Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Skarin hated late mornings, sleeping in late and feeling exhausted even after sleeping for several hours. He hated not being able to get a readied start on the day and go about what he needed before it was too late. Such as today’s case. He had woken up at ten in the morning, which was extremely late to him. He had to skip his breakfast and morning study for his schedule could not allow for any changes, even though it was his own fault. But he could not help it, after last night’s adventure it was hard to fall asleep. He had been chasing a frost dragon around the ice fields, he needed one of its ice like scales for a potion he was working on. But he was unable to catch the beast, and eventually got cold and tired that he just gave up. But today was a new day, a day for him to achieve a new goal.

Skarin wiped sleep from his eyes as he pushed the wooden door to the shop open. It was not his shop but it was the only place he called home for now. A small alchemy shop that a friend of his owned sat in a nestled little corner on one of the side streets. He was unable to buy a house for himself yet so he needed a place, his friend being willing enough to give him the spare room. But all that would change for he had big plans to become a well known Battle Mage, working for strong warriors and aiding them in battle. But for now he needed to find something to eat.

Walking along the busy street Skarin looked up, the gray cold sky above his head. But it was warm inside the city. A wonderful act of a past sorcerer that amazed Skarin, he hoped that one day he could pull off such magic himself. But that was a far off dream for today he was simply a young boy trying to make his way in life.

One last grumble of his stomach told him he needed food fast. But he was low on gold and would only be able to afford a very small meal for the day. He needed a better job than the one he had. Atleast another one to help pay for his meals. Looking around he saw very famous food places, but none that pleased his appetite, or his wallet. Today was going to be a rough day.

This place was cold. So cold that Ainsley couldn't even feel her toes, underneath her fur-lined boots that she had made just for this trip. She had come to Striberg on a whim really, just wondering around, visiting new places, and meeting new people. She wrapped her large coat around herself and hunched against the freezing wind. She was walking toward the city walls, trying her best to get in as fast as she could. She was not used to such harsh weather. Back in Norwood, there was the occasional cold front but never cold of this magnitude. She trudged on, picking her feet up out of the snow and back in.

The sun was high in the sky by the time she came near the walls. She could almost feel the warmth that she knew was encased in them. A smile crossed her lips and she started to run toward the city, pumping her arms and pushing her legs as fast as they would go in this weather. By the position of the sun, she guessed it to be midmorning. She walked throught the gates and let the heat wash over her like a much welcome shower. She stepped inside and made her way through the streets, looking for the center of town. There, someone might be able to help her warm up and maybe find somewhere to rest. She had only happened upon Striberg by chance. The iceberg it sits on was gliding past a stretch of land and, unaware to the change of ground, Ainsley walked right onto the iceberg. It was not long until she noticed city lights near, so she redirected her course toward the lights and there she was now. She had heard of Striberg before but never had the urge to visit the city, surrounded by a frozen wasteland.

Weaving through the city traffic was not as hard as it wouldv'e been if Ainsley was not a short, agile, wood elf. She slipped between people and building, and eventually, found her way to the center of the city. Her stomach let out a dull noise accompanied with a sharp pain. She had forgotten that she hadn't eaten in a good while and was in need of food. She looked around for somewhere to eat, preferably somewhere cheap, somewhere that sold something in the vegetarian category would be amazing. I'm dying for a good salad! she thought as she made her way through the streets, looking for a shop that sold such things.

skarin was about to give up, he could not find anything at all that he liked or was in his price range. Everything was to expensive for a apprentice mage, they didnt get paid well enough to even supply their own means of food. So as he walked along the warm streets he decided to head back to the sho he called home and just frind some left overs, like some stale bread or meat left out to dry. He continued on his way when out of nowhere his attention was caught by a small wood elf just scurring around the streets. He had never seen her before and wondered who she was, but more importantly he wanted to get to know her, never before had he seen such beatuy and grace in a woman, the woman of Striberg wernt always they nice, on the eyes or in the personality. his stomach gurmbled, but he did not care, he patted his tummy to get it to shut up and made his way to the elf.

ummm excuse me, your not from around here are you? I hav elived here my whole life and cant say that i have seen you before, im sure i would have realized it before. Its young presonality was not worried about her beging afraid of him or scared that a stranger was just walking up to her. He did not feel shy nor was he afraid to talk to people he had never meet before, exspecially if they were as cute as she was. my name is skarin by the way, sorry for the sudden rude disturbance, i just saw you and you looked like you could use some help. He pu ton his sweetest and kindest smile as he extended his hand to shake. He was a real polite and gentle kid, who liked meeting new people and having fun. He almost frogot about his aching stomach until suddenly it gave a ear splitting growl, right there as he talked to the woman. He felt so embaressed.

As Ainsley slipped though the streets of Striberg, she heard a voice behind her say ummm excuse me. She turned around and saw a boy, much taller than her. She had to lift her head to look into his eyes, his ice blue eyes. They were filled with curiosity, no fear whatsoever. You're not from around here are you? I have lived here my whole life and can't say that I have seen you before, I'm sure I would have realized it before. he said. He looked nice enough and he seemed to have caught an interest in her. My name is Skarin by the way, sorry for the sudden rude disturbance. I just saw you and you looked like you could use some help. He stuck out his hand and put on a charming smile.

Ainsley didn't really know how to react to such a kind advance. She stuck out her hand and shook his firmly, just like she had been taught by her father, before he had died. A handshake could tell a lot about person. A person who shook hands without a firm grip usually were weak and easily taken advantage of. A person who shook hands with a firm grip were usually strong, independent people who could take care of there self and were not easily pushed around. Despite her small, fragile appearance, Ainsley was that of the latter. She was strong, having a life like that of hers would do that to you. So she shook hands like someone with at least a little strength, not completely helpless. She let a smile scroll across her face, no need to be so solemn. Hi there. My name is Ainsley, and yes, I am new here. Just walked through the gates, as a matter of fact. You are the first person that had talked to me. I was actually just looking around for somewhere to get something cheap to eat. Maybe like a salad or something? I know, out here, you don't really have a lot of plants and such, but... Didn't you say you had lived here all your life? Maybe you could help me. she said as she looked up into his eyes. Now that she thought about it, they were quite captivating. Blue eyes had always been her favorite, over her own hazel eyes.

She was suddenly aware of her clothes. She hoped she didn't look bedraggled or anything such as that. She had just come out of a wind storm in the middle of an icy desert but still. She could see it now: her hair sticking out every which way, her big coat hanging off of her shoulders. She instinctively took off her coat and laid it over her arm, descretely smoothing her dress underneath. It was dark brown and had light blue swirls threaded through it at the neck, hem, and cuffs. The neckline was close to her collarbone and the cuffs came all the way down to her wrists. The dress fell just above her knees, leaving her legs bare, but for a pair of thick, brown, wool leggings. She ran her free hand over her wavy hair, that fell to her middle back. Its brown and forest green streaks, like natural highlights, framed her small face. She looked back up at him, a little embarrassed, and batted her eyelashes.

Then a sudden growl sounded from the boy in front of her. He started to blush and she let out a little chuckle. Sounds like I'm not the only one that's hungry. Why don't we find somewhere quick before our stomachs eat themselves.
