Does God answer prayer? This might seem a strange question on the surface but those who know me will also know I have something further to discuss. I have heard many people including myself over the years say God answers prayer by saying Yes, No or wait. Yet even as I have said this I had a problem because if God says no then would I know what was a clear no and what was me wishing for a yes even though nothing seem to happen. I don’t believe God answers prayer 3 ways. I believe that the Bible teaches that God answers prayer one way and that is YES. How can I say that? Because God always answers the prayer of faith, and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. If we are listening to God then we will hear His word and He will give us the faith needed to believe. He can’t ask us to believe something that He wont give us. Our problem is that many of our prayers are not prayers of faith or we can even be praying what are nothing more than wishful thinking. God always answers our prayers of faith but many of us forget that faith is not always positive but also negative. If we live in the negative and believe the worse will happen to us why are we surprised when it happens. Our faith is in the negative. Now let us put this into practice with dieting. How many has tried to lose weight before and failed? How many have a negative mindset about weight loss and dieting. How many have prayed yet negated their prayers by saying, God isn’t interested in my weight or it has never worked before. Why should God give us fantastic weight loss if we don’t believe He is interested and cares about us. Guess what God has answered your prayer, if you say I can’t lose weight then you have your prayer of faith answered. If you have a child who comes and asks you for lunch each day and then follows it by saying, but I don’t think you care enough about me to feed me. How would you feel? Guess what this is exactly what we do each time we pray in a negative way to God. 1) Why are you asking God to help you lose weight? 2) Are you asking for help and then saying God doesn’t care or can’t help? 3) Are you negating the Word of God with unbelief or negative faith? I am not asking you to post your answers unless you want to. But now for the next part of the challenge. Get into your closet and then ask God for that word of faith. Then you will know how you should be praying and have the faith to believe God. Finally don’t ask for prayer or pray saying you don’t think it will happen or be surprised when God gives you a weight loss. As God is a loving heavenly Father why should we be surprised if we ask from Him and get what we ask for? Back to your child, if they ask for a drink because they are thirsty and it is hot outside are they shocked when you give it to them. Do they run about telling everybody that Mom gave me a drink. No they expect their request to be answered. And I guarantee if they did tell everybody that they were shocked you gave them a drink you would either be hurt or embarrassed. |

IMO, God answers yes. I stand firm in my belief and faith. I ask according to Scripture and that is how I pray (Yes, you must know the Word inside and out)! Jesus set the example in the Garden: Luk 22:42 saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. He also approached prayer like this before the answer: Joh 11:41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou heardest me. James also warned us: Jam 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend it in your pleasures. When I cannot in good faith pray exactly as someone requests, I respond that I will pray for them in private. If the Holy Spirit prompts me to pray: Rom 8:26 And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Here is a testimonal I received this month: Good morning Candy, Just wanted to let you know that with your prayer and the faith I put in my doctor and of course our Father Jesus Christ. I was able to consive and know I an like 4-5 weeks, the words on this prayer just opened my heart with emotion. Once agine Thank You, Blanca Subject: Bloggers Prayer Book Date: Tue, 1 Nov 2005 16:39:16 -0500 Dear Bianca, I just wrote a prayer for conception today. This is my prayer dedicated to you. Father God, I come to You having had an example in the Bible put before me. I desire to become pregnant and without Your favor and blessing this will be an impossibility. Hannah was barren and poured out her soul before You. You heard her cries and You granted her request of a child. The impossible had become possible. It reads, "And Jehovah remembered her." (1 Samuel 1:19) That is the desire of my heart, dear Lord. Remember me. I pray as I read countless times that You opened the womb of various women so that they could conceive, You likewise open my womb. I pray that if there is a physical malady that is blocking my way to become pregnant, that You lead me to the physician and procedure that can reverse it. I pray that if it is a matter of timing that You give me the peace and patience to await this gift of life. I pray that You will receive my sincere petition and I vow to raise this child to know You. I will be the best possible mother that I can be. I do solemnly swear to not take this blessing lightly. I come to You, faith believing, O Creator, through the blessings and name of Christ Jesus and I ask that You grant me the opportunity to be a mother. Amen |
