Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

How...They were mere mercenaries!? Wolfbane infused weapons? They got extract of this flower to oil their blades! Nasty bunch of mercenaries! All that for gold eh? They were no better then the werewolf himself! Suddenly, suddenly a spasm shook Brahms. He went on all fours and spat blood on the grass. Now look at him, he was once a fearful beast, he was now down to a pitiful struggling man. He needed power, he would get power... If he survived that is. Unfortunetly, the flower's effect were nastier then expected: they stopped his regeneration. His frustration was the only thing that kept him moving. He walked, but it was taking most his strength.

He crushed one head of the mercenaries, and kept on walking... Each of his step, heavier. his sight, was getting blurred. Kneeling in the herb. Brahms looked at the sky cursing heaven and hell for the fate they had given him. He had to be possessed by a demon who wanted his due before time. And since he was evil, the agents of goods were after him. He dispised all, he would crush everyone one. There was the celestial realms to get into, only once he get the powers for it. But for now, life, and powers were slipping away from him... His head smashed the ground. Was this...the end? Dying....Alone?

This cold feeling, solitude.... The rest of the guild was nowhere near either. Why would they? They all had other things to take care off until AD got a plan....

Now she could say she had been here before. The first time around, she had met a centaur, but he was just a nice acquaintance. Coming back here, she couldn’t help but wonder if they would cross paths again. She hoped that he had found his way to the village just fine.

As she continued through the forest, simply looking at all the herbs and other flowers, she suddenly stopped in her tracks, and looked around her. She carefully folded her wings so she could see further around her, tucking her long, silvery blue hair behind her ears so it stayed out of her face. She looked around her carefully, taking her time as she listened for any movement...

The winged elf spotted something not far in a clearing, so she rushed over, using her feathery wings to keep her steps light and swift. She came up to the clearing, and saw nothing but dead bodies. She covered her mouth and nose with both of her hands as she looked across the ground, wondering what had gone through the area that could cause such damage. On second thought though, she wasn’t so sure if she actually wanted to meet whoever it was. It looked like the work of a mad group of demons... but she wasn’t exactly one to guess correctly.

She heard something thud on the ground, and looked over, her eyes wide with fear of not knowing what she was walking into. She carefully stepped closer, and once she was just a few feet away, she saw that he was breathing.

“Hey!” she greeted him, excited to find somebody had survived this terrible event. “Are you okay? What happened here?” she asked, not even noticing that he was injured in any way. By his lack of movement, she figured he was just exhausted from the battle. “Are you hurt?” she asked again, kneeling beside him and gently placing a hand on his shoulder. She definitely stuck out like a sore thumb here, with her feathery wings and light blue dress. That wouldn’t stop her from trying to help someone though...

Who...was speaking to him? A woman? He turned around, he could see the long hair, the shape of a woman but also, the strangest of things she had wings! An angel? Was it a sign for atonement or sheer luck laughing at Brahms. His eyes were blurred,he could not see very well. He had to try... To get help. Lifting one of his bloodied hand, who was ealier claws slicing through his foes, to the woman.

''H-help....me...''

This was his last effort. His arm fell heavily on the ground. Counsciousness was no more, so Brahms awaited that angel to guide him... Hell or Heaven seemed to await him. It was time for his judgement, even if he knew the decision.

Slowly but perceptivly enough, the grass under brahms was turning red, his breathing was slower and his pulse weaker... There was not much time for him left.

Without hesitation, she whispered the words to the Greater Heal spell, finding the wounds and concentrating her energy to close any and all wounds so that he’d stop bleeding. Those spots would still be tender, but at least it would be a lot easier for him to heal, then.

After closing all the wounds, she noticed that the greater heal spell did more than just heal his wounds. It was only her second time using the spell, so she didn’t know what it was capable of just yet. She smiled when she saw the wounds fully healed with that spell. She wasn’t sure if he would wake up right away or not, though. Still, she stayed by his side, determined to help him more. He was an elf, after all, from what she could tell.

