Punishin how could you not like Resident Evil 4? That's the best one! It re-invented what had become a tired cliche of a tires that had ran out of ideas and been bettered by the Silent Hill's and Project Zero's of the world. I'll post my top 10 soon after giving it more thought. |

I do like RE 4 but i just felt like i was rushed at some points of the game and trying to protect Ashley when she wasn't wearing the armor suit was a lot of pressure :C. |

^That was part of the point of the game. To make you feel pressure and fear in a different way, by not just watching your hide, but another characters. Although arguably a bit cumbersome and useless at least Ashley didn't get in your way and waste your ammo and health like Sheva in RE5 who gets progressively more retarded and useless the higher difficulty you get. The REAL challenge came from Professional mode in RE4 since you start with a clean slate unlike RE5 which you could milk to make the difficulty easier. Don't get me wrong though Pro mode in 5 is still absolute bollocks, but it has to be since you can play through it with unlimited ammo, should you choose. I tried to put these in order, that plan kinda failed after 5ish: 10) Overlord 9) Resident Evil 4 8) Devil May Cry 4 7) Devil May Cry 3 6) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 5) The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker 4) Final Fantasy VIII 3) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2) Brutal Legend 1) Final Fantasy VII Favorite Series in order: 1) Final Fantasy (Crisis Core and Dissidia may be on my top 10 list one day) 2) The Legend of Zelda 3) Devil May Cry 4) Resident Evil 5) Overlord 6) MotorStorm 7) Soul Callibur 8) Dino Crisis (bar 3 that piece of Xbox shit) 9) Mario Kart 10) Kingdom Hearts (the series got completely fucked after KHII now it's utter shit in my opinion) |

