Even though my dh doesn't have the voice, he has an old hymnal and he sings the patients songs. All but one patient appreciated it and seemed to be coherent. This is the list. When the Roll is called up Yonder Blessed Assurance When the Gates open for Me When we all get to Heaven Amazing Grace A new name in Glory Are you coming home Tonight? Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling The Old Rugged Cross In the Garden Jesus Loves Me, This I know This Little Light of mine Rock of Ages Leaning on the Everlasting Arms There's Something About that Name Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus Pass Me not, O gentle Savior Just as I am, Without one Plea Abide with Me It is well with my Soul Precious LORD,Take my hand Nearer my God to Thee Holy Ground (We are standing on) |

Editor that is wonderful what dh does, I bet it must give them so much comfort. When I worked with elderly patients they enjoyed being read to and some prayed for. Rosie i found this prayer I thought it may comfort you  God who reaches out and touches, help me to experience your embrace today. Come and touch my loved one who is dying. May the touch of your courage give us what we need during this time of letting go. May the touch of your love comfort us and bring us your peace. - Joyce Rupp I havent found anything else except this link for a book its for caregivers of the very ill. its called May I Walk You HomeCLICK HERE |
