Hi Everyone,

I hope that I'm putting this post in the right place.

Being a newbie, I was just wondering if everyone could introduce themselves a little bit. I would love to know more about all the posters.

I'll go first:

As you already know, my name is Angela. I'm 32 years young. I've been married for 5 years with a 15 month old son. I currently live in Kansas although I was born and raised in Louisiana.

I grew up in a Christain home. Both of my parents are Pastors in LA. I went to college and got a degree in Electrical Engineering. I currently work in aircraft manufacturing as an Avionics and Electrical Engineer.

I play the keyboard for my church and am also the Youth Pastor. There are currently about 20 youth, ages 13 - 19, in the group. I spend a good deal of time talking to them. So if every now and then a little slang is in my post, that's why.

If I sound very busy, that's because I am. I know that one of the reasons I am overcoming a weight problem is because sometimes I take on a little too much and then turn to food (instead of God) to relieve the stress. But all that is changing now. As I continue to grow and mature in God, I become more and more dependent upon Him for everything.

As I've stated in other posts, I look forward to the fellowship with you all.

Very, very cool, Angela. Thanks for this thread.

My real name is Candy, but I go by editor, or CE. I founded www.gracetoday.com about 5 1/2 years ago. We have always had a message board but moved to Invision here a year and a half ago.

I am a stay at home wife and caretaker. I am 57. This is a second marriage of 15 years so we have 6 daughters between us and 9 grandchildren. One great grandchild due any day now. I must not fail to mention my 3 boys, large mixed dogs.

Jesus appointed me to salvation 36 1/2 years ago and that is the most remarkable point in my life.

Ha! The family is thinking more in the lines of tax deduction. Here in the U.S. a birth before January 1 makes Uncle Sam reward. ;lol:

Hi Angela,

I'm a 59 yr. old wife and mother of 3. I am a para-pro in our public elementary school [and claim all 120 students as mine also :loll: ]

I just stepped out of full time children's ministry at our church, but help out when ever needed [like next week when the couple in charge want to spend Christmas with their family down state].

One of our children is a Down's Syndrome, and at home with us. The other 2 are married, the daughter and husband live in MO, and our son is in the military, and is stationed state side at this time. He was married and they had 1 son. When that marriage ended, he was granted custody, and our 1 grandson is now 14. While our son was stationed at an overseas base, he met and married a beautiful young lady, and they are expecting my second grandchild around April or May.

We have no pets, but the in-laws are very much into horses, and their children take part in the horse club rodeo's in our area and we watch and encourage them in that activity. Bruce [our Down's Syn.] maybe volunteering at a local Humane Society next year--with instructions from dad, "NO PETS COME HOME! They all stay there!". Bruce loves animals and they seem to love him back. Haven't met one yet he can't get along with.

Make it a 'Saturated good food Saturday'

Angelic--I am glad you shared with us. Didn't know about the upcoming grandchild or Bruce's possible volunteering and love of animals.
This is really going to be a treat as we read what we didn't know about those on Grace that we love.

My real name is Tonia. Toni was my nickname in high school. :) I do part time bookkeeping out of my home.

I'm 37 years old and the mother of one teenage girl. (Please keep me in prayer. lol) I was a single mom for 8 years, so my daughter and I are very close.

This is my second marriage and we've been married for 5 years. I placed a personals ad on Yahoo...advertising that I was an old fashioned, Christian lady ... and Terence responded the next day. We sent emails back and forth for about a week before we decided to meet for lunch. By the end of lunch we both knew that God had brought us together and we would be married. We were together every day after that, married a month later. In 5 years we've never had an arguement. We sometimes agree to disagree, even get a little frustrated with each other from time to time, but do not argue.

I was a Christian from childhood, went to church and Sunday School, but didn't have a Christian household. I never quit believing, but was not faithful to God after high school. I strayed. I was a victim of verbal and emotional abuse by a family member until I moved away from them about 4 years ago. It had gotten so bad that I was physically ill and could barely leave my bed. I believe that God was bringing me out of that damaging place. If I hadn't moved, I would probably be dead or in an institute by now.

Three years ago I rededicated my life to God and developed a personal relationship with Him. He has since delivered me from insecurity in my marriage and depression. He's brought me a long way. We moved to Missouri (and back to the town I grew up in) about 1 1/2 years ago. God has led me into Women's ministry since we moved here. He's given me strength to step out of my comfort zone and be active in leadership in our community. I find this amazing. This is definitely God, because if it was up to me I would definitely not be in the forefront! I would stay at home! I'm the treasurer for our Library Board, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, have started a book club which has God's thumbprint all over it, and now am taking steps to start a support group for weight loss/healthy eating habits at our church. God is so good and I strive each day to grow closer to Him and to hear His calling in my life.

 So that's all you ever wanted to know...and more! I got a little carried away, but love to share with others what God has done in my life.

Hi there! My name is Lenise (I'm 41) and hubby and I just celebrated our 16th anniversary on Thursday! Time sure does go by fast! We have two children (12yob and 9yog) and 9 cats. We have our own cleaning busines and homeschool the children too. Plus I work in the camp kitchen.

I grew up in a very legalistic church, so I still struggle with that at times. Went to church all my life but never had a relationship with God. Thankfully He changed that a few years back!

I'm a 55 year old who lives in Labrador. I have two adult sons (27 and 29) who live in the States (2500 and 2000 miles away); my youngest son has two children and three step-children.

I have three step-children: a 24 year old step-son who lives in town; a 25 year old step-son who lives about 3000 miles away; a 29 year old married step-daughter who lives about 1500 miles away - we'll be moving about an hour drive from her when we retire this spring. Step-daughter has an 18 months old son - can't wait to be near at least ONE grandchild. A little humor about the house - because air flights are $1600 to the provincial capital (an hour from where we'll move), my husband picked out our house that we bought in September and I haven't seen it yet. He did take lots of photos. When we move in May/June it will be my first time to see the home. Here's photos: http://www.ascoffanscuff.com/us/house/House1.html I'm both excited and nervous about decorating it. We're only moving our computer desks, book shelves and personal things. So will need to shop and check the classified ads to furnish the home.

I was saved when I was 25; backslid when I married my husband in 1998, and was gloriously called back to God in 2001.

My hobbies are music, sewing, quilting, making computer web pages and reading.

Debbie, first of all I didn't know your age, and I think that is excellent as you present yourself younger.
I have a blended family too, and I can sense you love yours. Any family far away is rough. Love your hobbies! Am still seeking to see what mine are.
