I know,we are possibly on another Super Bowl Run,but its always kinda fun to see what we could do in making this team even deeper. On this boring day, something to think about. We will in all probablility be picking at the bottom of the 1st round,so it would be best to go BPA Will also have 2 2nds.(and possibly another 1st depending on what Vilma does),so we can yet again get even deeper and more talented(3 picks in the top 64 is extremely dangerous in Reese;s hands) Other than RB,Qube, and WR,I think all positions shouls be considered. This would be an excellent year to replenish O Line depth and get younger, maybe a DT,OLB,TE,heck, maybe some depth in the secondary. And If that Pen State kicker is comming out,I want that guy discuss |

There's no doubt we'll be adding depth to our Oline and Linebacking core. Although still on top of his game, Pierce isn't getting any younger. I believe Clark just has a one year contract. Kehl should be a keeper and Blackburn is a nice player. That's about it. I'm not really high on anybody else we have back there. If you've been watching Ok.State...., if that TE Pettigrew is there for us in Round 1 (which isn't very likely, but ya never know), that would be my first round pick. He does EVERYTHING well. If not, I'd have to lean toward LB in the first round without giving it a great deal of thought. You also have to consider whether we plan on signing Jacobs and/or Webster. If we don't sign one of them, I'd look at taking a RB/CB in the first 2 rounds since like you said, we have additional picks. So no...I don't think RB is out of the question at all in the second round, especially of course if Jacobs isn't signed. Edited by 27Hampton, Nov 9 2008, 03:30 PM.

We will slap a restricted tag on both Webster and Jacobs if we don't come to a deal with either(although I'm to think that we will try to make Webster more a priority),as I do not think any team would be willing to give up a 1st and 3rd for either. And we still have great depth at RB,we still have Danny Ware as a big back. IMO,the most important part of our offense is our O Line, and keeping it deep, and with youth,is imperritive. I have seen that TE,like him a lot, there are a few TE's that can catch and block that could be there when we pick. I would love to see a 2 TE set with Boss and another threat, with our offense, the 12 formation(1 back,2 TE's and 2 Wrs)would be un stoppable |

With a ton of picks in the next draft because of the Shockey deal and the comp for Wilson, don't rule out Mr. Reese perhaps putting together a package in order to move up. |

Moving up is always a possibility if they have a boner for a certain player/players. Gotta see who leaves/resigns/retires before heading in any particular direction. If the season continues the way it is though, it may be a BPA type pick. |

Ya know, I forgot that Ward is a FA as well after the season. Vacchiano: DraftInfo: What is one position that might be addressed by the 2009 draft and why? Vacchiano: A lot of that will depend on how free agency goes. CB Corey Webster is scheduled to be a UFA, and if he leaves then corner could be a top priority. They have two RBs headed for UFA status — Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward — and that could complicate issues. They’re also starting to get a little old at receiver, and have gotten mixed returns from a couple of recent draft picks (Sinorice Moss and Mario Manningham — though it’s still very early for Manningham). And I still think they’d love to have a real impact player at linebacker. I guess if you forced me to pick one, I’d say linebacker because they’re not very deep at that spot and we don’t really know yet what the Giants have, long term, in Kehl and Clark. If they can get a real playmaker there, I think they will. DraftInfo: Who would you say the Giants would love to get in the first round in 2009? Vacchiano: That’s such a tough question. It’s so early, and at the moment the Giants look like they’ll be drafting very low. And as you know, the list of first-rounders will change about 16,000 times between now and April, 2009. But for the sake of fun, I looked over some lists and if the Giants are looking for an impact LB, the guy that jumped out at me is Brian Cushing, out of USC (love it). He’s played all three positions, though I guess now he’s mostly on the strong side. He’s a Jersey kid, if I’m not mistaken. He’s got like 15 tackles for loss this year, so he can get into the backfield. He’s got some injury questions — and a few other questions — but he could be worth a look low in the first round. |

Safety isn't a real 'need' position at the moment given the quality/youth we have. LB/CB could be the top spots. Depending on our spot in the draft, I wouldn't discount another pass rusher given the old adage of 'you can never have too many good corners or pass rushers'. I'd really hate to see C-Web go though =/ |

They will give him a high tender (in which a team would have to give up a 1st and 3rd) if they can't sign him long term, same with Jacobs. |
