The last two days have been alllll about Dayne. He has been getting his ass run ragged and he looks GREAT! Even better than last year. He's much faster, has even added a few interesting twirling moves into his repertoire, is blasting through walls of defensive players and catching just about every ball thrown his way. If you're hearing reports from journalists impressed with him, there's good reason for it. Hamp- you REALLY would be proud. ;) And I think it's great that the fans have really been behind him the last few days. They hoot and holler when he has a great run and/or reception, and call out his name. Good stuff. Warner makes me more and more nervous every day. Not that the Wonder Boy has been spectacular the last couple of days. They have both been batted down and intercepted quite a bit, yesterday and today. I'm sticking by my prediction that Manning takes over midway through the second game of the season. Manning's passes are still gorgeous, but, they'd be even better if they weren't perfectly thrown to the defense. He impresses himself with his passes, as well. Doesn't get much funnier than him standing there all pleased with himself, just to have his D teammates yelling "You were sacked 3 times, rook! 3 times! 3 times!" ![]() For all the crap I give him, due to me not liking him very much as a person, he IS coming along nicely. He still needs to work on the mental portion of his game (you can almost see his knees knocking at times), but, as far as the mechanics, I gotta give it up to'im. Oh- and he needs to do something with his voice. But, I digress... The WR's are our shining stars. No surprise there. Toomer and Hilliard look on top of their game and the rest look great, as well. I love this Cash kid, as I've stated before. Carter got me a little worried yesterday because he was walking up and down the sideline rubbing the back of his leg. I was thinking "Here we go with the hamstring", but, then he mentioned something about thinking he got stung by a bee. Phew! The Will's look great! Allen damn near mauled Toomer during one play. A fight to the floor for the ball, but, Toomer came away with it.It's hard to tell just how well they are covering when they are covering their own boys, but, even Toomer and Hilliard haven't been able to shake them off very well. Talked to Peterson for a quick bit and asked him if he's feeling healthy. He said he feels great, to which I asked if that was the truth or the standard response and he laughed and assured me that he did, indeed, feel "completely healthy". Stout and Williams have been damn impressive. Had to give Stout a bit of a tongue lashing because he was a jerk, but, other than that, all was well. Let's see... what else... Ian Allen hasn't just fallen down for no reason... yet. Cousins is looking pretty good. Has some speed. Accorsi was 5 feet away from me during practice and I didn't say a word. I'm quite proud of myself. Hilliard busted me and KC casing out the townhouses where the players stay. Me and KC have been hanging out with Toomer's mother all week. A sweet, lovely woman who doesn't look old enough to have a 29 year old son. Or however old he is. No new "Shockey Moments" to report. I guess that's good. I can't wait for tomorrow's practice with the Jets. Not looking forward to the 10,000 people they are expecting, but, it should be damn good. Supposed to be a bunch of scrimmages (they're using 3 fields, I've heard) with O vs. D. |

Did this happen a lot today with different people? I've read in 3 different reports that this happened with McKnight/Walker, Cash/Williams and now Toomer/Allen.
No it's not! I'm tellin' you, swat the helmet out of his hands and ream him for not protecting it! |

I remember Cash coming away with the ball after a struggle. A couple of times actually. Dunno about the other two. Most days there is shit happening all over the place (for the most part they practice in groups on different areas of the field) so it's hard to see everything. The Allen/Toomer one really stuck out, above the others, because it was just crazy. LOL |

Yeah, I hear ya. A lot of people have mentioned that the practices are a bit more spread out this year. |
