Tynes to have exploratory surgery

This doesn't sound good, but is there really much of a difference between him and Huston?

Tynes to have exploratory surgery

The mystery of Lawrence Tynes’ knee injury should be cleared up tomorrow, when the injured kicker undergoes surgery to figure out what exactly is wrong with his left knee.

Two sources just confirmed a report from earlier that Tynes is scheduled for what is being called “exploratory” surgery. The hope is that the surgery will determine exactly how long Tynes will be out. Nothing, the sources said, has been ruled out at this point, including the possibility that the kicker could be lost for the season.

Clearly, though, that’s not what the Giants are expecting. Tom Coughlin had said there was a possibility Tynes would be back this week, though that obviously didn’t happen. And when Josh Huston was signed to kick in the Browns game on Monday, even he said he was just keeping a seat warm until Tynes got back.

But the injury continued to linger, so now the Giants want to find out exactly what the problem is.

If Tynes is out long-term it’s not known if the Giants would entrust their job to Huston, sign a veteran such as Billy Cundiff who tried out last week with Huston and Shane Andrus, or whether they’d go in another direction entirely.

Nope forget Feely.......

Read in the Post today that the Giants aren't interested because they're worried about his locker room presence..........reckon you can take that for what it's worth.

Guess there were hard feelings when they let him walk..................

Am I the only one around here who remembers the animosity when Feely was cut??

There's no way in hell, outside of lots of cash and pure desperation, Feely becomes a Giant again.

I remember,I was just hoping the Giants office would be the better person in all of this and put the team first. :dunno:

Yes. We got Huston back, who was supposed to be a stand-in for Tynes while he healed. Now there's talk about Tynes being out for the season...

Didn't he have some "Tiki-like" words about Coughlin?

Don't burn a bridge.

Tynes diagnosis: No structural damage

Just got this release from the Giants:

Lawrence underwent the exploratory arthroscopic procedure, which revealed no structural damage. At this point, Lawrence will continue to treat the soreness in his knee through a rehabilitation program.

I believe the term "fucking pissed off" would be applicable. LOL

He was pissed off at the Giants as a whole because of how his release went down. They claimed they talked to him, he claimed he came in one day and was told "see ya", etc...