My top 10 games in no order: Final Fantasy VII This game wowed me when I first saw it being played by my mate and I remember begging my Mum to buy it for me for ages. They finally cracked and it was one of the bets purchases I was ever bought. It also made me venture out and see if I liked other RPG games. It turned out that it didn't and that I hate RPG games, but at least it made me want to try! GTA San Andreas Some people say Vice City is the true peak of the GTA series. Those people are old idiots blinded by their nostalgia for the 80's. San Andreas beats Vice City and GTA III in EVERY way, perhaps bar the Soundtrack. Want examples? The ability to swim, climb, fly proper planes, hovercrafts, go-karts, being able to compete in tons of races, gang warfare, gambling, pimping cars, dating girls, haircuts, tattoos, getting fat, customizing clothes, two-player modes, more weapons than you can shake a kendo stick at, brilliant characters including a genuine likable lead for the first time and a great plot too. Oh and THREE cites! Yes there was some lag, but when the game is this huge you should overlook that. And if THAT's not enough then how about Samuel L, bad mother fucker, Jackson. Silent Hill Silent Hill 2 is also fantastic, and probably one of the cleverest games of all time, but sadly explaining why would include massive spoilers. However it's the first one that remains my favourite. Resident Evil may have pioneered the genre, but Silent Hill perfected it and was the first game that genuinely scared me and not in a Resident Evil "Boo! Made you jump!" way, but in a ".........I have to turn the game off right now!!!" way. Call me a wimp, but this game messed up my mind for weeks and my heart was thumping just like Harry's- the dual shock vibrates to his heart beat in a stroke of genius. What makes it so scary? It's not the fog, or the rather ugly monsters and it sure isn't the dialogue- although it is scary how bad that is- but the sound. The static crackling of the radio whenever a monster is near and the music (wait calling it music would be a huge disservice to the creepy clangs and thumps that play, often at random just to frighten you) are scarier than any zombie in the world. Broken Sword This is on the PSone, and is one of it's best games, but the PC version is better. I could sum up why this is so good for ages. Talk about the great Point-And-Click interface, the charming characters, the plot which is both exciting and teaches more about the Templars and ancient history better than any Da Vinchi Code book, but all I need to say is that it has a Killer Clown in. Killer Clown's = Awesome..... unless you're the one being killed of course... Timesplitters 2 Again like Broken Sword I could sum up this game's awesomeness by saying that it too has Killer Clowns! And don't forget the killer ducks, gingerbread men, snowmen, lions, bears, zombies, golems, elvis impersonators, a beetle, robots, a man who THINKS and dresses like a robot and of course the trademark monkeys. However it also has soooooo many different modes from the usual Deathmatches, Team Deathmatches, Capture the Flag and Elimination modes to the sublime Virus mode (imagine the playground game Family It, but with guns. Or for those who went to school in London- just imagine ANY playground game...) Honestly Virus is almost as scary as Silent Hill! There is also the fantastic Map Maker and with two playstations, two TV's, two multi-taps, two copies of the game, a link cable, eight control pads and seven other friends you could even play eight player! And before you say "NOBODY will ever do that!" I did and it's awesome! Resident Evil 4 I have insulted RE a few times here, but I do love the series- RE 4 in particular. It's just class through and through and never lets up. I thought the castle part was near the end of the game and was amazed when I found out it is barely half-way through! A lot of people seem to hate Ashley and I don't get it. She ducks when you aim the gun at her- that's all I need in a woman. I don't think of her when I think of RE 4 instead I think of the time I locked myself in that house only for Dr. Salvador to sneak up behind me with his chainsaw. The time I fought El Gigante and that random dog I saved earlier came back to help me. The time I had that knife fight, the time I had that thrilling mine cart chase and THAT scene in THAT shack! Perfect game. Micro Machines V3 This PSone classic was the best party game going back in the day. 8 players can race across breakfast tables, restaurants, gardens, beaches, school classes, science labs and best of all pool tables. The tracks became absolute legends amongst my inner circle of friends and I can still remember them all. From the very easy pool track Swerve Shot were the races could last hundreds of laps, beach track Sandblaster where the race up the sandcastle often decided a winner, School Rulez an ultra fast race across three tables linked together with rulers, Formula X- an even faster race in F1 cars where you wind up in a bunsen burner and best of all Toad Rage where your race could be lost thanks to being jumped on by a toad- which used to prompt all of us to start singing "It's all over the front page- you give me Toad Rage...." Ahhh, the good old days. WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth Here Comes the Pain is obviously better as are some of the most recent ones, but I made loads of wrestlers using the Create-A-Wrestler mode and haven't been able to tear myself away from them so this is my favourite. Honestly most of the time I just simply watch my wrestlers fight each other while I act as the booker and come up with storylines for them. Shadow of the Colossus I was torn between this and Ico and while I think Team Ico's first game is better, there is no denying that SotC is the most awe inspiring. For those that have played this game no explanation is needed. For those who haven't- what the fuck have you been doing with your gaming time? Metal Gear Solid "Metal Gear? It can't be!" Oh yes it can. MGS changed gaming forever and is still probably the best of the series, though Snake Eater runs it close, and therefore by default is one of the best games ever made. Top 10 Series: 10) Team Ico Games- Ico and SotC are set in the same world, so I am including it! 9) ISS/Pro Evolution Soccer- I may have defected to Fifa, but I won't forget you anytime soon Pro! 8) Street Fighter- Love the iconic characters. Hate Rufus and El Fuete. 7) Resident Evil- But only 1, 2, 3 and 4. 6) Final Fantasy- Love VII, VI and IX. Tolerate the rest. 5) Syphon Filter (PSone era)- The most underrated series of all time. 4) Toca- The BEST racing series of all time. Gran Turismo who? 3) Tekken- Tekken 2, 3, Tag, 5 and DR were subline. 2) GTA (PS2 Era)- GTA IV just didn't do it for me. 1) Metal Gear Solid- 2 and 4 are somewhat shit, but 1 and 3 more than make up for them. |

