I'd remove Green Bay and replace them with Minnesota. A lot of pressure on Aaron Rodgers and let's see if an already nicked up Ryan Grant can repeat his 2007 performance. Slide the Eagles into that final WC spot.

As for the AFC I'm not that sold on the Colts this year. They seem awfully banged up coming into this season. Can't see them beating out Jacksonville for the Division. I do see Indy getting a WC berth.

If the N.J. Favres can avoid crashing and burning the 1st three or four weeks of the season before their Bye I can see them getting the 2nd WC placing.

It's not that I'm particularly that impressed with anything they have done, but did you get a look at their schedule? WOW!

**FAST FORWARD 7 HOURS LATER**

Not a mention of San Diego from either of us?

I agree with Gene. I too am not sold on the Colts with no real improvement on defense and no running game to speak of (Edgerrin James is far beyond his prime).

San Diego needs to be on there, yes. Deep into playoffs, they're just too strong. Replace the Broncos with them, I don't think Denver is going to be a very strong team. Everybody says that this is the year their QB steps up because he's healthy. I've always though Cutler would turn into a good player, but when given the choice between them and SD, he'll have to show me something before I make that pick.

I also don't believe in the Seahawks. No real reason for that, but I guess I'm not a big Hasselback fan, especially in big spots. Morris and Jones don't instill fear in other team either, but their defense should be solid, not great...but solid.

Texans in the playoffs? I guess stranger things have happened.

Yea, and Seattle from what I hear has fallen off from last year.

Should be a tough NFC East. Thought Washington would have looked better offensively, but I guess Zorn is taking the team back before he brings it forward.

For me the Charger thing is a gut feeling. I just think they're going to have some sort of problem and just barely miss out on the playoffs. The Jaguars I just don't think are going to be good this year. Gut feelings all around.

Texans have a solid team and I like Schaub (Sp?) since I saw him in Atlanta so I think they'll surprise.

The Texans could win half the divisions in the NFL. Unfortunately though, they play in the second hardest division! They finished 8-8 with those 'bad luck' losses to Tennessee year (including the game where Rob Boronis kicked 37 field goals lol).

Matt Schaub to Andre Johnson is something you'll hear alot of if both can remain healthy. I don't know how many of you will agree with this, but I do believe that Andre Johnson is a top 3 WR in the NFL. Yes, up there with the likes of Moss and Owens.

And this is with Kevin Walters as the other starter, a guy who really doesn't 'scare' many teams with his big play ability. A solid possession receiver and little else.

Another name you might hear a lot of this year is Owen Daniels, an emerging tight end down here in Houston. Is he anywhere near the ability of guys like Shockey or Witten? Not yet. Soon though.

Defensively, keep an eye on Demeco Ryans and Mario Williams. Ryans who has lead the league in tackles for the past two years (I believe) and Williams who might turn out to be the best two way DE in the league.

HOT TIP: If the Giants ever play the Jaguars again, start David Carr. He is invincible against the Jags. haha

With Arizona, St. Louis, and San Francisco filling out the competition Seattle wins the Division if anything but by default.

You don't live in Texas, do you?

But yes, I do think Johnson is an excellent receiver. I'd personally like for him to actually produce like Moss and Owens before I would ever be silly enough to mention him in the same sentence however. With a very, very average quarterback in Shaub, that might be difficult to do.

I like their defense.

A lot of Giant games get blocked out because of Texan games, so I am more or less 'encouraged' to watch Houston.

From ESPN website:

On the plus side, Schaub has a bona fide stud receiver in Johnson. Unfortunately, they worked together in just four games last year, but Johnson had 23 catches for 419 yards with four touchdowns during that time. He's already a go-to guy, and a good one at that, and that's a great way to build up confidence in your passing game.

While the talent level drops off a bit after Johnson, the rest of the receiving corps is at least passable. Kevin Walter led the team with 65 catches and is a nice complement to Johnson. Journeyman Andre Davis averaged 17.7 yards per catch last year in addition to his three kickoff returns for touchdowns, so you know he's got some big-play ability in him. Tight end Owen Daniels had 63 catches last year for 768 yards and acts as a nice safety valve and red zone target as well.

That secondary and pass rush is still questionable, especially with Dunta Robinson out for a while and the lack of a complimentary pass rusher to pair with Super Mario.

That article definitely confirms that he's a top 3 NFL receiver. He's the best receiver on that team. That's what the article says to me. I was pretty confident in that prior to that gem. lol

That goes back to my earlier point about health concerns and the lack of 'support' on the secondary WRs.

Of course, being down 21-0 in the second quarter isn't very impressive for either side of the Texans!
