Devotions for Dieters A 365-Day Guide to a Lighter You April 10 Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Whenever food comes into my mind and I have the strongest urges to cheat on my diet, I just close my eyes, clear my head, and try to think of all the wonderful blessings God has given me. I ask God to help me, and then I wait very quietly for Him to answer my humble plea. God has never failed me. In some of the toughest situations, I feel His gentle presence, and my hunger and desire leave me. In the quiet times of our lives God comes the closest, because we do not shove Him aside with other concerns. Call upon God, then wait. He will come. Today's thought: If I keep my mouth shut, food can't get in! Hardcover copies of this devotional are available at: http://www.crosswalkmail.com/kxxjbiv_tezjecu.html |