“You're okay...” She said gently, “You’ll be okay, now. I don’t know if you can hear what I’m saying, but I’ll take care of you.” She told him, feeling sorry for him. For some reason, she felt the need to comfort him more than she usually would for anyone else. She never had any idea about how these people got hurt. Anybody she helped was always hurt really badly. Some took longer than others, but now that she learned a stronger spell, she knew she’d be able to help even more people now. It didn’t even strike her to wonder how they got so hurt. It was simply her concern to see that they lived beyond whatever that experience was...

The body's regeneration went to give energy to Brahms's counsciousness. He opened slowly. His sight gaining focus. A winged elf? Rare, beautiful. It had taken him a few minutes before regaining his senses. He kneeled to lookd at her a bit more, his gray eyes were admiring this woman. This situation was différent from all else, she was not mean did not look like someone who is manipulating others.

He stood up and lend his hand so could get on her legs. When he did so, he saw the dried blood on his hands. He stroke it on his pants.

''Arr.... Name's Brahms Wildheart. Guess i owe ya my life... What's the name of this sweet lady?''

He smelled her scent. Nothing celestial, so he had no worries. He could...try to make her his own. A nice woman like her, healer, he would be unstoppable. And power was not by itself, but in group. She would be thé first.

She relaxed a bit when he woke up and was able to stand on his own. She accepted his hand and stood up, feeling proud that she was able to heal him so easily. She brushed off anything that stuck to her dress from the ground, and looked up at him, not even feeling intimidated by his large, tall structure.

She smiled kindly at him, nodding when he introduced himself. “Nice to meet you, Brahms.” She said, “My name is Lyvian Yurrows, and you don’t owe me anything. I’m just glad I was able to help you.” She said, picking up her quarterstaff from where she left it on the ground when she was kneeling beside him. “What caused all this?” she asked, looking at him carefully. “I’m not assuming this was your doing, but you are the only survivor, so I don’t exactly have anybody else to ask.”

She didn’t want him assuming that she was placing blame on him. She was just wondering why anybody would ever want to cause so much destruction, or why anybody would take so many lives at once. She would never fully understand people that desired such madness.

She folded her hands over her stomach, looking around the clearing. It was not much of a clearing anymore, with all the dead bodies laying around, but it certainly wasn’t a place she wanted to stay in for much longer. “Would you mind if we walk? I think this sight is making me feel sick.”

Brahms looked at the blood bath, and was proud of him. A eight versus one and he turned them to pieces. Even with their oiled weapon they got beaten. Totally first class slaughterer. Next to her,was a beauty, sicken by the view of this massacre but proud to have have saved the life of the lycan. Him was taking lives, her was saving them. They were opposite and yet.... She was generous, innocent. The easy target like the beast usually likes. But...hunger was not the feeling. It was different.

'' I'm the one who did that...but lemme explain...''

He passed his muscled arm around her shoulders, so that way, even while turning her head around, she could not see his deed. He stood silent, thinking the best he could to explain while....skipping some details.

''These bounty hunters wants my head since I try to make a world for my people. But... They see only evil in animals shape shifters... I try to make their view change but...so far,not a chance....''

Her heart jumped a moment, and her muscles froze when he admitted that he was the cause of all this. However, she calmed down rather quickly once he explained. His arm somehow felt comforting when he put it over her shoulders. She didn’t fight it when he helped block her sight from the bloody mess. She tried to understand, but she still didn’t see why he had to kill all of them.

“Why wouldn’t you spare one so that he could send the message back to his fellows?” she wondered, not even thinking about how cruel that would be, to send fear into the hearts of those of where ever these bounty hunters came from. She didn’t fully understand what bounty hunters were, so her question was simply based off what she had heard about tactics to get a message across to those who really needed to know. “So, I guess it was out of self defence, then?” she asked, making sure she understood his reasoning.

