POTATO CHIPS 1 1/4 Pounds Potatoes, peeled and sliced, thinly 1/4 Teaspoon Salt Water In a bowl combine the potatoes and salt. Add cold water to cover and let soak for 30 minutes. Spray cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Place the potatoes in a single layer on the sheet and bake 350° for 35-45 minutes turn often. Cool. SERVINGS 4; CALORIES 84.1; FAT .1 g; PROTEIN 2.2 g; CARBS 19.1 g; FIBER 1.7 g; CHOL 0 mg; IRON .8 mg; SODIUM 140 mg; CALC 8 mg SERVING SIZE= 1/4 of Recipe |

We tried these today and they turned out pretty well. I did use a small amount of shortening to grease the pain instead of spray. Also, I thought it was prudent to dry the potato slices (sliced very thin) off a bit before putting on the tray. And lightly salted them once before turning halfway through the time. If you feel they're not crisp enough to suit you, just keep in a bit longer but if you let them start to turn golden-brown they will have a burnt flavor. Good! All my children liked them, too. :) :cool: |
