MEGA MEGA F THE F'N JETS :fyou: This morning I watched our defense go against the Jets Offense. Lets start with tsome of the good news. Frank Walker made a great pick. He's very agresssive with his coverage and did get one holding flag against him but overall his play was very solid. Nick Greisen also made a nice pick. Will Allen got into it also with a pick but that doesn't count because a few plays before his "nice pick" he was nicely blown away by a Jet receiver ( I think Johnathon Carter, I'm not sure ) for a TD. I thought the D- line played pretty good. Norman Hand and Fred Robbins clog the middle very nicely. I thought the 2nd team D also looked alright. Both units were a little inconsistent at times but I thought they still played well. Not great but having the Jets up did prove that our secondary needs to cover better. It seemed like the D was for the most part playing catch up to the Jets O. They did pretty good against the run. Quincy Monk has been playing well when Emmonds is not on the field. But against the pass we just seemed a little out of position. Not enough QB pressure. Overall I have to say I was disappointed by the Defense's performance The D did go through cleanly with only a couple penalties. Not all that bad..MEGA MEGA F THE F'N JET FANS :fyou: I watched our Offense against their Defense this afternoon and as disappointed as I was in the D I was more concerned about the O. Toomer made a nice catch. Hilliard made a nice catch. Barber had a great run. And that's the highlights. The lowlights? Our O - line is not protecting the QB. Too many Jet linemen in the back field had refs whistling plays "dead from a sack". The QBs passed OK ( I'll get to Palmer in a sec  ) but they were hot and cold. Rivers had probably the best catch of the afternoon. The worst play of the millenium came from Palmer. I can't remember who he was trying to pass to but everyone could see where he was going with the ball, including the Jet DB who promptly stepped in and ran it back for a TD :fury: I was amazed in the Giant O-Line / Jet D-Line drills this afternoon. It appeared to me that the Jets had the upperhand more than half the time. If the Jets came straight on bull rush style the Giants were decent at holding them off. But The Giants had their hands full when the Jets started moving around on the line. It seemed like the Giants did not know who to block and the Jets got to our QB more times than I care to remember. A few more Offensive penalties than there should have been. Most of them just mental things that should not be happening. I don't know, I heard the Offense in the morning were pretty good, but I don't think they were as good in the afternoon. I don't know how the D did in the afternoon. I can't believe how many of those rotten Jet fans were at our camp today. They were all over and annoying as hell  I only heard a few J-E-T-S chants, but that was too much. I was so frustrated seeing them. As I type this my head is still slamming from their stupidity. They had me so wound up that I even said some bad words in front of Blue and KCgirl, tarnishing my wholesome image  From now on if they ever plan on doing this again I hope they consided segragation. I have no problem with Jet fans at our camp, as long as they're in cages on the other side of the university far away from all of us. After all it's OUR camp  not their camp :fyou:

I wish you had sit with us at the other field and watched our offense in the morning and our D in the afternoon. I'm feeling a bit more optimistic after today. My ridiculously long (play-by-play, with commentary-LOL) camp report will be posted later. I'm a wee bit smashed and Goddamn exhausted. |