She started to wonder if it was even worth trying to change their views at all if it had to come to this. As they walked away from the mess, she started to feel a bit better. If he was able to defend himself from that many, she figured he might be willing to defend both of them if anybody else decided to take a stand. After all, Lyvian had no idea how to fight. Sure, she had a quarterstaff, but that didn’t mean she knew how to use it.

Brahms was surprised to see his lies worked. Oh well, it was not totally false. He did wanted people to change their views about lycan as superior beings, he would need to get an army of his own to wage war. He could start with the bandit camp, then Kellen. Yes,that sounded like a good idea. Thé bandits already worked under the ideology of the leader is the stronger.

''Dear, it's a war, why no one talks about it is simply because they don't mind lycans to die. If i would have let one of them survived, they would have put a better tactic to kill me...and perhaps they would have sucee.d so no, it delays their revenge until someone tells them the bloodbath here....''

It was true, though. Highly possible. Though, there was more then simply finding the corpses, they also would need to be recognized. And that was the most complicated part.

''I got the claws to strike at my enemies, me and a friend, but i lack the tongue to recover from our wouns.''

So he called it a war... but she thought wars were globally recognized and fought as a whole. It was probably closer to a battle between races, rather than it being a whole war. She frowned, nonetheless finding it upsetting that they couldn’t get over their differences. “So... which animal in particular are you related to?” she asked, obviously having no idea how to tell what he was. She had met a wide range of races, but she didn’t spend enough time around them to recognize specific attributes.

Lyvian wasn’t entirely sure what he was trying to get at when he stated that he had the claws to make wounds, but lacked the ability to heal wounds. She was starting to get a bit uncomfortable by this, so she reached up to his arm, lifting it in attempt to remove it from her shoulders. If he moved his arm willingly, she’d simply step to the side a bit to create a space between them. If he wasn’t so willing to move his arm, she would stop walking and question his actions. It would be a first if somebody ever declined her request because of her calm and caring nature.

She wouldn’t call to her familiar just yet, because she still wasn’t sure about how she felt about this stranger. Well, he wasn’t really a stranger because she knew his name now, but she didn’t understand his motives just yet. She always made sure to avoid putting her familiar into danger. The falcon usually just made large circles around her in the air if he sensed danger. She glanced up at the sky momentarily and she didn’t see him flying around, so she figured everything was okay. At least, she really hoped everything was okay.

Of course he had been in human form, it was hard to guess. He stopped walking, focusing for the transformation to happen slowly. First, the hair of his arms became so intense it was fur, same process for his feets. His nose getting larger, and his pintch became a beard, then covered his face completly. His bones grew bigger, his nails became claws. And then he howled to the sky. The Alpha werewolf in all it's glory. Heigth reaching over eigth feet, and wigth almost a ton of brute and feral muscles.

''I would like you to be one of my brethren, to make you see the way my kind sees. And they would need one of your talents too. How people harm us at time, can be a real nigthmare...

Just like he had been earlier. He simply hope that she would accept the gift of lycanthropy. The scent, the strength, the agility it gives. It is truly a gift. Though Brahms was just not totally aware of one thing, afflicted transformed only at full moon. And then they boyed to thé Alpha who bite them.

She walked a bit forward, then stopped to watch what he was doing. She would never have expected him to just transform right then and there. It must have taken quite a bit of confidence and trust on his part to do it so slowly. As far as she had heard, shapeshifters in the form of their animal counterparts were much more vulnerable to whatever weaknesses they had. It only confused her further when he said he wanted her to be one of his brethren...

Truth be told, she had never actually seen a werewolf standing still calmly before. Actually, she had only heard stories about their full moon rampages. She had to admit though, they were quite beautiful –handsome- creatures. “Well, I would love to help you, but I’m afraid I don’t fully understand what you mean by me being ‘one of your brethren’. Nobody had ever used that phrase around me before.” She cautiously stepped closer to him, holding a hand out toward him to touch his fur. It seemed that she was immediately curious, at least, about what he was. If he leaned down so they were face to face, she would touch the fur on his neck, a smile growing across her face as she felt the texture of it. If he remained standing tall, she’d simply reach for his hand/wrist, her hands gently caressing the fur, feeling his muscles underneath.

