SWEET AND SOUR ASPARAGUS 2 cans asparagus spears, drained or fresh 2/3 c. white vinegar 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. Salt 6 whole cloves 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon 1/2 tsp. celery seed Arrange asparagus in casserole. Bring all ingredients to boil. Pour over asparagus, cover and chill for 24 hours. |

I really love asparagus when I can afford it. Saw this and hoped it was SB friendly because I saw this was an allowable veggie. I am going to try it once it is in season or next time I buy canned. |

Well it's not really SB friendly because of the sugar, but I'm sure you can add splenda - other than that everything's fine! |

That is true. I was thinking of substitute which I rarely make recipes with sugar other than baked beans or sloppy joe's and do have a substitute here I can use. Come on, postal person arrive! Unfortunately I thought you only needed sugar for coffee and only sent you a 50 pack of packs. I have here little tablets I bought on sale and they work well with recipes. |
