Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Ulfr walked into the building, to be met by a sight he was told would be here, but was still surprised none-the-less. The building was certainly bigger than it appeared from the outside. It was dark, a few candles in candlebras, some even mounted on the walls, as well as on tables. There was also a few unlit torches adorning the walls as well.

Even though it was practically pitch black, Ulfr could see perfectly within the temple-like place. A benefit of being a Shadowdancer Master.

It was cool, and there was a slight draft, most likely due to either the old age of the place, or simply a window or something had been left open, for how long was anyone's guess.

Reaching in his bag on his right hip up to his elbow, he fumbled around in it for a moment, finally withdrawing with a green apple, which he promptly took a hearty bite from.

Not to far from a forest; I could get used to this place. It would make a nice escape route, should I need it. I could sustain myself well enough. This place would make, a nice, ah, what's the word... Ulfr began to scratch his head, searching for the answer.

Sanctuary, Ulfr. Sithis provided Ulfr of his quarry.

Gee, thanks. Ulfr thought back, a little annoyed.

But even with an excellent darkvision, Ulfr could not see behind a pillar where yet another lycan was taking a nap. But he woke up and he heard someone speaking to himself and equipment being looked into. He rose up, stretching as he did, making every bone of his body cracked just like thé weigth of his sheer muscles were too much for them. This...scent, it was another werewolf. One he knew, he fougth alongside him againts a freaking fiend. He walked up to the young one with his wide smile, showing his sharp teeth.

''Is that you pup? Nice to see a friendly face around here...''

Suddenly his eyes widened, it was the smell of the white werewolf alrigth, but there was something familiar in it,something he had not smell around in a long time, what could it be?

''Hey kid, you changed, didn't you?''

(O.oC.: sorry for the crappy post)

Ulfr had been too involved in his own thoughts to have noticed the scent of another lycan. A very familiar one at that. Luckily, it was one that he hadn't fought before, but rather had fought alongside. Had he wondered into another's territory, one that wasn't so friendly, well, this conversation could have gotten messy quick.

Ooh, who is this? Sithis asked while simultaneously searching Ulfr's memories for a name, to match with the face. One benefit to having an annoying demon pestering your every second is that you could have two brains working at once. Though Ulfr grudgingly admitted it.

Ugh...., Brahms, right? Been a while hasn't?

His answer didn't come immediately, however, as Brahms seemed to have noticed something about Ulfr's scent.

''Hey kid, you changed, didn't you?''

Ulfr frowned a little as he realized Brahms must have been talking about Sithis; the demon had been with Ulfr too long.

No, I haven't changed, I just... have uninvited company in the ol' noggin.

His sharp smile was the approving sign. He was glad to see this young promising pup, after all. If he could figth for the same goals: making everyone werewolf. Wind of human, power of the beast. What could be any better? He sat on the cold stone floor, listening to the young lycan. An unwanted guest? Ah, a demon no doubt. He spat on the floor.

''Eh. How did he got into you? I doubt you're the type of guy who'd sell his soul for power, unless you are as foolish i've been.''

The cursed Tayzon wanted his soul before time! When the demon had realized it would be more then a century or two, he lost his patience. The seperation in an holy water bath, harmed his soul forever.... The fiend had taken a part of it.

So what do you wanna do? I mean, ya got something as a goal?''

You're right about that Brahms, I'm not after power. Ulfr studied the floor as he thought carefully, trying to find an explanation for Sithis' presence. Sithis almost seemed to squirm within the confines of Ulfr's mind as he did so.

I think.... I think that he came into my mind slowly. It's like whenever I fight, I can feel this blood-lust rising up in me, making me want to kill. I think that's how he entered.

Ahahaha! A clever one aren't we Ulfr? Sithis cackled.

Shutup, Ulfr snapped in his thoughts.

So what do you wanna do? I mean, ya got something as a goal?'' Brahms asked.

Ulfr leaned against the pillar next to him, pondering exactly what he did plan to do. To be honest, all he had been doing was simply trying to keep Sithis at bay. He had yet to think past that.

He sighed.

I don't know Brahms, I don't know.

