Decided to have a few beers and a fire down at the barn....near Yanks this past Saturday. Yank had his bike apart and was gonna miss out on a meal at the shed. After a few more beers we decided to put the bike back together Sunday morning and ride out to the shed. I awoke Sunday morning with a slight to moderate headache and Yanks says he felt like total shyte. This made me feel better knowing he felt worse than me. We got to putting his pipes and all the associated bull crap from his "remove a piece of worthless chrome project" and completed the project by 10:30.....headed out about 11:00 and started the beautiful back road ride to Edom. It was a warm and blustery day with mild temperatures that hovered near 70. There was a mugginess to the air that was warming and pleasant to the skin . It was reminiscent of a time in my 20's when I suffered from a massive hangover and felt like crap. We passed a family of feral hogs at the side of the road that scampered as we rode by. Yank thought they were yard art as they stood so still as we approached. Dogs seemed to be everywhere we looked. Approaching Edom Yank stirred up a buck at the side of the road. The buck darted in front of me and caused me to lock up my brakes. As we were skidding the buck was running parallel to us down the road. I could have reached out and smacked the sucker if I wasn't trying to keep the bike up. Oddly enough I never got the heart pounding or fear of going down....not sure why? Maybe I need a pace maker? Brenda took it real well and said to me "We were close to going down weren't we?" "Nah", I replied, knowing I was lying. Anyhow, Went on to the Shed, changed my undies and had a decent meal....never really thought it was anything special but it is a nice place and great ride. Plus you could do worse. The ride back was uneventful and as nice as one could hope for......It is a great time to live in Texas! |

I did 6 days of home repairs last week and on the 7th day I said "I'm done and going for a ride!" Changing all the windows, remodeling a bathroom and putting new Hardi on the house......which leads to painting....yeh, I know about those projects! Week 2 under way now! |

Borrow a gun from Yank and put some in the freezer. They would do it to you if they get the chance. Glad you can keep it up. |
