I made this last night, and it was very nice! 6 chicken breasts 250 ml orange juice 250 ml mayonnaise (I substituted half for fat free yoghurt) 250 ml chutney Mix sauce, place chicken pieces in a pot on the stove, pour sauce over and cook until soft. Took about 35 minutes, but I suppose it would depend on your stove and pot. Do you get chutney in America? Because the type I buy is a South African product. |

This sounds excellent. I had a recipe before that included OJ. I must have 100 spices here but I have never had chutney. I don't know if we can buy a ready made product here??? But this is what I found for a recipe. A Simple and Potentially Lethal Chutney 1 lg Onion 2 Garlic cloves 1 3-4" piece of ginger 1 Lemon Some tiny very hot chili peppers 1 ts Salt 2 ts Cayenne more or less, to taste 1/2 To 1 ts black pepper Cut the onion into matchsticks. Mince the garlic or cut into tiny matchsticks as well. Peel the ginger and cut into thin matchsticks (1/2" long, give or take). Add lemon juice, salt and pepper. Now add heat: cayenne powder to taste and finely chopped hot chilis. Mix well and refrigerate. |

This is the chutney we use: http://www.savannahimports.com/chutney.htm It's possible that some stores in the US might carry it... you can definitely get it from amazon.com in the gourmet food section for $5. Don't know if that's too much for you! It is basically made by stewing fruits and onions, in a tangy sauce. Don't know how else to describe it. We buy the hot version, you do get extra hot, mild and peach as well. I'll go hunting for some recipes and check back. |

You are a better (and Hanno) cook than me. Definitely out of my price range for simple meals! |

Well we pay about $1.50 for a bottle, and it lasts about 3 months, so it's not that expensive over here! Tell you what - you can come visit SA and take some home with you! |

I will do that because it sounds good and that price is about the cost of catsup, bbq sauce, or salad dressing, so I am game! |