She had no idea what she was doing here, but it seemed like an interesting area. She didn’t have anybody to meet, and she certainly didn’t have any goals, other than perhaps finding an older vampire to help her understand what vampirism really was. She didn’t want to keep blacking out every time the blood lust got too intense. She didn’t expect to find anybody here, though. All she could feel was lost after that insane demon brutally murdered her sister right in front of her. There wasn’t a thing she could do to prevent it.

The woman was dressed in a simple blue dress with white arm warmers on that covered half of her hands. She wore a black choker/necklace, and on top of that, she had brownish-red hair. It almost looked like she had no idea how to match colours. She was walking through the halls of this academy, just minding her own business, lost in her thoughts and just listening to the music she was making. She alternated between playing her harmonica and singing, her tune sounding like one of sadness and loss.

She didn’t even notice the two werewolves talking to each other because she was so concentrated on the tune she was making. She wasn’t the best at singing, so she really had to listen to her voice to make sure she was hitting the right notes. Her eyes were only half open to make sure she didn’t walk into anything. She would only stop her tune and pay more attention if one of them blocked her path...

Brahms listened to Ulfr as he told how the demon got into his mind. Brahms had his théories, first one; demon need a contract before entering a body,so this had to be a sprirt. Second onem it was indeed a demon but then it was the fault of the white pup's parents. Third one and highly possible one...''It could be your true instinct too. Doing good things just for people accept us isn't in our nature. So this is your subconsciousness fighting back your ignorance.''

So he didn't know what to do? He was that confused? Oh well, he could let out the instincts of the youngster. His ear twitched, someone was coming, singing. So the Alpha werewolf looked at thé entrance and saw this girl.... Her scent.''Blood sucker....''

So, using his lap's muscles, he made one quick and powerful dash. Just enough to get at her and grab her by the throat, he made a second dash and slammed the girl on the wall.

''So, just a good timing. We got ourselves a pretty blood sucker pup! What shall we do with her? What does your instincts tell ya?''

With one great swing,he swung the girl at Ulfr so he would catch.

I know we have a natural bloodlust Brahms, but this is different. Whenever someone threatens the innocent, this rage, this… hatred rises up in me. Ulfr thought, trying to remember what had caused the barrier of his mind to be intruded by Sithis.

It wasn’t until someone idiot almost got my first human friend, Higoru Kamikaze, killed. I wanted to kill him, then bring him back to life and kill him over again. Ulfr shuddered at the thought.

Suddenly, a sad, soft singing could be heard, and he felt as if it conveyed the true meaning of lamenting. It was eerie in this place, sending the chills down Ulfr’s neck. Just as quickly, a scent the likes of which Ulfr had never encountered before reached his nostrils, causing them to flare.

It was different, and he couldn’t describe it with words, yet it held a female basis. Perhaps Brahms will know wha-

Before he could finish his thought, Brahms had leapt across the area and grabbed someone by the neck, slammed them into the wall, and spoke.

''So, just a good timing. We got ourselves a pretty blood sucker pup! What shall we do with her? What does your instincts tell ya?''

Blood sucker? A Vampire? That’s what they smell like?

Suddenly, Brahms threw the vampire at him. Reacting quickly, he caught her in a cradle. He would let her stand on her own whenever she would be able to. At the moment, she may be too confused to know that she wasn’t on her own two feet. In fact, Ulfr was all too keenly aware that she might try to tear his face off in an instinctive reflex.

He looked up at Brahms, his eyes wide at what had just transpired, wondering if the night would turn for the worst.

Before she had time to react, she was thrown this way and that, something about blood suckers...

“Oh, hello there.” She said, once everything stopped, to somebody that was holding her in his arms. She immediately moved to stand on her own, blinking a couple times to get her clear vision back. She rubbed her throat where the stranger had grabbed her, surprised that it didn’t hurt more. She looked over at the werewolf that had initially grabbed her, stepping further away from him. “Did you see where my harmonica went?” she asked, keeping an eye on the two, and tried looking for her harmonica at the same time.

