Devotions for Dieters A 365-Day Guide to a Lighter You April 11 Luke 4:1-2 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. Forty days without food. The thought boggles the mind. And yet, Jesus was able to do it. Though we are not Jesus, we do have the same source of comfort and strength as Jesus did: the Holy Spirit. If we will concern ourselves with filling up with the Holy Spirit, then we will not have so much time to fill up with other things. Just as Jesus was sustained through the forty days, we also will be sustained by the Spirit of the living, loving God. Today's thought: Filling up with the Holy Spirit satisfies, and it isn't fattening! Hardcover copies of this devotional are available at: http://www.crosswalkmail.com/dhhajql_dwqywaz.html |

Hmmm, makes me ashamed that a few days is too much. I need to taste and see that the Lord is good. |