She wasn’t even thinking about what it was she was doing. Lyvian just had this strange feeling inside her, that she just wanted to spend more time around him. “How exactly would I see the way your kind sees?” she asked, looking up into his eyes, that soft, curious smile still accenting her features.

Brahms smiled as she walked around thé winged elf. She was beautiful, she was good hearted, she was easy to corrupt. She would be a worthy ally on his quest to raise a lycan dominant nation. With her healing powers, and the lycan tougness, he would never go down.

He put his nose againts her hand to smell her. Sweet. If she wouldn't transform, she'd be a nice meal. Then he lowered his head to allow the woman to caress his fur and kept on explaining.

''Well, why don't you become one of us? A lycan. This way you would understand me, about how we see things. Perception is hard to explain.''

He slowly got his jaws closer to her lap as she continued to let her hand explore his fur and then violently and surprising bite her. It wasn't deep, but it was still a good bite, wounds due to an animal attack. He stepped back.

''Don't panic, this pain is little forthe power i give you in returns.''

Her smile immediately disappeared when he asked her to become a lycan. She wasn’t so sure about it, but it would definitely put things into perspective. Maybe it wouldn’t be too bad after all. It would certainly give her more strength, and it would give her people that would help her if she ever got into trouble. She had yet to find herself in a dangerous situation, but that wasn’t saying she’d never be in one.

Next thing she knew, his teeth were digging under her skin. She screamed from the pain, using her wings to more quickly jump away from him, looking down at where he bit her and immediately put her hands over it, whispering the words to Greater Heal. She could feel that the spell didn’t work, and it only proved further that it didn’t work when she moved her hands to look at the wound again. She didn’t understand why the spell wouldn’t work. It worked on any other wound.

Surprisingly, she wasn’t mad at him. She was in a lot of pain, yes, but any visible anger was not directed at Brahms, but moreso at the fact that the wound didn’t heal when she wanted it to. Lyvian was used to healing right away, so it was very weird for her, to actually have to put up with the pain. “In return of what?” she asked quickly, looking up at him. If she ever wanted to change her mind now, she wouldn’t really have the choice to. Now that he gave her the power of a lycan, she knew she would have to fulfill the deal by healing him and his comrades whenever they needed it.

A few minutes after he bit her, Brahms would be able to see a change in her hair colour and the feathers in her wings somehow didn’t look as soft anymore, but stronger. Her hair colour would change from silvery/blue to a darker greyish/brown. The white feathers darkened to a bleak grey as well. This change didn’t happen within seconds, it was more like a change over a couple of hours. Lyvian would not be able to feel the change happening. All she’d know was that her body was changing with the lycanthropy she was now cursed with.

Don’t panic.

For him to say that right away, she further believed that she’d be able to trust him. Maybe the others that he bit had panicked, but she wasn’t usually one for panicking anyway. Somehow, she always managed to keep calm. She kept her eyes on him now, stepping back a bit more to get a better look at his wolf form. Or was it lycan form? She didn’t know the difference now, her mind felt like it was running in circles 400rpm. Only time would tell to see how many other surprising things this lycan would do.

The werewolf observed his new acolyte in becoming. He was smiling, though a bit sceptic. Her healing magic was not working on her. Perhaps it was the fact that his bite was made to transform, more then actually hurt her. The monster walked up to her, raised both hands, as a sign of non-agression, something in her smell, was changing.

''Calm down, sister... You're body is accepting the change, you just need to personnaly accept it. Those who sees it as curse, are the ones who plagues our pride race. We need to convince them, this is a gift. Though you need to see it yourself to begin with.''

He wanted to see her, to get her change. To have a healer amongts the lycan, would be beneficial. Now, what would she do with this gift? Brahms was getting excited, what would she be?
