FWIW from today's Post:

There wasn't a lack of confidence in Brandon Jacobs yesterday. He might be a free agent, but said he believes he will be back in blue.

"I think I will be here, and that's that. I'm putting myself on this football team next year," Jacobs said after the New York Giants ' soul crushing 23-11 loss to the Eagles in yesterday's NFC Divisional playoff game. "This is where I want to be, and this is where I hope I am next year."

Now here's hoping Reese gets it done. Resigning Jacobs should be the #1 priority for the organization.

God, I just love that big bastard.

He'll be back. No way we let him go.

Glad to see he wants to be back. He could've gotten offers from anyone and everyone, at the right price. Let's just hope we lock him up, then maybe a miracle will keep Ward with us as well.

Unless someone comes up with "Gibril Wilson" money I've got the feeling the Giants have a good shot at keeping Ward too.

Read an article several weeks ago that he's going to give the Giants every opportunity to resign him because he likes the area and is grateful to the organization for giving him his chance in the NFL. I also would like to think that Ward is smart enough to realize that the system he runs with Jacobs is quite beneficial.

But its all going to come down to how much money somebody else is going to throw at him. If someone blows him away with an overwhelming offer he's in all probability a goner.........and who could/would blame him?

I would be absolutely SHOCKED if we didn't re-sign the big fella. I don't see any way we go into next year with a rookie RB or with Ward and Bradshaw alone.

Ward's age might prevent him from getting a huge deal, so you're right...there still is a chance he'll be back. I'd call it 50/50 at this point.

Hey it's not like I've never been wrong before  but the more I think about it the more I get the feeling he stays.

Look at it this way.

In the AFC (other than the Colts which may just be a possibility here) what playoff team isn't already set at RB? And toss the Patriots* onto that list as well.

So that leaves who? Denver (hmmmmmmm). The Jets (meh). Not up to date on Houston, so Hadron is going to have to chime in on that.

In the NFC I'll also say he won't get a huge money offer from any of the playoff teams either. As for the non-playoff teams: Dallas: no; Washington: doubt it; Green Bay: no; Tampa: maybe?

I know I've said this too many times already (but the truth is that it's still a factor) is that its going to come down to the difference between getting fair contract offers and someone giving him the keys to a Brinks Truck.
