NFL says Blackburn is 'Special'

Chase Blackburn made a game-saving tackle of Brian Westbrook on a fourth-down, fourth-quarter play in Philadelphia Sunday night. But the NFL has recognized him for something else.

Blackburn was named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week. He had three special teams tackles, including two in the fourth quarter. He also recovered a fumble on a kickoff return that led to a Giants field goal.

Blackburn is the second Giant to be so honored this season. Kicker John Carney won the award in Week 3 for his four-field goal performance (including an overtime game-winner) against the Cincinnati Bengals. Blackburn, by the way, is the first non-punter or kicker to win the award for the Giants since David Tyree won it in Week 11 in 2005.

___

Something tells me that if he ever gets substantial playing time, he'd win the Defensive Player of the Week once or twice. Or more.

He reminds me of Greisen, only better.

Got to love his heart and passion for the game.

Speaking of Greisen, I heard his name called during the Texan-Raven game! lol

But hey, love CBB's motor. Always seems to be at the right place at the right time. Were it not for him this week, the Giants could have lost.

Yup, my Nicky is playing for the Ravens. He was good & had great field awareness.... only fitting that they "replace" Nick with a version of him! lol I LOVE white linebackers! They are a rare species! lololol