“By the way, I’m not entirely a vampire. I got bitten, then the bastard ran off, leaving me to figure it out myself.” She said, though not sure if they were even paying attention. She had mostly dragon blood, so she was surprised that they were so easily able to see that she was a vampire as well. Soon enough, she found where her harmonica had dropped, picking it up right away and dusting the dirt off of it. There were a couple of scratches on it now, from it being dropped onto this hard flooring, but other than that it seemed fine. She smiled slightly in relief, and then put the harmonica into the safety of her pocket.

“How about you just do nothing with me?” she asked, alternating looks between the two of them, now fully aware of her situation. She didn’t know how, but she was able to tell that these two were werewolves. She found it odd that she was able to tell that, meanwhile she couldn’t tell the difference between other races. She had no idea between the endless feud between vampires and werewolves, so she didn’t get any ideas right away.

Hmmm.... It seems the pup needs more.... Convincing, saving a vampire's life shouldn't have been in his instinct. He should have slammed her to the ground atleast, if not ripping her appart too. Well, he was just a bit too soft, that would take time, but he would get it. After that the idea of having a werewolf town grew into a city, a province, a kingdom,a world of wereanimals. Well , perhaps just a country for the hunt of the others. So yes,he needed Ulfr as his rigth arm.

The curse on legs was polite? It was no time for being polite, it was time to figth for her life! What was she...? Harmonica? So she cared more about her object then her own life? Slowly the Alpha werewolf walked to the woman and suddenly he felt a cracking sound under his feet. He rose his feet to see something which had broken.
''Hehehe.....i think i found it. Must have fell off as you gracefully flied across the room.''

She wasn't entirely vampire. Oh,so what? Brahms was fully savage either. He kept walking towards her.''So whaddya want? Pity? Sorry, got no more been a few decades.''

She wants nothing done to her? Granted, after he is done, no one may want to use.''Hehe, keep dreaming. Ulfr, if you can't kill her, i will.''

The wheels in his mind turning, Ulfr frantically began to think of something to ensure her survival without having to outright defy Brahms. He knew he could get away, but doing so could create future problems.

Looks like I’ll need to take a few pages out of Sithis’ book for this,

What are you thinking Ulfr? Sithis asked.

You just wait and see.

Ahahahaha! Brahms, my comrade, I would have thought you to be more complex than that! What would it benefit you to slaughter her now? She is at our mercy, her life or death a mere whim to us! Why don’t we find something useful for her to do for us, hmm?
He sadistically suggested, his face maniacal.

Ulfr looked at Brahms, with one eyebrow shifted up, waiting for a response. Sithis was seething with fury at Ulfr’s ploy, enraged that the woman might not be killed.

How dare you!? Even attempt such a thing!?

Aww, what’s wrong, “comrade”? Where are your manners now, huh?
Ulfr thought back to Sithis, teasing him with his own term.

You know, I’ve always wondered what our races could do together, united against the normal populace. His maniac grin widened.

Ulfr turned around to face the woman, his solemn while only looking at her, and he winked, hoping she would catch on, and act as if she was truly just as sadistically hungry for power and control, that her polite demeanor was just a ploy to catch others unaware.

She ignored the wolf as he stepped on something else. It seemed that he didn’t notice that she had already found her harmonica, with it inside her pocket. “I don’t want anything from you!” she snapped at him, “I was minding my own business until you decided to attack me for no good reason! How about you two just stop fighting over whether I live or die, and leave it up to me to decide? Oh, but wait, that would cut a deep hole into your egos.” She said, glaring at both of them, really not appreciating getting thrown around and her fate decided for her.

The dragoness/vampire was real glad she wasn’t caught in this situation very often. Her anger was building up unsafely. She knew she was going to lose her common sense at some point if they kept it up. It really confused her when the nicer of the two werewolves decided to stick up for her. It would be much easier to just do something for them than fight for her life, anyway. When he winked at her, she had no idea what was going on in his mind, but it at least told her that he would fight for her survival... which again, made no sense to her.

