Tough call to make simply because the Giants have a lot of questions to answer before the draft. How does the Burress situation play out? Can they resign Jacobs? Ward? Both? Does Kiwanuka stay at DE or move to LB? etc.......... I'll go with: 1: Clint Sintim LB Virginia 2a: (From New Orleans) Michael Johnson DE Georgia Tech 2b: Ramses Barden WR Cal-Poly 3: William Beatty OT UConn |

Well if I'm remembering correctly it was Ernie Accorsi who said: "You can never have too many Michael Johnson's on the team." |

With several players staying in school, namely Brandon Spikes, I think Sintim might be off the board. Like Gene said, very difficult to know what we do in FA. Bart Scott or Karlos Dansby? Trade for WR? Sign a Safety to replace Butler? Bah, just for the halibut: 1st: ![]() 2nd: ![]() 2nd: ![]() 3rd: ![]() |

Ray Maualuga LB (replacing Antonio Pierce Soon) USC or Bryan Cushing first round. Ray Maualuga Strengths: Has excellent size and bulk...Extremely aggressive...Tough and physical...A violent, intimidating presence who can really deliver the big hit...Good instincts...Very strong...Explosive...Reads and reacts quickly...Does a nice job of taking on and shedding blockers...Will step up and fill against the run...Solid pass rusher and blitzer...Plays faster than he times and has a burst...Has shown the ability to make big plays in coverage...Productive with a knack for making game-changing plays... Offers schematic versatility...Is still improving and has upside. Weaknesses: Does not have elite timed speed...Inconsistent...Can be too aggressive at times...Always looking to deliver the knockout blow and will miss some tackles...Does not always take proper angles...Lacks fluid hips...May struggle to match up in coverage...Average change of direction skills...Range is somewhat limited...Will get caught out of position at times... Still immature...Ran into some trouble off the field. still like to try him out. Bryan Cushing Strengths: Ideal size and bulk...Good athleticism...Adequate speed...Extremely versatile...Reliable tackler...Excellent strength...Tough...Intense and very competitive...Decent pass rusher with a burst to close...Changes directions well...Good range...Able to shed blocks and work through traffic..Good special teamer...Smart...Hard worker...May have upside. Weaknesses: Durability is a major concern...Does not play up to his workout numbers...Marginal instincts and can be late to react...Does not have fluid hips...Too aggressive at times...Struggles to match up in coverage...Does not have great hands... Might not have a true position. |

In the later round for a WR maybe a nice tall one. around 6-3, 6'4 or 6'5 USC patrick turner Good athlete...Great size and bulk with a huge frame...Runs excellent routes...Very strong, physical and aggressive...Terrific ball skills and body control...Good hands...Plays a little faster than he times...Runs with some power...Can beat the jam...Tough and will work the middle. Weaknesses: Severely lacking when it comes to timed speed...Is not very quick or explosive...Doesn't get much separation...Isn't very elusive...Sub par blocker...Not a deep threat...Minor durability issues...Limited upside. Notes: Rated by Rivals as the #2 overall recruit in the entire country coming out of high school...A two-year starter for the Trojans...Missed two games, including the Rose Bowl, with shoulder and thigh injuries in '07...Wasn't nearly as productive as Mike Williams or Dwayne Jarrett but is cut from the same mold...Talented player who never fulfilled his potential at Southern Cal.. Profiles as a possession receiver in the NFL. or this dude.... Ramses Barden 6'6 WR Great height and outstanding bulk...Excellent athleticism...Real strong and physical...Good leaper with terrific ball skills...Runs with some power...Has a nose for the endzone...Decent blocker...Intelligent with solid intangibles..Extremely productive and was dominant at his level. Weaknesses: Does not have great timed speed...Isn't real quick or sudden...Has room to improve as a route runner...Just average hands...Struggles to get separation...Not much of a deep threat...Inconsistent effort and concentration ...Conditioning?... Did not play against top competition. Notes: Father played basketball for New York University and reached the NCAA Final Four in the early 1960's...Was also a very good basketball player in high school...Became the first Mustang prospect to get an invite to the Senior Bowl...Owns the school records for career receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns...Holds the NCAA record for most consecutive games with a touchdown catch (20)...Was 1st Team All-Great West four times and was named the conferences offensive player of the year twice...Division I-AA star who was a man amongst boys and almost looked bored at times...King-sized wideout with some pretty intriguing physical tools but how well he runs in workouts will likely play a huge role in determining how early he is selected..One of the 2009 NFL Draft's premier small school prospects. 2005 13 40 655 16.4 9 2006 11 42 824 19.6 5 2007 11 57 1,467 25.7 18 2008 11 67 1,257 18.8 18 |
