Spagnuolo tabbed to become the next Rams' coach NFL.com Wire Reports Bill Kostroun / Associated Press Steve Spagnuolo brings championship experience to the Rams. NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the St. Louis Rams have given Steve Spagnuolo a four-year, $11.5 million contract to be their next head coach. Spagnuolo has been the Giants' defensive coordinator for the past two seasons and directed a unit that helped lead New York to a 17-14 upset of New England in Super Bowl XLII. In both of his seasons with the Giants, Spagnulo coordinated a top-10 defense. He was a defensive assistant in Philadelphia prior to his stint in New York. The Rams have fielded some of the league's worst defenses since former defensive coordinator Lovie Smith left to become the Bears' head coach in 2004 and they hope Spagnulo will solve those problems. St. Louis has the second overall pick for the second straight year in the draft and has sevearl young pieces in place, including second-year DE Chris Long, RB Steven Jackson and second-year WR Donnie Avery. |

Good hire for the Rams, if Reid had been canned Spags would have been my choice to replace him. Do the Giants have a good candidate waiting in the wings or will they hire from outside the organization again? |

I would imagine the Giants are going to keep it in house. The talk being either Peter Giunta (DB coach) or Bill Sheridan (LB coach). Anyone know if Dom Capers is currently unemployed? |

I think their D line coach is also to be said in the running This sucks,of course us fucking up last week guarenteed this double whammy. As long as we keep the same principles(agressive blitzing defense) we should be OK Remember,Spags was a position coach as well. |

That would be Mike Waufle......
Romeo was D. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken, but didn't Cleveland utilize a 3-4? |

I'm bored out of my skull and have half a bag on, so I googled Capers. I didn't realize he was hired by the Patriots* as a Special Assistant to Belicheat. Now, if you can believe anything you read on Wikipedia I found this snippet:

Anyone else having trouble fathoming this? He is well known for his 3-4 schemes, and we are nowhere near having the guys to run a 3-4 |

Well yeah, but we can't even get 3 average LB's on the field. We'd need 4 if it happens, not to mention the D-line having to get a hell of a lot bigger. Could you see Robbins or Cofield clogging the middle in a 3-4? I cant Coupled with the fact that I hate the 3-4 and this whole thing sucks the suck out of suck |
