March 16 Reflect Me My children, I am here beside you. Draw near in spirit to Me. Shut out the distractions of the world. I am your Life, the very breath of your soul. Learn what it is to shut yourself in the secret place of your being, which is My secret place too. True it is, I wait in many a heart, but so few retire into that inner place of the being to commune with Me. Wherever the soul is, I am. Man has rarely understood this. I am actually at the center of every man's being, but, distracted with the things of the sense-life, he finds Me not. Do you realize that I am telling you truths, revealing them, not repeating oft-told facts. Meditate on all I say. Ponder it. Not to draw your own conclusions, but to absorb Mine. All down the ages, men have been too eager to say what they thought about My truth, and so doing, they have grievously erred. Hear Me. Talk to Me. Reflect Me. Do not say what you think about me. My words need none of man's explanation. I can explain to each heart. Make Me real, and leave Me to do My own work. To lead a soul to Me is one thing, to seek to stay with it to interpret mars the first great act. So would it be with human intercourse. How much more then, when it is a question of the soul, and Me, its Maker, and only real Spirit that understands it. "In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength." - Isaiah 30:15 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Show God Calling on your website from Advent Digital |

I have wore out and bought for others numerous copies of God Calling for over 3 decades. I had heard God's voice at my conversion. I realized I was quite normal when I first was given a copy of this book. Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. |

Dear Editor, It is an awesome book...I was thrilled to have found a copy and am really being blessed by it.... Another devotional that I love...( I know what you mean by passing it on to others!) is Streams in the Desert....Mrs.L.B Cowman put together encouragements by lots of authors....It was published in 1925. Fantastic stuff relating to the fact that the difficult things we go through in this life are used by God for our good. We know it in our heads....but you see it in a million different ways in this book. It has literally changed the way I look at life. Rev. and Mrs. Cowman were missionaries in Japan. He became ill and she cared for him for I believe 6 years. so you know she treasured each of these thoughts in her own life. I also heard a radio minister ( Tony Evans) say once that "God never wastes a hurt!" It is so true. Along with Streams.....is the devotional call My Utmost for His Highest...by Oswald Chambers....it was published in 1927. I am finding it challenging to grasp in places...but the evangelist we had at our church recently spoke right along those lines...and it has brought clarity to what I'm reading. Both of these devotionals are considered classics...and I thought it was interesting that the Cowmans knew Rev. Chambers when he traveled to Japan to preach. Both Chambers and the Cowman's were influenced by Charles Spurgeon...so lots of his writings are in Streams. O.k.....Now you can say you have had your history lesson and book reviews for the day! I told you I love to ramble!!! :) Kathy |

I have read both devotionals too. The author that has influenced my life the greatest is Mathew Henry--his commentary. Thank God for inspired authors. |
