| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

So she wanted the huge and bulky human to die? So be it. With a smash of his palm againts the nose, broke the bone and it entered the brain of the man, who was now nothing but a mass of dead meat. With his size and weigth, the girl would never have found the way to kill such a man with subtlety. Lifting the massive man thanks to his vampire strength, the assassin slammed him againts the door of the kitchen, this way, it attracted the men inside, outside. As soon as they got out, the katane slipped into the shadows. Both co-chefs were stunned to see this half-giant dead. And of course they called for the guards. As they went to look for them, Illianis climbed this was and hopped on the roof. From there he could see his apprentice getting into some backalleys. Quickly getting down the building, he stopped as he heard guards patrols. One of them was trying to pierce the shadows with his sight, at the very spot where the half-vampire was. But after a couple seconds, he continued with the others. This guard would get far if he sensed the vampire's presence. Then once the guards gone, Illianis rushed to the girl. -Not bad. But next time we have a stealth training, you are on your own. I won't always be around. So... What you think of living into the shadows? |

She looked at him confused, “Living in darkness? I’ve done it before, but why would I want to? The sun is so cozy and warm.” She said, not understanding what he meant by living in the shadows. She picked a spot on the ground to sit, and opened her bag. “There’s enough for both of us.” She told him, unwrapping the meat and grabbing one to eat, taking small bites so she was sure to enjoy the whole thing. Nothing was ever as exquisite as how this steak was cooked. She doubted she’d ever find anything the same way again. She especially didn’t want to be facing a fat monster again. She took in a deep breath between a couple bites, mostly smelling the steak in her hand. “Why won’t you be around if you’re calling it training?” she asked him, watching the entrance to the alley as well as the half vampire. It still boggled her mind that she was actually sticking around this guy. Normally, she’d run as quickly as she could away from any vampire she saw, but when they were on a city that floated thousands of feet in the air above the earth, there wasn’t exactly anywhere to run to. Perhaps when they finally returned to the earth, she’d have her chance... maybe... But then again, she had yet to understand why exactly this man was wanting to train her to live how he lives. She initially agreed because he had threatened her with his dagger at her throat, but she’s done a couple of things for him now, so she wanted to better understand what was going through his head. She didn’t even know his name yet, and he was making all these demands. Whatever stealth training was, it didn’t sound very safe. She agreed with herself that she would make some demands of her own before they did anything else. |

''I meant the shadows of society. The side where beings like us can live, and only with our ways to do things.'' The kid did not understood it seems, so he explained. Life of an assassin is not an easy one. Thus the idea to make a guild for assassins would help others, but the fact to share missions with a bunch of them was not quite enjoyable. Perhaps missions could be set on différent levels? So depending on the skills of some of them. Atleast the meat was cooked well, no blood appeared. Even though the girl made a bloodbath out of a drunkard the thirst had no kicked in yet. Though he knew he'd get it sooner or later. He lowered his scarf from around his face, took a steak and bite roughly with his teeth. In silence he finished his snack. ''Simply, with times i will witness how you devellop. If your stealth is average, you will get spotted easily. Thus why others skill kicks in. Evasiveness, blade expertise, magical abilities if you have any. Alchemy migth prove useful for smoke bombs. A true assassin is someone who stays alive no matter the situation.'' The katane was trying to get her in touch with the mindset of an assassin. For now he was teaching her the basics, the survival, the killing. Then he would teach her the business side of the profession. His personnal touch in the drow technics he learned. Though, they felt easy with magic, enhancing their perfomance. He would later on need to know more about magic. Perfection of the body and the mind, then the arcane. ''From this day forth, call me Master Illianis.'' Edited by Illianis, Sat Nov 27, 2010 6:06 am.

She listened to him carefully, trying to understand what he meant by living in shadows of society. She certainly had her ways of living, but she wasn’t so sure about the way he was trying to teach her. It seemed to be the way that her mother had went, but she ended up getting murdered. It could have been from crossing the line with somebody, or it could have been a misunderstanding of some sort. Either way, Rimmon didn’t really want to go that way. “Who said I wanted to be an assassin?” she asked him after finishing the steak that she had taken from her bag. “I only killed that drunk because I felt like you would kill me if I didn’t! And now I just feel like hurting everybody, and I don’t like it!” she yelled at him, wrapping up the meat she stole and putting it back into her backpack, and placing the straps of her backpack over her shoulders. “I’m finished calling anybody master! I’ve had enough of that!” With that said, she stormed out of the alleyway and started toward the street that had all the public stores on it. She wanted to get off this city, but the only way to do that was if she had gold to pay for the transportation back to the rest of the earth. Funny thing was she had no way of earning money here. She figured the people here could care less about what an orphan could do. So her only option was to steal... yet again... except this time, she would have to take a lucky guess about where she could steal it from. She didn’t look back to see what that vampire was doing, as she didn’t care if he chased after her or not. She didn’t understand why he cared so much about her in the first place, so she didn’t see any reason in sticking around only to learn how to kill more people. To learn how to be an assassin... |

