Hey guys, I'm a regular chatter over on PackerChatters.com(under the same name) and I just wanted to congrulate you guys on a big win over the Cowboys on Sunday. I also wanted to spark some good discussion for our upcoming game. As a Packer fan, I am totally pumped that we(with some help) have brought the NFC title game back to Lambeau. This is going to be another special game with our two storied franchises having such a great history.

What do you guys think about coming to Lambeau for this one and what do you think will be the difference makers?

Congrats on your win last weekend too...pretty impressive.

Ordinarily I would probably be worried going into Lambeau, but the Giants should be used to it weather-wise since they're from the North too and have around the same temperatures. The only thing different would be if we saw a game similar to this past Saturday where it was basically a snow-fest. Then anything could happen.

As far as the ambiance is concerned, I would be worried about that too, but the Giants are on a 9 game winning streak on the road and the different atmospheres don't seem to phase them.

Looking forward to a good matchup. If we duplicate what we did against the Cowboys we should be in good shape.

That has too be great to know you guys knocked your division foes out of the playoffs, and by the way, thanks for that. It's no disrespect to the Giants because I think they are a great team, but I really wanted the NFC championship in GB (plus I just hate Dallas and am happy to see them not even get one playoff win).

I totally disagree with Wade Phillips comments today, the better team did win on Sunday. Jim Rome ripped him apart today for saying that, it was great.

I'm looking for some great football talk the next couple of days. I tried that at the Seahawks' fan site last week, but they turned it all into trash talk.

I think the biggest key to the game for the Packers is to somehow slow down that tenacious pass rush from the Giants. I think we will see Bubba Franks do some chip blocks on delayed pass routes to try and slow them down a bit. The only problem is, which one of those Giant D-ends do you try and slow down?? Their inside pass rush is great, too.

LOL Rick. I hear that.

I think the fact that it's at GB gives us more of an edge than doing it here. I've never been so happy to not have HFA in my life.

The weather is the ONLY thing that worries me. We might be north too, but, let's be real here. We've been spoiled the last couple of years as far as weather goes. I worry about Eli in a heavy snowfall.

And should we lose Sunday (which we won't) I can still leave the season extremely proud of my boys for going so far as decimated as they are.

They haven't given up one iota. Neither will I.

True that, for sure. I really loved the look on Jerry Jones re-structured face the final seconds of the game on Sunday.

Yeah, I think the Giants have a good chance, but I have no hatred toward Favre and the Packers. If we don't win, I will root for them to win the SB over either NE or San Diego.

The Giants came away from the September GB loss an 0-2 team that had surrendered 80 points in two games. It is the Packers, however, who have undergone the most significant change in the following 4 months. With the emergence of Ryan Grant, GB has morphed from a pass-first O-scheme without any real running threat into one of the more balanced attacks in the league.

For me, the biggest key to a Giant victory on Sunday is the ability of NY's front seven to recognize and penetrate the fantastic zone blocking of GB's OL. They've got to get hats on Grant as he hits the LOS, to minimize his improvisational ability as a quick cut-back runner. They must, must, MUST maintain lanes on the D-rush, not collapse inside, and protect the edge much better than they did against NE and DAL.

The second key, for me, is NY's ability to put Favre on his ass. That doesn't necessarily translate to sacks, but he must be pressured constantly and hit constantly. As we all know, the ol' gunslinger is wont to put up ducks and ill-advised "hopes" when harrassed.

Tom Coughlin, from September:

“We blitzed, we tried to pressure with four, we tried to pressure with five, we pressured with six, and we are not getting there. We have to reevaluate it and look at the guys that are involved in it and find out why we aren’t getting home. We will be back trying to study and analyze that as well. I know that the ball came out quickly. Brett Favre does an exceptional job of that, but there is still no excuse. We did have him in a position where he was looking for people on occasion, not many, and that is the case where you do have to get home. You have to get home and we weren’t able to do that with any consistency.”

The third key, imo, is containment of Greg Jennings, a nice receiver who, nevertheless, is not T.O. or Randy Moss, two guys NY has nicely held in check (relatively) already this season.

Key 3-A, of course, is the health of NY's walking-wounded secondary corps. Will Ross be able to go? Madison? Can we dare expect a third decent outing from Mr. Webster? Will McQuarters stand stout again?

A fourth key is not to shoot themselves in the foot. The Pack didn't so much beat NY in September as much as they beat themselves. Remember Shockey & Toomer both killing likely touchdown drives with bonehead penalties at the goal line? Remember Bradshaw coughing up a kick-off and giving GB the ball on the NY 20? The Giants must play smart, error free football. I'm almost glad Shockey won't be in there for NY. He's just the hot-head to be flagged with a "retaliatory" USC penalty at the worst time. NO RETALIATORIES! WALK AWAY.

Our defense was still finding itself, still adjusting to Spag's vision, on September 16th. Suffice to say, they have. Execute the above and NY will win this fucking game.

I haven't even commented on the offense, which I believe will do just fine.

Der Colonel, September:

“I think we are a better football team than we have shown. Obviously, I don’t have any real grounds for saying that, it is just a belief. I do believe we are all in it together and I do believe that we are all embarrassed.”
