One more thing..., when I started thinking about the approach and about tiring out the defense, I was mainly focused on their Dline. I know we can beat their LBs in the running game. They're talented, but they have tread on their tires and as Jacobs showed on the TD pass..., he'll run right the f over their LBs. It's those insane d-linemen they have. I want them to run around the field for the first part of the game. I want them gasping for air by the 2nd quarter. If we don't, they're a stout group. I mean, scary good. So let's put a cramp or two in their big asses and make life difficult for them from the start. |

The strange this is, if I weren't to consider the score, I would say yes...we played a pretty good game that night. But they scored 38. So we just have to play better, because chances are, we're not scoring more than 35. Agreed. Especially since we can't count on a return-for-TD. It was maddening how many times we were thisclose to getting Brady, disrupting his arm coming forward, jarring out the ball. On one third and long it looked like he was decapitated. Nah, he merely ducked under the decapitation and completed yet another big first. They need to get there nanoseconds earlier, which makes your bolded quote very poignant. Who wants it more?

It always makes me laugh to see other teams fans call our LBs old. The Colts, Steelers and Chargers fans all said the same thing. Vrabel is I think 33, coming off one of his best seasons, going to the Pro Bowl. Thomas is 31 and was a 2006 Pro Bowler might been this year if he played the whole season at OLB. Bruschi is 35 and Seau is 39, at this stage in their careers they are only average LBs, but they have been that age all year and the games in a couple of days not 2010. Saying the Pats LBs get worn out at the end of the game is pure stupidity. Look at the games that were close Ravens, Colts, Cowboys, Jags, Giants and Chargers the defense played there best in the 4th quarter. Especially look at the Ravens game, McGahee and their O-line beat up the Pats for 3 quarters and then he got shut down by our old LBs (and our 35 year old SS) in the 4th quarter. Time for a new blueprint ? |

Absolutely, Osi was a split second from two forced fumbles if I remember correctly. Then there were several times we had pressure up the middle and he juuuust got it away to Welker. It's fair to say that we need our biggest game on the biggest day. We need to play just about perfect on both sides of the ball and STs. No pressure. |

I'm suprised you think they didn't pressure the QB well enough in week 17. From the Pats perspective the pass rush was great. All trash talk aside is not likely to happen. I watched the game again a couple days ago the Pats gave O'Callahan help on almost every play and your RDT and Strahan (when he stunted) destroyed Russ Hochstien. Kaczur is a better pass blocker and Neal is a much better player than Hochstien also the Pats kept Watson in to block a lot now they have K.Brady back whose like another lineman. |

You guys dropped 38 on us, so no...I don't think we brought enough pressure to beat this team. We did have a good pass rush, I thought we played very well. Not well enough however. We don't have the best secondary in the league, so our best chance is to create more pressure one way or another. I have no delusions that we can sit back and play zone every play against Brady. You're right about the players they didn't have, who they will have Sunday, so it becomes even a bigger task. Not impossible, just a bigger task. That's why I said we need to play just about perfect in all aspects of the game. |

I think it's the LB. they need to cause pressure if our front four can't get there. I really need Antonio Pierce to step up. in this game. if somehow we can get to brady and sack him and cause him to throw some bad balls then the game is ours. Antonio Pierce is my key player on defense.

"Defensively, I think we did a couple of good things, but for the most part didn't play as well as we needed to play to win that football game," said Umenyiora. "They put up 38 points on us. I think we know we must get a lot more pressure on Tom Brady than we got in that game. We got some, but it wasn't enough." What he said. |