It was the first time in ages, Illianis had a facial reaction,an emotion passing in his face: surprise. Though it simply meant eyebrow getting a bit upper on his face. But still, that child did not get a thing. She did not understood. The kill, the stealth. Even how the elven katave looked. Was it stupidity? Innocence? Pride? No, she had none, and Illianis had a bit too much. You never say no to a deal made out of one the best assassin there is. She would accept, and she would learn. Illianis finished his meat and decided to go after her. After all, she could run, but not hide. He climbed on a roof-top just like spiders, and looked in the direction she took. Wait, she was not hiding? She was getting in the market places, well late at nigth, there was not much people. Time passes fast under stressing situation, after all, killing a man and stealing from the barracks was kind of stressing. He looked nearby where he could appear from. He concentrated, and in a fraction of a second he was in front of the girl with his dagger of torment in hand. -Don't you get it? People fear demonic beings they all want you dead. Those who lives in the shadows wants you as their pets. I am the only one who can get you a life on your own. Or we end everything ... |

She jumped a little when he suddenly appeared in front of her, but glared at him right away. “Everyone keeps telling me that everyone else wants me dead, but hey look, I’m still alive!” she said, not reacting to him having his dagger out. Either she knew he didn’t want to hurt her, or she just simply didn’t care anymore. Both were foolish to assume, but her mind was still that of a child’s, so she didn’t know how to distinguish between smart and foolish thoughts. Although her body was older now, her mind was still grappling the concept. “Most people just see me as some orphan kid with no abilities, so why would they want me dead? I’m no threat to them!” Even though she knew it was because she didn’t know what her abilities were that was causing all her bad luck, she wasn’t sure about admitting it. She wanted to learn, but she never pictured herself learning from a vampire. “Why do you care, anyway? Vampires are the ones that killed the rest of my family, so what’s stopping you from killing me? Why don’t you just get it over with?” She pushed passed him, not waiting for any answers and kept walking as if she was looking for a certain store. She partly expected him to follow, so she kept talking, “Just let me get something.” She said, walking into an armour store. She must have spent at least half an hour in there before deciding what it was she wanted. Of course, she had no gold, so there was only one solution. She smiled at the cashier as she walked in, pretending to just look around for a while. Then, she found a pair of leather bracers that she thought might come in handy. She didn’t have any clothing that covered her forearms anyway, so she thought it might be good for stopping anyone from hitting her with a weapon. She doubted they would work against all weapons, but it was at least a start. She looked up and down the aisle as if looking to see what else there was on the shelves, but she was actually looking to see if anybody was watching her. When she saw it was safe, she casually walked back to the bracers, and quickly placed them inside her bag. She already knew there wasn’t a tag or anything on it saying the price, so she put them straight into her bag, moving to the other side of the aisle in case somebody saw her fiddling with her bag. When somebody did, she simply explained she was looking for her coins and realising she didn’t have any, so she then made her exit from the store, thanking the cashier for letting her browse. It was as though she had stolen before... perhaps a couple of times. She appeared about seven years old, but her eyes told a story of a century. She didn’t even look to see where Illianis was, and quickly headed away from the store. Once she could no longer see the store, she grabbed the bracers out of her bag and fitted them to her small arms. The leather was dark enough to kind of match the rest of her dark outfit, so she thought they looked pretty cool. A life of her own, eh. She could go for that. She breathed deeply for a moment, then looked at Illianis, her expression showing deep thought. She was still contemplating on whether she was willing to listen to a vampire or not... |

