From "Minute Motivators for Dieters," by Stan Toler Remember: The fat is in your head! "Our life is what our thoughts make it." ~Marcus Aurelius Attitude A lady went to her doctor for a follow-up appointment. "Doc, the diet just isn't working," she reported. The doctor asked, "Did you follow the diet plan I gave you?" "No, I just couldn't stick to it," she answered. "Did you exercise like I told you?" the doctor continued. She replied, "No, it was just too hard." The doctor responded, "Then I have one last word of advice." "What's that?" the lady asked. "You'd better memorize how your feet look!" You can't change your weight until you change your thinking----until you're convinced that you CAN change your behavior, that you can look and feel different. Don't fall for defeatist deceptions: "It's no use," "I'll be this way forever." Open your mind. Visualize yourself in that new suit or dress. Picture yourself on that South Sea island beach in that new swimming suit. Change your attitude. Think positively about yourself. Appreciate your good qualities. Believe that you can. Say, "I CAN learn to eat differently. I can do this!" Believe me, you can! |
