It was deathly boring and I just couldn't get through it. And I don't think I ever will. Did anyone else find it that way? I don't even remember what part I'm at it's been so long. I thought the story line had serious potential but ended up lacking quite a bit. The gambit system was EZmode and the license board was lame because then everyone became everything. Anyone else have any input? |

I was able to beat it... totally not satisfying. The only thing that made me happy was Gilgamesh being a hunt, other than that, yawn. I'd just go to FFWiki or youtube and watch/read how it ends. |

This game I actually really liked but i just got terribly annoyed with it and sold it to a pawn shop. I just didnt have the drive to go all the way through it so i just read the story line. Much better for me. |

I found this game very boring first time through, because it was nothing like what I expected. I've started it a second time, and I'm enjoying it a lot more because I know what to expect from it. I agree with the story being rather lacking, and with the license board system sucking, but there ARE still certain characters who fit certain roles better than others. You just need to look at their stats. The Gambit system was kind of a joke though. Set yourself up with the right Gambits, and you can go off and make a sandwich while your guys kill the bosses |

That's another part of the game for me it was really hard to understand. The whole gambit system and the mission system thoroughly confused me to another reason I didn't enjoy this game as much as I was hoping. I was so hyped up to get this game almost as much as 10 it was kind of a let down. |

The gambit system totally displeased me. As ABGM said it got to the point where you could get the computer to play the game for you... so in effect you win without playing thus defeating the point of a game. Unless you're talking about THE game then the point of the game is not to play it or you'll lose! I did however find the story reasonably interesting, the ending really good, the graphics pretty high standard, the music nice and contempary and the side quests and additional gaming numerous. I didn't like how you had to do so much side questing to get anything though. Imo FFVI was so successful because you got 80% of everything just by completing the game. In this FF you could complete the game but only have done 20% of the stuff there is to do and have none of the good weapons, only 2-3 espers and be missing all the top equipment.... kinda sucks. |

I have still not beaten this one - i agree gambits were a bit too easy, there was one boss or hunt cant remember which that was like 5 lil vegtable heads running around a circular map - i had blow thru all my mp and had quite a few ko'd, had given up and was waiting it to got to game over - i had my gambits apparently set good i had kinda left it and came back, i did not lose the fight lol. The thing that annoyed me the most about this game was the monsters never changed - they just got recolored or horns added. The bosses were alot easier then other titles, there were a few hunts tho that drove me crazy like the shiney invisible chocobo? (yes i dont know the names of the monsters.) Status were also constant. i spent more time with my nurses casting healing spells then anything else. The maps and towns were pretty detailed that was nice and the story alot seemed to hate - granted i have not finished but i think im pretty far, i actually liked the story |

Honestly I got to the very first time you go onto the world map and those wolves kept hunting and killing me. I gave up right then and there. I spent all my time before hand cursing at the controls during the initial fights with that random character and quickly decided that this game wasn't for me. |

--to the Turk: FAIL Anyway, I finished this game after my second playthrough! [this time with a guide I bought for a friend..then borrowed] The first time I played, little did I know that I stopped at the second to last stage of the game... That pissed me off when i found out during my second playthrough because when I got the ending I was so disappointed! Honestly, I was expecting a dramatic FFviii-esque music video ending filled with happy moments and reminiscences, but NO. My other complaints about the game include... the bad camera angles that did not accentuate the scenery of the cities and plains; how you could never see the two other party members running with you because they'd always get stuck behind casting protect/shell/regen/faith/bravery/haste/etc; and the lack of a romance in the plot [Ashe and her dead husband's ghost don't count]. |

Never beat it and most likely I never will. My big problem with it was it played out like an MMORPG in terms of combat and map wise. The story wasn't pulling me in either so with those combined I just said forget it and traded it in. |

It was like an MMORPG in the terms of grinding, but not as rewarding as an MMORPG as you had no-one to show anything of to. The Licence board went from being an annoyance to making the game really easy at certain parts (getting quickenings and tripling MP) Gambits made it so that AI controlled 90% of the battles They changed unnecessary things like the looks of cactuars and the names of espers which made it feel alien Worst main character EVER Bat difficulty curve, it went from easy to hard to easy to very hard to simple Basically, just a poor FF and a poor RPG in general. so no, never finished it, and probably never will. |

I'm not sure how I feel about XII. I feel like I should like it because it's a very pretty looking game and it has some cool characters like Fran and Balthier. I don't like it because it's so damned hard. I don't agree with what Shiva said about the bosses being easy. I've never been able to beat a boss in FFXII without dieing and having to go train or try make more money for weapons. The story as well is so boring, I feel like I'm missing that urgency to play it like I had with other FF's. It doesn't make me excited about the story and doesn't really give me any reason to give a damn about any of the characters besides the ones I've already mentioned. I doubt I'll ever finish it though, the need to keep going back and doing more fights pisses me off no end. |

I never completed it. The fact that your other characters were so readily available after your main partied died was insult to injury, cause they were always under levelled for me. Some bosses were impossible without certain items, i.e. that stupid bird thing at the shrine/temple blah de blah, which bugged the crap out of me, I can't remember that happening in any other FF, could be wrong though. I hated the impersonal battle system, where you just set your other characters to bots, customisable, but bots nonetheless, the entire game irked me for many many reasons. I didn't complete it. I may do later, when I get back on to my complete all FFs ship again, but right now, I don't plan to. |
