"Inner Harvest" Hazelden Meditation Series Paying attention makes us feel good. Now that we're out of the food fog, we can pay attention to what's going on around us. We can especially give our attention to the people around us. As we give others our interest, concern, and caring, we feel better about ourselves. Our moods affect others. When we're relaxed and take time to share a few moments of friendly conversation, we are usually rewarded with an affirming response. When we neglect to let someone close to us know that we care, we miss an opportunity to build a warm, supportive relationship. Being too busy or too preoccupied with our own concerns cuts us off from the interpersonal nourishment most of us need every day, many times a day. Whatever we do, alone or with other people, it is most satisfying when we give it our full attention. We can train ourselves to concentrate on the here and now so that we reap enjoyment from each contact and activity. * Wherever I am today, I will pay attention to the people who cross my path. |

Good post.....I like the thought that the most rewarding things are what we give 100% attention to, but what really stuck out at me was this phrase...... ......[Our moods affect others.] I pray my mood is a cheerful mood--one that honors Him. |

Thank you, I humbly accept the compliment, and give God the glory, without Him I would be an old nag, I know it. |