Surprise appeared in the face of Illianis. The first in a long time, if people that had passed with him were still alive and present, they would have been the surprised ones. But just the eyebrows simply a bit higher. But anyway, the surprise was th girl, in fact the stupidity of the girl. Or was it her innocence. Illianis never knew what was innocence, even at five years old he was serious, at six he was mentally as wise as a common adult drow. His first memory, the oldest kept in his brain: three drow adultsm two males and one female watching the fifty child of the house. Even though the watchers told the kids to ''not harm the harm the experiment, they did not do a thing to avoid the injuries Illianis got. That's when he understood that ''harm'' and ''kill'' were the same in drow language. Even the had no place for the word ''love'' the closest was ''reproduction''. Even in common language it mean't nothing for Illianis. It is an emotion calling beings for the reproduction. The katane snapped back to reality when the girl passed him by. He followed her in the shadows. What was she? Who was she? Why did she brougth back memories? What was her story? He looked at her enter a shop. She was going to steal. He followed her in the alleys. Bracers. Was she thinking to still follow him? Wait, there was something in her, by her eyes... ''A year, after that you are free. No more training, you will have the skills and ability to pass through any problems you migth encounter. You may live as you want after wards.'' |

It was called innocence. After this year was up, she probably wouldn’t have any left. She was still very young, as far as demons went, so there was only so much of common sense and understanding that she could gather at a time. “Only a year? Wow, you’re generous.” She mumbled, being sarcastic about it. But a couple minutes of thinking about it, one year was actually fairly generous. It was only one year, after all. That’s a lot of hours to put in for training, but it would definitely pay off in the end. “One year is nothing compared to how long I had to stay with those Drows.” She said, as if it was no big deal to mention it. The child didn’t mind talking trash about those Drows. After all, they did nothing but betray her in the end. “I agree to your terms.” She said finally, holding out a hand to shake. She had only shook hands a couple of times before, but this time, she hoped she was actually making the right decision. She wasn’t walking to anywhere in particular, she was mainly just checking out her leather bracers. Each tree that she walked by, she whacked her arm against the tree, feeling how strong the bracers were each time, looking them over to see there was no damage after each time. She was curious about how they’d protect her against sharp weapons, but she didn’t really want to find out just yet. Not unless she had to. Her black eyes told a long, dark story, but somehow she still managed to keep her innocence. Anyone else probably would have gone on a killing spree by now. There was something holding her back, but she was sure to never share it. She would probably gain the majority of her powers the day she admitted it, though... |

So, she migth have wanted more? Of course a demonic blooded girl and an elf, half-vampire at that, who could ive to a maximum of three thousand years. One year was indeed nothing for both of them. DROWS!? So that was the thing they had in common. It was affecting him, a strange way. He had...empathy. Him? An assassin? With empathy? As well as getting retired now! No, it simply meant he wouldn't be able to kill her. Luckily for him he was deep in his mind when she talkedabout vampires who killed her family. They did as worst with him! They turned his mother into a vampire the moment she was giving life, thé process of vampirisation was half done on the baby. They didn't know that but they shared a similar life. He shaked her hand, with good intentions.... Not business like as he always did. He looked at her trying her bracers. What was her secret? ''Well then, perhaps you can tell me your name?'' |

The girl sighed, her thoughts suddenly going back to what her father said about her name. “I was named after an ambassador from Hell. My father told me my hair was as red as fire when I was born, so my parents named me Rimmon.” She ran a hand through her dark red hair shortly after they shook hands, and looked at him to see his reaction to her name. There was no point in asking him what his name was, seeing as he already introduced himself as Master Illianis. She supposed that if she was going to be his disciple, then she’d call him Master. Not for any other reason though. There wasn’t much going through her mind right now. The majority of her questions were already answered, and any questions remaining would get answered in due time. She was curious about how they would continue the training now. She really hoped he could help her on making better use of her dagger though, holding it right and how to block others’ attacks with it. Her father had given it to her as a gift on her one hundredth year. One of her brothers was going to help her, but of course, that never happened. Then, for some reason, she decided to elaborate on her name. “My middle name is Chelsea. The mistress liked calling me Chelsea, but the Drow master liked calling me Little Chells. See, he had these potions that he tested out on me... for about three years... they were all sorts of potions that turned me into cats of all kinds. Different sizes, different colours... he almost made me blind when he tried changing my eye colours...” she said, deciding to end it there. She felt like if she talked for too long, Illianis would lose interest and not even hear everything she said. So, saying a little bit at a time seemed to be better for now. At least, until she understood him better. |

