. She had to find an easier way to get better at healing others so that she could earn more per treatment and eventually afford better footwear. She just considered herself lucky that she was able to avoid the colder weather whenever it decided to come around.

There seemed to be a few people here, for it being ruins of a city. Perhaps she wasn’t the only one that was looking for these rare plants and herbs, but she had no way of telling unless she asked somebody... nobody really looked that happy, so she wasn’t about to walk up to anybody in worry that her voice might set them off or something. Could have just been her being her paranoid self, though, too. She breathed deeply, taking in what smelled like stale air and dying plants.

Interesting...Just so interesting. Such large ruins of such a large society with surely with wealth and power behind them and yet now reduced to just what their name implies: Ruin of its former self. A long trail of smoke arced into the sky as Ludo took a long puff off his pipe. Perched on the edge of a broken large pillar he had a good view of the special greenery that grew over the scattered fallen stones. So much greenery....so unlike his desert home. The slightly blue tint from his goggles made the oasis like area seem rather unearthly. As he took another puff on his pipe he thought about the real reason he had come to this place.

Besides being a great all around place to visit for the great ruins Ludo had heard this place had excellent fauna. Plants for almost everything you could imagine. While he himself didn't have an skill in alchemy at least yet he could at least turn a profit on this trip. Glancing to his right Ludo smiled slightly at his bulging Satchel full of the various Herbs and such he had rounded up. They were gonna put quite a good bit of cash in his pocket, but on plant though he would keep for himself.

He had found a kind that he didn't know anything about an even after asking a few of the other folks poking around they couldn't give him an answer either. For some strange reason though he had thought he had seen it before and it did look like a strain of tobacco so he had lit it up in his pipe. And before even his third puff he knew this was some good stuff. Now with his sixth puff he blew a smoke ring into the air as he sat and tried to enjoy the rest of his day.

Another breath and she couldn’t help but cough. She’d never smelled anything so foul in her life. She looked around to see where the smell was coming from, and spotted somebody sucking on some sort of pipe and blowing out clouds. She walked over to the stranger sitting on the edge of a large, broken pillar and asked, “What is that?” she asked, meaning to ask about the tobacco, but she had no idea what it was called. “It doesn’t smell good, whatever it is.” She said, crossing her arms, waiting for him to respond.

If he would be so polite to answer her, she would then know what to avoid picking, if he even got it from the ground here. She looked up, having to squint to see him because the sky was still fairly bright with the sun. Even though it was cloudy, the sky was still bright enough. It seemed that it wasn’t even mid-day yet. She found it a bit amusing that he was actually wearing goggles, though. As far as she was aware, goggles were meant for looking around underwater. She wouldn’t judge him for it, though.

Who knew, maybe he would have a bit of food to share. It had been a while, after all, but that’s usually where her falcon familiar really helped her out. For some reason she didn’t understand, her falcon wasn’t coming around to check on her or even answering to her smooth whistles. She was starting to worry, but she had no way of finding her familiar if she ever were to get curious. She could share sight with the falcon, but she wouldn’t do that right now, not when she was having a conversation with a stranger. She would surely ask him if he had any grub to share, but she thought she’d wait for his response to her first question first. She didn’t want to sound like some sort of detective or... whoever else that liked asking lots of questions...

Ludo stared into the nice clouds in sky. Big and fluffy just like cotton. They didn't get clouds that big in the desert so it was nice to just sit and watch the puffy giants and almost hilariously funny were the mini versions that Ludo was puffing out of his pipe. Just as he was getting ready to make another of the little things he heard someone speak.

Ludo looked from side to side checking to see where that nice voice had come from, but then of course realized he was quite a bit up from the ground. So he looked down from the pillar for the mystery speaker, then he saw her. Ludo had been holding in the smoke from his last puff in his mouth after he had paused to find the speaker but now released it with a hacking cough of surprise after seeing the beautiful woman below him. Her pale skin looked almost like she hadn't ever really been in sun like he had. Smiling a bit he also noted her lovely long hair but even better and raised even more questions were the pair of wings on her back.

As Ludo stared at her wings he almost forgot to answer he question. " I don't know, but whatever it is this plant seems to be even better then tobacco and doesn't seem to have any side effects or anyth-" Just as he was speaking Ludo's skin started to tingle all over and break out in a cold sweat. Standing up from his perch he looked down into his shivering hands as his legs started to go numb. As if his whole body was "Falling asleep" Ludo felt the numbness creep up from his legs and was advancing up his waist. Even though he could fell his body he had to try and get down from this pillar and get some help but just as he tried to take a step his body started to totter dangerously over the front edge of the pillar. The numbness had extended to his arms as his vision increasingly showed more and more of the ground below. Finally gravity prevailed and Ludo tumbled off the edge of the pillar and only had time to shout, "Help! Poisoned." before nosediving into the dirt.

Lyvian had no idea what to think of this guy. She couldn’t help but wonder why anybody would want to inhale smoke, or anything else for that matter. She found it rather disturbing that he enjoyed whatever feeling it gave him, or whatever affects it had on him. She frowned when he coughed harshly, wondering why he did that to himself. She had never seen anybody inhale smoke like that, but she wasn’t that curious about it.

The only thing that made her curious was what he was doing moving back and forth like he was up on that pillar. If he wasn’t careful, he’d fall... and soon enough, he did. She had nothing to catch him with, and nothing to even cushion his fall, so she simply stepped aside and knelt beside him after he made contact with the ground. “What poison?” she asked calmly, showing no emotion other than confusion. She didn’t have the skills to neutralize poison, nor anything else that had to do with the interior of the body. Lyvian only knew how to heal wounds. She rolled him over so that he was lying on his back, and straightened his legs for him so that she’d be able to see more easily if there were any broken bones from the fall.

She looked up toward where he stood on the pillar, then made a guess at how far of a fall that was. Surely, he’d have some internal bleeding from the impact, so she cast her Greater Heal spell to make sure there would be no internal bleeding. She knew that the spell wouldn’t get rid of whatever he was talking about ‘poison’. So, she didn’t even try. She didn’t have any herbs gathered in her bag, either, so it wasn’t like she could make a wild guess about which herb to use for him. She sat quietly, watching what he was doing and would listen to any words he spoke.
