its been my experience that any team that goes into a game thinking they don't have to play 100% is probably looking at a loss.....

While I've heard people say that they're comfortable letting Jacobs sit, I think that's more a reflection on Ward having a similar running style and Bradshaw being adequate replacements. I have a similar mindset about this but I contribute more of the running game's success to the Giants O-line than their RBs. I haven't heard anyone say that Arizona is going to be a cakewalk and I'm totally sure that Coughlin would allow the Giants to look past Arizona.

I was thinking the same thing Hedgecock to the point where I checked his reception count yesterday (he's got 3 receptions). The guy must have dropped 6 passes this year. I'm not sure why they even want to try to throw his way anymore.

If Jacobs is still hurt, of course you sit him. I don't think there's any question there. But to sit him because he was banged up and that we can theoretically 'get away with this game' is stupid imo. Hell, even the jamokes on ESPN said that a loss here wouldn't mean that much to us. I've read similar on blogs, other boards, etc. Not so much that this will be a cake walk - not at all. Just that it's not a "must win" and imo, every game should be a must win, until you get to the last game....and even then, we've seen how teams should just go about their business rather than rest guys for the sake of rest.

agreed, all games are must games, we as fans want the team to win every game they play and I'm sure that goes for the players and the coaches, the only people I've heard say it isn't a must game is the media and what the hell do they know...

Oh fuck, almost forgot.

And Hedgecock can't catch a fucking cold.
This is true. I have said for the past 3 weeks straight, the only requirement to being a Fullback is that you can't catch. The second you catch a ball, you need to be moved to another position.

Would be pretty craptastic if we lost a tie breaker to the Cards later on.

I was listening to the pundits on Sirius NFL this morning talk about how this is much more a "must win" for Arizona. I don't buy that at all. The Giants want to have the best record in the Conference. They want a first round bye. They want home advantage through the playoffs. Just win, baby.

I'm still trying to understand why anyone would think the're taking this game lightly,I have not seen a thing or read a thing to give anyone the slightest hint that the Giants were no preparing for this game like any other,I think that everything the Patriots went thrue last year is still in there minds. After the game they played against the Ravens ....to me they really are the best team in the NFL right now.