For two friends to immediately wish opposite fates for her, it seemed awkward at first, as if they were supposed to think the same thing, but instincts were not quite on the same page... yet...? Either way, she felt relieved to see that the one werewolf had different ideas than the one that initially grabbed her. It would be a lot easier to think things through if she knew their names, too...

She didn’t say anything for a while, letting the two figure it out on their own. She still did not feel so comfortable standing in such close proximity to the larger werewolf, though, so she kept a hand on her shortsword just in case. Even if he was stronger than her, she was sure she could be faster...

Brahms was not to sure of Ulfr sudden sadistical look. After all, the way he catched the vampire and let her be on the ground was too soft to be true. He cracked his neck and walked towards the woman. This was fishy indeed. Why was the pup able to release his instincts? It wasn`t that complicated, it was a part of him. he looked the woman and barked his order.''QUIET!!''Then he looked into the white wolf`s eyes curiously. Perhaps Ulfr would guess that the alpha was suspicious with his attitude but nevertheless, he wanted to see for himself.

''Then comrade, what you got on your mind?''

Brahms took a few step closer to the almost trapped vampire, just to see her nervosity. What was fun though was simply that she was figthing back verbally. Like an old wolf like Brahms would cares and be treated by a wannabe vampire. Pathetic. Just for the need of being nasty with her, he spat on her and laughed. Would she ever fight back or was she as pathetic as a peasant?

Ulfr laughed a little, the grin on his widening still. He was relying on his intuition on this one, and found his situation hysterical. This sudden change in mental demeanor was a little unnerving, but that only added to it. Ulfr decided to just let it run its course; after all, his body had never failed him before.

Brahms, can you not see? You appear so strongly as one whoe desires power! Killing most potential comrades, or followers, on practical sight, would get you no where. Why not... empoly her services? Surely you realize that two werewolves and a vampire are stronger together than just two werewolves? Ulfr hoped strongly that this would reach his hears and stay, affecting his opinion.

He eyed Brahms, looking for any noticeable changes in his demeanor, hopefully a more relaxed one at that.

Both of our kind has been outcasted by society, shunned. And for what reason!? For no more than they fear us, for we are stronger! They should welcome what change we could give them! Why not form some kind of union that could promote... how should I say, cogent persuasion on the subject? What say you to that, mine comrade?

Again, Sithis was furious of Ulfr's application of his word. But what was strange enough, was that Ulfr was beginning to convince himself of this suggested idea. Even Sithis was coming on board with it, as he slowly calming down, his anger subsiding. Ulfr turned to the vampire.

And you, if such a thing were to happen, it would be all to easy to find you someone who understood your... condition. Think of what you could accomplish with that knowledge!

Ulfr's grin was at its peak, and even his eyes were wide with excitement.

She had already backed up close enough to the boundaries of the hallway, and if she backed up any more, he’d have her pinned against the wall with no chance of movement. So, even when he walked forward to her, she remained where she stood, trying to stand up for herself. She was startled when he suddenly shouted at her to be quiet. She had to admit though, at least he had the decency to say ‘quiet’ instead of ‘shut up’ or something rude. Amazement filled her mind until the other werewolf insisted on letting her live still.

Actually, the amazement remained. This wolf seemed to believe she would join them and help them. That was a laugh and a half. Also, she found it fairly amazing that she wasn’t actually frightened of these werewolves, like her iron will gave her reason not to fear them. It was kind of like she had a level of trust for the nicer werewolf, but she certainly would not admit that.

She found it very interesting listening to these werewolves talk to each other, like she was suddenly let into the back doors of a play, getting to see all the hidden crap that went on. When the older wolf spat on her, she gave him a really disgusted look, but said nothing as she wiped the spit off of her and onto his arm as she spat back at him. She knew it wasn’t the best of ideas she’s had so far today, but it really seemed to be necessary for the moment.

Klesci listened carefully when the nicer werewolf told her about finding another vampire and learning from him. “Well, it’s about time. You could lead me to somebody, I’m sure.” She had only been on this search for a stronger vampire that was willing to help her for about a decade now. Or longer. She wasn’t really keeping track anymore. She found his smile really creepy, but said nothing about it, not wanting to make her situation any worse than it already was.
