I wasn't totally on board with the idea of him comming back mainly because it will take him 6 to 8 weeks to get his strength back(he is down to 240 and needs to get his strength back) and be in football strength. However, looking at our scedule, seriously, its very soft, hell, the only game that is iffy IMO is at Cleveland on Monday night, and they might not be ready for prime time yet(Washington is in transition,Rams suck,Bengals have issues,2 west coast teams comming cross country for 1 PM starts,Clev.,and the bye) Hell, even depleated,we should go 5-1,and I can see us sweeping through at 6-0 if we play at top level like we did in the playoffs. We do that and we get Strahan back for the stretch run, this could work awsomely. BTW,Sal Palantonio reported on Sirius that the Giants are offering 8-10 million, and there is a very good chance Strahan will come back.(take that as you may) |

He missed all of camp last year, & while it took him some time for him to get into the groove, it didn't take 6-8 weeks. I don't think he's that out of shape that it'd take him that long. Someone commented last night on the halftime show that he should be ready to go by week 4. (which is our bye.....) |

It's not like he hasn't been working out at all and sitting on the couch eating bonbons. He switched to a high cardio workout, so, he lost some bulk... a whole 10 lbs worth. People need to relax on the "ready" shit (I'm seeing it on every goddamn board). We're talking about a 13 year vet. I'm pretty sure if anyone knows how to get ready quick, it's him. |

I have accepted the fact that Michael Strahan rode off into the sunset as a Super Bowl Champion, confetti raining down on him and his trademark gap tooth smile larger then ever and I hope he allows those memories to be his last in the NFL. |

And that bulk he lost comes in handy when teams decide to power up on him and run right at you. Face it,if he comes back he will not be ready till Oct,and won't be fully effective till mid Oct. I'm not saying that that is a bad thing,it would be some very welcome reinforcements going into the stretch run. But anyone thinking he will be back to his Pro Bowl form by week 3 are kidding themselves. |

Strahan just released a statement saying that he will stay retired. |

Considering today's drama queen athletes, I appreciate his quick decision. I wish he would have come back, but I couldn't respect his decision more. Good man. |