THE USER AMARANT'S TOP 10 GAMES 10. Viewtiful Joe What a fun, original and viewtifully awesome game. From its rocking voice cast including Dee Bradley Baker and Gregg Berger to its fun movie-esque soundtrack that helped give the feel that this game was a spoof on classic action films from the late 60's early 70's. Viewtiful Joe is so creative and shines brightly along side the rest of the Clover Studios Lineup of Capcom before it was shut down... assholes. ![]() 9. Crash Bandicoot WARPED AH! Naughty Dog you clever sum'bichz. Crash Bandicoot already won peoples hearts from its fun and hilarious gameplay that will want you to just flat out kill yourself just so you could see the different reactions. Plus the 3rd one brought some fun powerups not to mention it gave the female gamer a reason to play for the uninteresting Coco Bandicoot levels ;B. The voice cast was phenominal before ND lost its rights to the orange moron to Universal and they turned Crash from that fun loving idiot into a current Sonic the Hedgehog ripoff which itself is already unoriginal. ![]() 8. Metal Gear Solid Wow is the only word that sums this game up. The voice cast blew me away and the music was great. The story is the highlight of the game that draws you in like a vacuum even if it's just mindless dribble from Otocon or the asian chick who saves your game. At the time, MGS's graphics were top notch and dominated almost every other game for its time before Square got shittardedly amazing with both FF8 and FF9. If you have yet to play this or any other in the series, grab 30 bucks and buy the trilogy pack, it is a great deal and totally worth it. ![]() 7. Psychonauts Tim Schafer has done it again with an incredibly creative platformer. Psychonauts was witty, fast paced, interesting and truly shows who creative someone can be. The unfortunate thing with Shafer's games is that they are way too short and you crave more after playing through the story and unfortunately there is not a lot of side stuff. But this game beat the previous 3 games because of its amazing wit, voicecast and soundtrack. ![]() 6. MegaMan X4 Ah, remember that point in the 90's when games started to add animated cutscenes then they recieved horrible dubbing? You realize they are still doing that? Good. Although MMX4's dubbing was so bad you wanted to rip your ears off your head, the gameplay is what really sucked me into this title. Plus when you're 10 and you play this game, HOLY SHIT ANIME CUTSCENES AWESOME LOLOLOLOLOL!!!! I love the powerups, I love the levels and X4 to me had the most creative and stereotypical cast of villains in MM history. Cheesy and classic. ![]() 5. God of War I and II H.o.l.y.C.r.a.p. This... game... is... awesome! A great twist on Greek Mythology that is so satisfyingly brutal and bloody you trek forwad from begining to end to chop Ares' head off in the final epic battle with the God of War. God of War II was equally satifying with a ton of addons that GoW forgot to do in the first game. Its voice cast is AMAZING, so raw and full of talent. GO GET GOD OF WAR III, it's the last in the trilogy and I wanna see if Kratos, King of all Badasses (Yes, Kratos is the greatest badass of all time) gets to add more gods he has under his belt of killed immortals. ![]() 4. Sonic and Knuckles Ah, Sega Genesis... Before SEGA fucked up Sonic and made him a douchebag hero. S&K is home to some of the greatest video game songs of all time with literally thousands of remixes then lets not forget Project Chaos which is free for download on their main website. Knuckles was the last of the great characters after SEGA decided to add 4+ new characters to every game which they never use ever again because they need room for their cookie-cutter characters Shadow and Amy and other douchebags. The Genesis is the real home for Sonic so grab a cartridge, blow the dust out of it, pop it into the system and use the 3 buttons on the side of the controller that all did the same command. ![]() 3. Okami Yes, Clover left Capcom with a mighty fine and artistically beautiful explosion on the legend of Amaterasu but with a clever twist. The game was a great way to see Japanese legend with some fun gameplay, kind of boring action though, but to trek the large world was just a reward itself because there was so much to explore and to do. Reap the rewards, take on the epic bosses and listen to the wonderfully conducted music. ![]() 2. Pokemon R/B/Y I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST! And god dammit I am! Pokemon is a whirlwind of a fandom that has made Nintendo even more filthy stinking rich, but before the extra 300 fuckers there were only 151 and they were home to the original Gameboy. This game is so addicting it's not even funny. You will sit with your gameboy planted against your forehead trying to get that last pokemon in your team to evolve or learn that super move to crush that asshole of a rival and become the Pokemon Champ to go out and find the mother of all Pokemon, Mewtwo. ![]() 1. Final Fantasy IX Now this game was iffy with many FF fans but mainly the old school players loved the title... but I was just introduced into Final Fantasy when I first played it and it was just absolutely fantastic and still is. I love the story, the music, the cast of characters, the side quests, the battle system, the equipment and abilities system, the graphics, the CG scenes, everything! Yes there were some serious flaws but every game has it. FF9 I have to play from beginning to end at least once a year or I will feel empty on the inside. So fuck your FF7's, fuck your FF8's, fuck your FF10's and especially a big giant fuck you to FF12! FF9 is the dominating title imo.

Subject to change but this is pretty much where it's been for a year or so: 10. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 - Reverts being the last essential addition to the series. 9. Team Fortress 2 - Oh how I almost failed my final year of uni because of this beauty. 8. King Of Fighters 2000 - Oh how I almost failed first year of uni with this beauty. 7. Dynasty Warriors 3 - Golden Axe in Ancient China, any one who doesn't that it is a communist. 6. Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes - Spawn and Devil May Cry butcher Japanese history, me likey. 5. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 - Chemical Plant music owns all, that is all. 4. Final Fantasy XII - Oh how I almost failed second year of uni with this beauty, twice... 3. Super Castlevania IV - Manly man in short shorts whipping undead fiends into submission, oh yus. Also, best soundtrack ever outside of MegaMan X. 2. Final Fantasy IX - My favourite of the "old-style" Final Fantasy's, purely the most enjoyable to play through. 1. Vagrant Story - Still the closest thing I come to naming the perfect game. |

Ah I loved Viewtiful Joe (Clover Studios the best ever?), however I got insanely pissed off with that stupid flying level and never played the game since. Wtf was that crap about!? Psyconaughts, Okami and Vagrant Story are great choices too. |