Illianis looked at the girl. Well, that was pretty strange the name of a male demon. What have been her parents to name a child this way? Cultists? Anyway, he simply asked for a name, not the origins. He would need to talk about that, keeping théeinformation minimal to one question. If she was captured and tortured, she would need to restrain herself from talking. Anyway, one of the code is: If you can't kill you target, kill your client. A simple code to end any trouble and to keep a réputation clean of any failure. Even Drows had more taste name wise. But their good taste ended there. All this torture to child, infants, babies... To have the elite race of all the world. They would one day get a taste of what they deserves. ''First, when you are asked something, give the shortest answer. Secondly, if we ever have a contract getting us into Menzoberranzan, we will have our revenge.'' The half-vampire made, once again a sign to follow him. He headed straigth for the station of the griffons, the creatures used by the town for walking travelers. On the way, he asked with looking at Chelsea:''Say, what you told about vampires?''It was both a test and by curiosity. Since they had so far one enemy type in common. Had they two? He would like to know... |

Well, that was a first: being told to talk less. She had learned to talk a lot more with the Drows she stayed with, describing how she felt and explaining herself, even why she did or did not understand something. It was also the first that she ever had to deal with contracts. She didn’t understand what those were, but now that she was told to talk less, she wasn’t so sure if she should ask or not. Especially since nobody had ever spoken to her about vampires. “I wasn’t told anything about vampires.” She said simply, wanting to explain more, but holding herself back. She didn’t want to get in trouble. However, about the contracts and revenge, she really felt like she had to say something... “But the Drow mistress isn’t there. Somebody already taught the Drow master a lesson.” She said, feeling like she’d get hurt if she didn’t explain herself, so she stepped slightly away from him just in case he would do anything. Rimmon didn’t understand why he needed revenge, but even so, she knew she would not be able to stop him from trying. She was happy to see that they were heading back toward the griffons, suddenly in a better mood to know they were getting off this floating city. She was enjoying the sights, but she knew that there could be a lot more done elsewhere. If she stayed here, she was basically trapped here until she found gold. If she went back down to the rest of the world, freedom was waiting for her. |

She wasn't told a thing about the vampires? So they had abandonned to have the blood-sucking hybrid project. No wonder, the surprising death of a matron ,the one that the half-vampire was serving in his training was a masquerade, a set-up. Made by whom? No one migth ever know. So with both the drows and the vampire society blaming eachother in an underground was, thé project had to be left aside...maybe not. Vampires could seek other races to blend their powers with. Once in front of the griffon's riders barracks. Illianis knocked,it took a few minutes before someone open. -uuuhn....? Wait till sunrise....we only work at dayligth. Illianis put his vampire's charms in play, his green eyes into the brown ones of the guards. Atleast, this one just wok up, so his mind was not strong enough to figth back. ''Come outside feel the fresh breeze of the night. You could be feeling better in your sleep after.'' The guards was looking hypnotized when he closed thé door on them. A minute later, he came back with his accessories on, seemingly, his free will. He got his griffon ready on jumped on him. Just behind him was Illianis. ''I double the usual price and you don't recall making a lift late at nigth, got it?'' The man took the gold and got Illianis behind him, thé only place left was before the rider. Illianis hâte close contact such as this. He was eager to be on thé ground again. |

She remained silent while the two spoke back and forth, not wanting to intrude or ruin their chance of getting to the ground. It wasn’t exactly in her interest to talk to the guard anyway. She was a bit surprised when Illianis said he’d pay double the usual price. It was more like, paying four times as much, because he had to pay for her as well, seeing as she hadn’t the chance to steal any gold coins yet. She looked forward to getting to the ground. Rimmon wished she could coax people into doing things for her that easily. She hoped it was one of the things he could teach her. She imagined it would take a lot of practice, though. Without hesitation, she jumped up onto the griffon in front of the rider, not really minding the closeness, considering she had to ride in front on the way up due to her small size. The guard that helped her on the way up was afraid she’d fall off of the creature, so just to be safe she wrapped her arms around its neck. On the way down, she was sure to do the same thing. If the guard tried making any conversation, she’d just respond in rubbish, making up words as she went as if she didn’t know how to speak any language. She didn’t want to tell him anything about herself or the vampire she was now travelling with, so she figured pretending she didn’t know the language was the best way to go. It might even be believable with the age she appeared to be. |

The griffon took off in the air without problem, and the guards spoke nothing. They got to the shore of thé lake but Illianis told the guard to get further. And the rider obeyed. They got close to the edge of a forest. Illianis jumped down without a word. He did not need them, the guard would feel his mount lighter. So he looked at the child not knowing what to do. The half-vampire waited q couple minute and then he slowly walk towards the forest. A long travel awaits them, and training too. She would turn into an assassin. Either she likes it or not. And her demon power, she would need to get them awake.... (O.o.C.: end of topic for Illianis.) |
