I was discussing this with a friend last night & he asked me a question that I'm not sure of the answer to. He seems to think the Jests only signed a 5-year "lease" or whatever it is. Are they still trying to get their own stadium & just signed on to "share" for 5 years?

"Jests" Really? We're stooping to that level.

Anyway, no, the Jets are signed on for 99 years with the state of New Jersey last I checked so unless they're planning on turning the Florham Park facility into a stadium, I very much doubt that this is the case. This stadium was a great deal for both teams. Imagine the PSL and ticket prices we'd be paying if we had seperate stadiums. None of us would be able to afford it. We'd have to save up for two years to attend a game.

Dude, every time I type your team's name it is Jests. This is nothing new. I think it is a computer malfunction. Or just my internal thoughts externalizing themselves..... ;)

I was over on the Jets Insider page and there seems to be a bit of confusion.

It seems somewhat vague, but it looks as if seats are going to be assigned on a seniority basis.

So, if someone who is sitting in the lower area wants to move to the upper area and they have had their seats longer than the next guy they're going to get 1st crack.

Some Jet fans are worried that if enough guys (EG) with 20+ years of season tickets decide to move upstairs the guys with (EG) tickets of say 5 years or less could be bumped out of the Stadium all together if there aren't enough seats to go around for everyone.

Like I said the whole situation seems somewhat vague and confused, but a few of their guys are a tad worried...........even if it is a longshot that something like that would ever happen.

Man that would suck big time if that were ever to occur...........

Let me tell you something, pendejo.

It has nothing to do with being unable to afford 1K/seat. It has everything to do with forcing 40, 50 year team supporters with lower bowl, midfield seats to pay 20K/seat, 500/ticket to keep similarly superior seats in the new place. This has the practical effect of forcing those who can't, or refuse, to pay that exhorbitant sum to fork over a lesser amount just to be in the building, in shittier seats. Then the corporations swoop in and scap up what, in fairness and equity, should have been their prime locations. No give back allegiance from ownership in appreciation of loyal support through thick and thin. The whole thing totally sucks ass. I'm out 10K for two "Loge" between the 30s.

Yes that is the case. Anyone whose had season tickets for just the past 5-10 seasons could very well be out.

I agree.......

The entire premise of the PSL's was to defray the cost of this new dump. If they're making the fans pony up their share why put the burden on some and not all?

I mean this is great for the Jets fans, but why are Giants fans getting stuck?

WTF if the Giants miss the playoffs this year and Favre leads the Jets to a Super Bowl championship..........I know I know, but stick with me will ya? I'm just trying to make a point here  .......are Mara & Tisch going to send my $3,000 back?

But when was the last time the Jets have won anything? Soon, they'll have to pay THEM to come to the games.

:giggle:

Ok, I admit that my responses are based largely on MY perspective. That being the fact that I can't throw a wet noodle and not hit a Giants fan who is crying about these PSL's. I love when I hear, "I've been a season ticket holder for 23 years and wah wah wah wah wah!"

Well guess what? I wish I had the opportunity to be pissed off about paying more for my tickets. But fact is, I don't have season tickets. Not today, not 23 years ago and most likely not ever.

So man up, pay your money, quit your bitchin and be thankful for the opportunity to see 8 Giant game per year for the past 30 years, and another 30 years to come. An opportunity that maybe 1% of all Giant fans have. And if you can't deal with it, give me your tickets and I'd be more than happy to pay these fees.

My sentiments exactly! Give 'em back & reduce my wait to 15 years instead of 20!

If they had listened to me and not built a new stadium, which we do not need, we wouldn't even have to worry about.

The Meadowlands was pretty weak though, c'mon. "Need" is a funny thing.

Weak, my ass... a nice oval, good sightlines everywhere, and beer every 3 feet. What the fuck more does a real football fan need? Starbucks? Sculptures? Something that looks pretty in pictures?
