Giants place Tuck on IR, sign Lance Legree
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) The New York Giants placed defensive end Justin Tuck on injured reserve and signed veteran lineman Lance Legree on Thursday to replace him.

Legree played with the Giants from 2001-2004. He played with the Jets the following season and signed with the San Francisco 49ers in August. He failed to make their roster, and has been working for a securities company in New York City.

``Lance was in a position where he was the highest-rated player that we could bring in and so we did,'' coach Tom Coughlin said.

Legree, who has been working out on his own since being waived, said the Giants did not work him out before signing him. He knows their defensive system.

``I am very excited,'' Legree said. ``I am very glad to be back over here. It's a great organization. I know a lot of the guys. It's a good situation for me.''

Legree made the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2001. He played in 59 games with 21 starts, including 10 in 2002, when the Giants were a wild-card playoff team. His most productive season was 2004, when he had 36 tackles and two sacks.

Hummm, who else can we get back? Barrow? Armstead? Bober? Ralph Brown? I always liked Rosey (is he still a Viking? Haven't heard about him lately). Hammer? Kenny Holmes? I could go on all night people! LOL

Really amazing some of the players we had on those Fassell teams. So many out of football in a blink of the eye.

In his last season in NY, Legree started coming on pretty well. I'm not unhappy about him coming back as long as he can still get it done.

And besides....we all saw how well Willie Joe did at DE

E10- There's a thread about it in the "announcements" section.

The server we're hosted on failed and a big chunk of data (posts, uploaded images, etc...) between March 6th and when it went down were blown out.

Judging from what's going on at the support forum for Invision, we got off "lucky". Alot of people lost EVERYTHING from that time period, including member registrations.

Hopefully, it will be fixed soon. I'm gonna start reloading some stuff myself, even though they said it's unnecessary.

I'll decide what's necessary. LOL

Since Jests/Bears is on Fox (NFC station), he may be calling the Indy/Dallas game? Too bad..... :dunno:

Obviously the blame lies with Accorsi!

Everyone knows that if he didn't give up that 5th round pick in the Manning trade he might have drafted Trent Cole.

Hence, ergo, and to wit , with Cole in the lineup the Giants could have plugged him in at DE when Strahan, Umenyiora, and Tuck got injured instead of having to sign LeGree.......

Yup, its true.......the Daily News says so. ;)
