| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Well, who else would she be talking to? She didn’t make any remarks though, as she had noticed that his attention was somewhere else after she mentioned him going home. Perhaps that was a topic to avoid. She smiled at him politely when he thanked her for her healing service. “You’re very welcome. Thank you for the gold. I’m sure it will come in handy one day when I find a place to do as you suggested.” It was definitely not every day that she had gold to melt and sell to someone else, so she guessed it would be a while before she found a place that would melt it for her. “Oh, sorry.” She apologized when she saw he was looking for his shirt. “It’s under my bag for some reason.” She lifted her bag momentarily and grabbed the shirt, putting her bag back down beside her, and held out his shirt to him. When he asked what this place was, she gave him a confused glance. It was the first time she had come to this camp, so the elf wasn’t entirely sure how to answer. “Well, as far as this camp goes, I know just about as much as you do. Most people that can’t afford to go anywhere else, come here, I guess.” She shrugged her shoulders, hoping she answered at least part of his question. As far as the rest of ‘this place’ went, she was still new to it too. There wasn’t much she could do to explain it to him. It wasn’t like she grew up here or anything. “Perhaps we could find out together.” She said, meaning it only that he could travel with her if he so wished. At least they could find a place to melt the gold, and then she’d give him half the amount she would get in return. Then, he’d at least have something to support himself with until he found a job or something. Her job wasn’t the best, but it got her by at least. |

"Ah, much thanks," he nodded and took his garb and placed them on. The supposedly noble garb was now worn and torn and looked like stitched rags because of the time he spent on these lands. But he had to endure. The vision of home seemed to be only a wistful dream. "I see," so that would explain why. The place was indeed a place for refugees. It was a place people come to when they have no home to come home to. Home. He had lost it. So did he belong here now? No. He has to put his knowledge to use. All those years of training would be voided if he not applied it. Although, he was mostly pertaining to the new lands, not only of this area. He perked up when he had heard her offer. It was new to his ears, of course. From when he had arrived, he was mostly alone. Those he met would soon separate paths with after a while, even if temporarily. He met someone that deemed him a master, but he went away to be able to heal first. "I would love to but," he hesitated slightly. If he was going to do what he was trained to do then it would be dangerous, fatal even. "If you were to come with me, there would be perils. I will be telling you now, I have a dangerous hobby. It is to hunt different kinds of animals, from wild boars, to furious wyverns. It is what I do and what I live for. Are you sure you would wish to come?" |

She was certainly not one to put up with people that killed animals for a living. She would never understand why anyone would want to harm an innocent animal. “On second thought, perhaps it would be better if we just go our separate ways.” She said politely, smiling her friendly smile when she stood up, straightening out her dress. It would be horrible to witness the death of an animal, she loved animals so much. She was no druid, but she certainly had respect for other animals. She picked up her bag, making sure she had everything, and carefully put it over her shoulders, making sure her falcon had a chance to move. Once the straps were on her shoulders right, and the falcon was perched on one of the straps, Lyvian smiled at him again, holding out her hand, “It was really nice to meet you. I wish you luck in your future endeavours.” She said, though really hoping he’d be okay from here on his own. It wasn’t luck for his ‘living’, but more of a wish for his well-being. Upon hearing that he killed animals for a living, she really had no interest in helping him further. She didn’t want to seem rude, but she didn’t want to be around someone like that. She was just glad he saved that information for after the healing was done, because she wouldn’t have helped him if she knew about it before. Now he was healed and up to his full strength to go kill innocent animals... thanks to her. She was a little upset with herself for helping such a person, and a little upset with him for not sharing that with her in the first place. She had no idea what else to say, so she walked out of the tent, giving him one last smile before leaving. The last smile looked a little sad though, since now she knew he was going to hurt all kinds of animals. It might seem a bit extreme to some, but she took that stuff really seriously. Her heart was too light for any sort of violence. |

"Oh..." Chrono sounded dejected when there was a sudden heavy tension in the air. She was already standing up and was getting ready to leave. Ah. This is bad. It seemed that he was not as welcome as it seems. his profession, hobby to say the least, was still looked down upon or ridiculed wherever he had gone. She seemed in a hurry to leave that he had no clue what he would say. Things seemed to have gone well but...it was a sudden twist of fate that there was a thing that would cause them to part so soon. She was not in the best mood. He felt that there was a heavy air about her now. When he realized she had left the tent, he got up and placed his shirt on. He went out and hurried to her. Realizing it may be misunderstood, he called out to her. "Hey!" He called out, standing outside the tent. "For what it's worth...all the wyverns, pelagi, and elder dragons that I had hunted or slain were a threat to my homeland. Had I not did what I did, we would not survive when these beasts can kill us in a blink of an eye." He didn't know if she would even listen to him now. "We call them monsters for a reason. Many ridicule our profession but we do what is necessary to live. I am a monster hunter and I'm sorry if it's an inconvenience." That said, he picked up his things and started to head the other way. He prayed that their paths would never cross again. If he was an inch from death, he had a feeling that she would not be the healer to go to. If it were on his ventures during his professions, then he didn't wish to see her where there is a furious wyvern running amok. OOC: we can end this in a post but i have an idea for another thread if you are interested |

She didn’t really mean to hurt his feelings, but she simply didn’t agree with him. She did listen to what he said about his reasoning for hunting them, but that didn’t change her mind about it. If they were really that dangerous, there wouldn’t be any demons or elves left, and especially not any humans. Lyvian always thought that it’s understandable to kill out of self defence, but even then she frowned upon it. She didn’t see any sense in killing just because there was a possibility of the creature killing you. The winged elf didn’t say a word in response. When he turned and walked, she turned as well, tucking a lock of hair behind one of her ears, and kneeling beside one of the families. She only spoke to them for a while, and saw that they were genuinely kind people. Once she understood their reason for being here, she asked them if they had any open cuts or wounds of the sort, and offered them her healing services, continuing to talk to them. She even demonstrated on herself, since her falcon’s talons pierced her skin already. Her shoulders were still soft as ever. Her tone seemed really odd though. She wasn’t as happy as she was before she met that stranger. She couldn’t remember if they exchanged names or not, but there really wasn’t any need to. She tried shrugging it off, but deep down, she really hoped they didn’t cross paths again. She didn’t want to have to actually refuse healing him. He was nice enough, but even after he gave his reasoning, she had lost her respect for him. Well, what respect she had developed in the short time they were talking, anyway. She would be sure to avoid helping people so easily in the future. She didn’t want to risk helping the wrong person. It wasn’t so much an inconvenience, seeing as she discovered a stronger healing spell in the midst of it, but she saw it more like something she’d see as unfortunate. It was unfortunate that all those animals would die. Finally shaking her head of those thoughts, she paid her full attention to the family she was with, not even watching to see where that man was walking to. OOC: Sure! I’m all ears! Er, eyes, I guess lol ::CLOSED:: Edited by Lyvian Yurrows, Mon Jan 31, 2011 9:17 pm.
