Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Zelothtith waited patiently in shadows the ruins. He knew the little thing was there, but fear tasted so much better when if followed broken hope. Still he found it annoying this body was giving out. Oh it would resurrect with time, but that would delay him in getting his power back. Just a little kill and that things power would be his for a nice meal and a much shorter time resting. She approached and he swung his sword down towards her. "Now for a nice meal have fun back in hell. I am sure digesting your soul there will do me a world of good here." However, his body was giving out faster than he thought and his arm fell off in mid swing.

He still expected a start and reached with his remaining had to grab her. Failing that he would pick up his arm and start swinging it and the sword it still had at her. The ruins gave plenty of places to ruin and climb around, but he was relentless coming at her body bleeding and seeming like he broke more and more of the worthless body he was trapped in. It didn't matter all that mattered was the kill. His eyes seemed to reflect a bit of hell as he cursed at her in infernal.

During the madness Rimmon may see a short blink of blue between two columns. It was the same ghostly blue that she had seen below with the spirit. It was gone so fast the demon didn't seem to even see it.

If she went that way she would continue to spot these strange burst of light, she might even catch a bit of shape to them. A hand or a flowing bit of robe. They would eventually send her to a room with no roof, but a pedestal. It was inscribed with runes that looked almost gone. She could see an outline of a hand glowing on the pedestal, just before the demon would catch up again.

If she did not see the flash the demon would continue to pursue her towards the edge of the ruins where the forest began and would chuck his own arm and sword at her if she tried to enter the woods.

OOC: I really have to be less tired and stop making mistakes when I post. :P

The demon child couldn’t help but scream as the sword was swung at her, and his arm came at her with it. Disgusting, she thought, that his arm would just fall off like that. Maybe if he kept that up, he would eventually become just a torso, and have no choice but to lay there and rot. She jumped out of the way as quickly as she could, but the sword got just close enough to slice through a piece of her sleeve.

“All demons go to hell, don’t you know that?” she yelled at him, but soon yelped in surprise again when he picked up his arm with his other hand, continuing to swing it. With the greater distance between the demon and his sword, it required more speed to go the way he might want it to go. At least, that’s what common sense told her, so now it was even harder to jump out of the way of his swing. She had to watch his arm to see which way he was swinging it each time, but still, she only managed to get an inch away from the blade, avoiding getting sliced and diced for his next meal. If she had anything to do with it, she was not about to become anybody’s meal.

Next thing she knew, she caught a small glimpse of blue. It kind of reminded her of the kind of blue that the mage was... As far as she knew, the mage was a good person. So, she darted toward the blue each time she spotted it, trying to avoid the demon’s sword at the same time. One time when she jumped away, she was just a bit too slow, and the sword nipped the side of her leg, creating a little tease of blood as the red slowly formed through her pants.

She did her best to ignore the exploding pain in her leg, and ran toward the blue flashes, eventually coming up to a room with no roof, but a pedestal. Shortly after entering the room, she noticed a hand on the pedestal. So, she ran up to the pedestal, and reached up, trying to put her hand on the pedestal exactly where the blue hand was. Her hand felt cold when she placed her hand there, and she didn’t even understand why she decided to do this, but here she was, just trying to find an escape from this horrible demon.

The child had no idea what to do now. There was only one way out of this room, she noticed after looking around a bit. She froze when the demon caught up, staring at him, watching his every move. “I’m not your meal! Go find somebody else!” she told him, trying to talk with the vibrations of her voice in her chest, so that her voice was much more audible.

Zelothtith tasted the fear of the child demon. He could almost taste her soul, which he would soon be feasting on. “Oh all demon’s go to hell you brat, but you are going into the belly of a part of me currently there. I will enjoy digesting your soul and essence into pure pain and misery. It will give me strength and you shall cease to exist after a few centuries. Now just let me chop you up a bit and we can move on.”

He found it annoyingly hard to catch the little thing which kept dodging his blade. He was pleased with the first cut as any wound slowed down those weaker creatures. Still his meal evaded him until he chased her into a room with no way out. He saw her put a hand on a pedestal. Why he could figure out. When she yelled he only smiled stepping into the room. “Well the game is done I think now I will…….arghhhhhhhh……” The demon started to scream as the room lit up. The pedestal seemed to have a glowing orb on it now and from it emerged the mage.

The demon started speaking in the foul language of hell. “You again you should be dead a thousand times over. How many traps did you place. You” Inset as many demonic curse words as you can image here. “ mage. You know you can’t hold me forever.”

“No I can’t hold you forever, but I can hold you long enough until someone can kill you for good.” The mage struck out with his staff and a bolt flew from the orb at the Zelothtith. Zelothtith screamed a few last words, "Mark it you little girl I will get you for aiding in this. I wil...."

It didn’t look like a banishment spell, but something far more complex. The magic could be felt in the air even after it had finished it's job. The result was that Zelothtith vanished in burning white light. He was sent to a dark void where his prison of a body would be slowly restored until he broke back into the world again. The light still flowing from the orb was mostly composed of white magics. This would probably make the demon in Rimmon react in an unpleasant way, but it would heal her wound. It was as if the magic couldn't decide if it wanted to harm or help her.

The glowing specter turned towards Rimmon. “Thank you my dear. Rimmon right? And don’t ask how I know your name it is a spirit thing. You helped a lot, but don’t stay here too long. The magic will go dormant again in a few hours, but you shouldn’t stay more than one. This was a focal point used to seal demons of evil nature, but it will not be healthy for even a good demon to stay too close. Though I must warn you that demon Zelothtith will be back within a few months so do watch yourself. I hope at some point you may experience true freedom. Ah my duty is done for now and I am called back. Good bye again.” The specter faded from view leaving her in the glowing room.

Her eyes filled with fear as the demon threatened her, and the emotion didn’t fade until the mage came back and sent him away. She nodded to the mage in understanding when he spoke, removing her hand from the podium after the room was empty once more. Now, all she could feel was dark emotions. She noticed that whatever magic was in the room had healed the wound that she received from the sword, but at the same time, she couldn’t help but feel angry at it. Something about it made her feel miserable and slightly unwanted, as if she would have to kill someone in order to feel better...

She growled at the magic quietly, then scurried out of the room, back to the outdoors and the rest of the ruins. She made sure not to stop moving away from the area. As she looked around, trying to recognize where she was going, a couple of plants caught her eye. She knelt down to them, studied them for a moment or two, then picked the roots out of the ground, putting the whole plant into her backpack. She couldn’t quite remember what she had originally headed out here for, but she hoped those plants would do.

So, without another thought, she decided to go back home, to her grandfather’s house in The Dark Lands. It seemed to be the best idea after experiencing near death. She hoped that she was much stronger and able to defend herself against this monster when he finally returned. She would have to warn her grandfather so that he knew to not send her out on errands alone anymore. The one thing she learned that was for certain, was that kittens definitely did not belong around demons. Kittens had no idea how to protect themselves, and they definitely did not have enough strength to fight back. So, she headed back home as quickly as she could, not making any detours and not talking to anybody. She’d probably stay inside for a long time...
