--My Pre-Season pick was 8 & 8. --Kinda takes he pressure off for next weekend.......I wasn't talking about the Giants I was referring to myself. Michelle and I are invited over a friends house for a New Years Eve party and I didn't want to go because there's a good possibility I'm not going to get the chance to watch the Raider game. My Dad had this old trick that if he were in this type of situation sometime around Thursday he would deliberately start a fight with my Mom where they would end up not speaking to each other for a few days, so he would get to stay home. Wheew! glad I don't have to pull that one out of the hat this week! --Think I'm gonna watch Terry Bradshaw this weekend. Wonder if he's still going to refuse to give Coughlin any credit. --Guess it's to early to figure out who we will face? Anyone smarter than me (which is most of you) have a clue or do we still have to see what pans out over the weekend? I guess it's safe to assume that should the Giants win in Oakland it's going to be a home game? --I'm not sure what the ramifications of a loss to the Raiders would be (concerning a home playoff game), but perhaps a lot of the starters can ride the bench this weekend. Kinda like give them some rest to heal the bumps and bruises. --Congratulations my bretheren and sisteren (what?) fans of the New York Football Giants for tonight we sleep the sleep of the righteous! (Have another beer a-hole) :gmen: :gmen: :gmen: :gmen: |

Thanks to JoeMP2003 over at BBI for figuring this out: ALL the playoff scenarios regarding our round 1 opponent : JoeMP2003 : 12/25/05 11:53 PM *****ALL OF THESE SCENARIOS ARE BASED ON THE PREMISE OF A GIANT WIN SATURDAY NIGHT AT OAKLAND***** Scenarios to play Carolina TB Beats New Orleans Washington beats Philly Carolina beats ATL (GIANTS PLAY CAROLINA 4 V 5) OR TB loses to New Orleans Washington Beats Philly Carolina loses to ATL Dallas loses to St Louis (GIANTS PLAY CAROLINA IN A 3 V 6) Scenarios to play Washington TB Beats New Orleans Washington beats Philly Carolina loses to ATL (GIANTS PLAY WASHINGTON IN A 4 V 5) OR TB loses to New Orleans Carolina beats Atl Washington Beats Philly (or they luck out and have Dallas lose to the Rams) (GIANTS PLAY WASHINGTON IN A 3 V 6) Scenarios to play Dallas TB loses to New Orleans Washington loses to Philly Carolina beats ATL (Giants play DAL in a 3 v 6) OR TB beats New Orleans Washington loses to Philly Carolina loses to ATL (Giants play Dallas in a 4 v 5) BARRING a TB loss to New Orleans, which would be completely unlikely, the only way the Giants could possibly play Dallas would be if both Washington and Carolina lose Chances are 95% we are going to be hosting a game against Carolina or Washington, with the chances probably being better for playing Carolina |

So in short... It basically boils down to the seeding. I wasn't expecting a playoff berth either. But hey... |

Well that and a Giant win this Saturday. That's what the above scenerio is based on. Not sure what happens if the Giants drop the game in Oakland. |

Long before the season started our most optimistic hopes were for getting into the playoffs. We're there so everything from here is icing on the cake. Knowing how badly we play on the road our best hopes are to get the NFC East division crown and host. Oakland sucks and we should beat them next week but we all know how shaket a road team we have been and Oakland as bad as they are have a 2-1 record against NFC opponents this season. Since they dont have much too play for and also its a New Years eve night game Im hoping this game has lots of empty seats. One scenario I dont want to see is Steve Smith against Will Allen so hopefully we can host either Dallas or Washington. |

If the Giants wanna win in the playoffs, they need to get Plaxico back into the game and keep Shockey's head in the game. Tiki is pretty damn good but as shown this week, we need more than him to win. Most of the playoff teams have pretty good defenses, so its not like we are gonna be playing the Chiefs again. |
