Saints | Stoutmire an UFA this year Fri, 26 Jan 2007 09:22:15 -0800 The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports New Orleans Saints S Omar Stoutmire will become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. I wouldn't have a problem bringing him back. Solid player that wouldn't cost too much.......... Discuss

Ehh...he hit hard when he was in position to do so, but there was nothing special about the guy IMO. He wasn't in position enough to warrant a return Pass |

I thought Stout was a solid player for us, but I'd pass on bringing him back. We can do better. Another safety who can't run with receivers is not what we need. If anything, I think we need the type of player like a big corner to fill a backup safety role. It seems our backup safeties get a lot of playing time and neither of our starters are very good in coverage. So I'd pass on another good hitting safety who is relatively weak in coverage. |

Ok, let me see if I can get this straight.... you get your knickers in a twist & go off on Hamp when he says something about not cutting Arrington as board members would like to see, then when he says he doesn't want Stout back, even tho 2 other people took a pass on bringing him back, you decide to single him out because he wants to keep Arrington, as many other board members do as well? Interesting. It'd be nice if both of you would cut the shit. It is getting really old now. And yeah, pass on Stout. He was decent when he was here, & while I like him, he honestly wouldn't be an upgrade. I'd rather wait & see what else is available as the offseason begins (since it hasn't really yet). Bringing him in wouldn't even a bandaid.

I did address it to both of you. You perceive things where they are not. He wasn't singling you out. I don't like Arrington either & was opposed to him even coming to visit, let alone neomg signed & I didn't take offense to Hamp's post. I get the feeling that due to the "history" you 2 have, you each find offensive things directed at you in the other's posts that actuallly aren't there. Regardless of fans wanting a player gone, it isn't gonna happen unless management decides they want him gone. The Giants don't want Arrington gone right now. That's something we're going to have to live with. And as far as what is said in papers, I don't believe that shit either. Living up here in the NY area & reading the drivel that they write & knowing how they blow things WAY out of proportion, you have to take what is written with a grain of salt because more than 90% of it is not true or is stretched truth to sell papers & generate drama. |

Where did Hamp even address you, dude?! All he said was that he didn't want Stout back and you lit into him. You "don't want shit" but you just started some for no reason whatsoever |

because of his height he had trouble supporting on deep passes. and he was screwed lots of times. 5'11. not a bad height even for a safety but a lot of passes just went passed him... OMar was pretty decent to have he wasn't bad... having him back... is ok with me. |

The idea of bringing Stout back is much like the idea of bringing Armstead back that was around a few years ago. Good in their time, but their time had passed. Ans so I shall pass on Omar. Wish him well though. Oh and G1, you might want to try and not be so sensative around here. Don't dish what you can't take as the saying goes. |
