It's unfortunate, but I think it's about time to stick a fork in us for the playoffs. We aren't going to win with a LB corps where the majority of the healthy players are journeymen who weren't even on the team a few weeks ago. Ain't gonna happen. The odds are very much not in our favor with this freak string of injuries at this point. This would probably kill any team. The worst part is that we actually had pretty good depth, but who could sustain so many injuries to the same unit? Not many (if any) teams in this day and age, I'm sure.

Maybe we shouldn't even play.

Eli needs to win a 38-35 playoff game. No problem.

It ain't over, but it doesn't look like this is going to be the team that played so well a little earlier in the year either. It's too bad really. If we had even Pierce and/or Emmons, I'd like our chances. A lot.

Well, if God would stop striking down our fucking LBs, I'd be happy.

Enough is enough, bastard.

As you know Richard, from the other thread, I agree with you that it's a blow that could certaintly knock us out of the first round. Any team that can't stop the run is going to fail in the playoffs. But on the other hand, stranger things have happened. We're not dead yet.

In all seriousness it's a blow that definitely hurts us......but that football. What are you gonna do? They're not going to cancel the season or shed tears for the New York Football Giants because of whats taken place to our LB corps.......

I'm not saying this is going to be a solution to solve the problem, but why not go with a 5 man DL with Justin Tuck being the extra man?

Perhaps DC Lewis can devise some sort of schemes that incorparate a lot of run blitzes or sets that would drop Tuck or Osi into a LB position when the ball is snapped.

I'm not saying this is a solution to the problems, but Tuck and Osi are athletic enough to pull it off......

The one saving grace, IMO is that the Raiders seem to have packed it in.

If we can find a way to win this one, there's hope that our LB's and OL will be much more healthy. Plus, we'll get at least one home game. It could be worse.

That Pierce wasn't put on IR gives me hope that there is a chance he will return in the playoffs. Even if not this does not mean the team is dead. The Redskins RB's averaged about 3.6 yards per carry. Portis was at 4 yards per carry. The D failed to stop them in key spots, most notably the 19 yard TD run but the Skins did not run roughshod either.
