I have several very stupid questions. Rather than flood my intro post I decided the best place to bring up the subject is where it (I think?) belongs. I did skim, and I can't find anything that answers my exact questions. If you find one, please let me know. First question is... How on earth do you decide it's OK, what each other's characters do? I might be misunderstanding, but roleplaying on forums looks to me as if everyone's working together to write a fanfic. Even if you only use anime characters (I'm not very experienced in using non-original characters) how would I know what so-and-so's Zelgadis is like, or whomever's Kyou? How do you not step on everyone else's toes, especially if you or they are new? Next, how do you jump into an RP? I used to advise people on what became a very detailed way of determining the suitable pace, the right amount of assumption and how much was too much imposition. Do any of you have such advice for me? I notice in the rules people must do more than 5 words. Is this a common problem? O_o This is entirely the wrong format for that, isn't it? If so, how much is too much? Do you lead into where you really need the other person's characters, or do you not play the other person's character at all and I am just not reading the RPs right? Sorry for all of the questions-- I actually have more but I won't overwhelm right on the first post... |

*laughs* Not to worry ^^ Sometime, we plan out RPs and figure out whos character is where with whomelse. Most of the time, we just go along with the flow, to be honest ^^; I don't think that anyone's ever run across the problem of "stepping on anyone's toes." Our interpretations of our characters show as we continue to use them; the more you see them interact, the more you can learn about them. Well, I'd personally like to read the entire RP before I jump in. If you can't think or create a situation in which to bring your characters in, you can always talk to the other participants of the RP you want to join so they can help bring about a situation in which you can bring in your character(s). The 5-word rule is just to prevent any spam, so it's more of a precaution than anything else. And there's no limit to how long your post(s) can be. If you take a moment to look, you'll find that all posts vary from short to very long. I hope I answered some of your questions.
