Emmons finds out muscle not torn Wednesday, October 26, 2005 STAFF, WIRE REPORTS Giants linebacker Carlos Emmons did not suffer a torn pectoral muscle in Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos, someone familiar with Emmons' medical condition said yesterday. Emmons was injured while missing a tackle on Broncos running back Tatum Bell in the third quarter. On Monday, when coach Tom Coughlin said he was concerned about the injury pending the results of an MRI, it was thought Emmons might have torn the muscle like defensive end Michael Strahan did in the team's eighth game last season. The MRI revealed no tears, however, and the 10-year veteran, who also has suffered knee and ankle injuries this season, could return to action Sunday against the Redskins. |
