It was inevitable that after I make a 'not so positive' comment about Michael Johnson, he makes a really, really nice pick.

Check that. He dropped it.

He sucks.

Really liked the "SuperBowl Reflections" during the halftime show. I so hope they had it BLASTING thru the Stadium!!!!! :P

BTW, totally missed John Lynch signing with the Patriots*. Must have been when I was swamped with softball & stuff?

(And I can do without the updates from the Democratic National Convention. Put the damn game back on, thanks!)

I hate to kill the kid because of one play, but Manningham's last opportunity was pathetic. You're a rookie, looking to impress and you pull up on a pass over the middle because you're afraid of being hit?

What happens when you actually ARE HIT?? How afraid will he be after that??

Like I said, it's just one play but that was not a good sign at all.

True, it's not, and I'm far from making excuses for the kid, but, they are told to avoid as much contact as possible during preseason. Only most don't listen to such silliness.

Pardon me?

Did you just say that coaches tell rookie football players to avoid contact when possible in the preseason? Did you really say that?

Yes, I did. Not just rookies. Not all contact, just when you can.

Go Feags...

I said rookies because trust me, nobody is telling rookies to avoid contact.

Vets/starters? Absolutely. Rookies? No way, no how.

Poor Feags. He's saying, "get me the hell outta here".

I believe they tell their "superstar" rooks to "avoid" contact as well..... KP & Manningham were high draft choices. They're basically sho-ins to make the team, so why risk injuring them.

As for KP not starting.... they know what he can do - they want to see if others can do it so they can whittle the roster down. I have no problem with him not starting.

So do they tell rookie LBs not to hit very hard? Running backs not to lower the shoulder but to look for the sideline? Or is it just a rule for pussy WR's?

Sorry, I'm not there so I don't know what is said, but just the premise sounds silly to me.

Love the Chase so far. Very good player off the bench. Wilkinson and Kiwanuka both impressing me so far. Dare I say things might not all be lost?

Where's ya freakin' school spirit?

I just got back from the game and heres my scoop:

First of all the flashbacks from the superbowl were blasted throughout the stadium everytime the pats would take control of the ball, it was a beautiful thing to watch and listen to.

Chase blackburn could very well start i believe because he makes every tackle and even when hes not involved in a tackle he is always there clogging up a hole, he did a very good job.

Watching the game from TV probably didnt show how Phillips was around EVERY ball that was snapped when he was in the game. It was unbelievable how good instincts the kid has to be around the ball all the time.

Bradshaw is going to be something special i think. Even with a shitty line in he was finding the smallest of holes and hitting them with full force.

Andre woodson should not even be on the team right now he struggled bad, and carr even though he looks like hes going to shit the bag in the pocket he didnt do to bad tonight, even better when the first line was in.

Manningham i thought looked pretty good, not the best but granted he still is a rookie and has been out with injury. He did fairly well considering he had david carr throwing to him to.

And i dont know who number 84 is, but i know hes a TE, but he is a good player as well, made that nice reception, and always held his block on running plays

Looks like we have some major decisions at WR,I hope Reese is working the phones,(hint,Bengals are desperate for a Wr)as it goint to suck bigtime to have to flat out cut aone our WRs and get nothing back in return.
No way London makes it to the practice squad this year.
Moss seems to have elevated his game.
Manningham is not going anywhere.
And remember that Tyree is on Pup.
