Devotions for Dieters
A 365-Day Guide to a Lighter You

April 24

Ephesians 4:27
Neither give place to the devil.

Satan would have us be much less than we have been created to be. He tempts us to gluttony and greed, then makes us feel weak and unworthy. He tries and tests us a thousand ways, and the harder we try to resist, the harder he works to thwart us. The only way to stand firm against the devil is to enlist the power of the Almighty God. Whereas Satan may have a field day with his human forces, he has no effect against God. When we give in to the temptation to indulge, we are really giving in to the plan of the devil to turn us from God. Follow the Lord at all times, and the devil will flee from you.

Today's thought: Chocolate cake is nothing but devil's food!

Oh, Lord, this speaks mega-volumes to me. Don't let me give in to the devils plan, I want to follow Your Plan for My Life...In every way and every day.

When we give in to the temptation to indulge,
we are really giving in to the plan
of the devil to turn us from God

 I love it! Chocolate cake is nothing but devil's food. I will have to remember that when I am tempted. Chocolate cake is one of my favorites.

Who am I kidding? Anything chocolate is my favorite!

:agree: .... chocolate is my favorite also...but the funny thing is...I really haven't craved it since being on the 'no S' challenge. I thought that would be the big problem for me....but with prayer and support here, it hasn't been a biggie. A couple of times I thought it would be good to have hot chocolate, or a chocolate bar, but remembered the challenge, and asked for the thought to leave my mind-in Jesus name----it did.

Strawberries seem to be in aboundance around here lately...maybe I should switch to them on top of White cake--make that :loll: ....'Angel Food' Cake... :loll: ... :faint: ...
