PC or Mac?; And why?

Fixing up a PC is easy once you know what all the components are. Most of the time it's just a case of clicking in a piece of hardware and attaching a lead. Agree with you on the viewpoint that Macs are a better machine, but they are certainly not a better personal computer when it comes to certain things.

Mac is a professional machine mad for professionals. Hence the price tag. You get what you pay for. PC's on the other hand host a much wider spectrum. You have PC's for Family use, cheap PC's for moderate personal use. Gaming PC's with fantastic sound systems and graphic capabilities. To your super machines.

The only thing that is terrible about the majority of PC's is their Operating Systems. Windows has a very fragile structure and it doesn't take much to crash. In the end if I was looking for something to use - I want reliability. If I'm going to pay money for something, I want it to work for as long as possible.

I have an old iMac g3 sitting upstairs, works perfect, most of the time better and faster than my sisters laptop - which I might add has better specs than the mac. Which is another thing I've noticed. People that get PC's seem to always be changing them every two or three years. I've had that mac for 8 years, the only reason I changed was because of major changes in the technology industry surrounding wireless capabilities. My old mac didn't support the signal form that most modern wireless hubs today produce. Which is sad because it has limited use without internet.

My new mac though. I'll be keeping it around for the next 6-8 years (Y)

PC all the way...function with more programs and work much faster than Macs...macs can be good..for music/art design editing..if you have enough money to put into them and make them fast other then that PCs can be much cheaper then macs in the end...especially if you know how to build your own PC then it can be almost dirt cheap!
