TODAY'S eTIP(tm): Doggy Grooming Says a Mouthful! Notwithstanding their occasional rolls in disgusting stuff, dogs do keep themselves clean. Most dogs will wash their genitals, their legs, and their feet. They may use their front paws to wipe their faces, their eyes and ears, then wash their paws clean. You may also see them nibbling parts of their body with their front teeth, which can be a sign of fleas. Dogs nibble each other, especially if they are closely bonded to one another. It's a sign of affection. Sometimes dogs will do this to their owners when they're feeling very cuddly. This should not be confused with biting behavior -- quite the opposite. |

I hope Brenda doesn't read this. She'll see it as proof that I'm a dog. |

Jesse (our boy dog) is very clean. Good thing...cuz he is a licker. I'm not kidding when I say he can lick us more than 50 times in a row! Kassie Kae on the other hand, (our girl dog) has the stinkiest breath EVER. She has rotting teeth issues and stomach issues. So then she's cleaning herself with her stinkified salia. I do brush her teeth, but not often enough. The good thing is, she rarely kisses! |
